  • Welcome back to another edition of TETV Morning News. Today is Monday, October 31st.
  • The TEMS Boys Soccer team hosted one of two semi-finals last night taking on East Hartford on the Orchard Hill Soccer field last night.  East Hartford came out strong and surprised the Cougars taking an early lead early in the first half.  Once the game settled in, the Cougars were a different team.  Players were working hard around the ball and their efforts were soon rewarded.  Ben Perkins found himself alone in front of goal and tucked away his chance leveling the score at one a piece.  TE kept pressing.  The Falcons were constantly thwarting their attacks.  About 28 minutes into the half, Tanush Mohapatra found Chirag Balaji over the top and behind the defense.  He took two touches towards goal and buried the ball near post past the keeper. The halftime score was 2-1. The second half was just as dominant for the Cougars.  However, the Falcons challenged them time and time again.  Fran Linares, the Cougar's #1, parried two balls out and away from danger.  Luckily, the Cougars were able to keep their marginal lead when the Falcons struck the post midway through the half as well.  With the time winding down, the Cougars were able to keep the Falcons out of their defensive third and moved into the final as the final whistle blew.  The final score was 2-1 as well.  The CRAL Finals will be Thursday after school and TEMS will play Illing for the Championship.
  • Just a reminder that TODAY is the last session for the 6th and 7th grade basketball intramurals.  Hope to see all who registered at the LAST session today, after school until 4:10 pm.
  • Attention all boys and girls, we are excited to announce tryouts for the 2022-2023 TEMS cheer sideline and competition team.  Cheer tryouts are open to both girls and boys and will be held on 11/28, 11/30, and 12/1 from 2:40-4 pm in the small gym.  Please see the TEMS athletic page for registration details.  If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Edwards.
  • Don’t forget that next Tuesday, November 8th middle school students can join us on their day off from school to relax and participate in a yoga session from 1-2pm at the Teen Center.

  • Welcome back to another edition of TETV Morning News. Today is Wednesday, October 26th and it is Zoom Dress up day.

  • The boys cross country team hosted Sage Park on Tuesday, October 25th. From the start, Sage Park's lead runner set the tone for the race.  TE's Jeffery Zeng was in hot pursuit of first place, but Sage Park's lead runner never gave up his spot. Zeng would come in second place, followed by TE's 4th place finish by Erik Edstrom.  Sage Park's runners would finish 5th and 6th, followed by Karthik Srikumar's seventh-place finish. TE's runners would then finish 8th - 22nd before another Sage Park runner would finish.  Despite that, it wasn't enough to win the meet.  TE lost by three points to Sage Park's 27-point win. TE's effort would not go unnoticed.  Sam Franklin, Tejas Shankar, and Nate Chilberg are a few athletes that had a great meet.  Congrats to all the runners and best of luck on Thursday at the CRAL Championship.
  • A big congratulations to the girls cross country team for wrapping up the season with an undefeated record of 5 wins and 0 losses.  The Cougars had a near perfect score of 15-49 against Sage Park of Windsor with TE taking 7 of the top 10 spots in the race.  Akithmi Koththigoda, a front runner in all races this season, came in 4th place overall with another speedy and well paced race. The standout performance of the night was a top 10 runner named Charlotte Zeng who finished in 6th overall.  Charlotte battled it out to the very end beating out Sage Park's #1 runner just before the finish.  Kashvi Bagga maintained focus and showed excellent endurance throughout the race as did Anvitha Jayavarapu who once again powered it all the way through the finish.  Great work to all runners!  The team looks forward to their league championship meet this Thursday at Charter Oak Park in Manchester.  Best of luck to all those running!
  • The field hockey team had a more evenly matched game against Granby but fell short with a score of  4-1. Tori Yelle had a nice goal from an assist by Prithi Suriyakumarr.  Maggie Melia and Violette DesRocher came off the bench and played stellar defense along with Kendall Woods for the cougars.  Sarah Bonanno, Morgan Syme, Kylie Duval, and Ainslee Deptula excelled on offense but just couldnt find the back of the net.  TE's last game is tomorrow away vs Suffield.
  • Attention all winter sport athletes.  Registration is now open for basketball and cheerleading.  You will need to register on the parent portal and have a physician statement signed by your pediatrician.  The winter sports deadline is Wednesday, November 23rd.  Tryouts will begin the week of November 28th.  Please check the athletic registration page for more information.

  • Welcome back to another edition of TETV Morning News. Today is Wednesday,  October 18th and it’s is Unity Day! We ask that each of you participate in this simple call to action – make an effort to be kind, inclusive and accepting of others, today and every day!
  • The girls soccer team hosted Sage Park and brought home a 9-0 victory. The Cougars proved that their ability was simply too much from the first whistle, as Gianna DiSalvatore scored within the first minute of play. DiSalvatore, along with Kylah Wood, Hailey Olints, and Kinsley Wood were all able to score a pair on the day. Abigail Ambooken was also able to add to the tally with the assist credited to Alina Zajac. Outstanding performance was had by Hailey Olints who scored two exceptional goals off a one time cross from Abigail Ambooken, as well as a solo strike into the bottom left corner. Assists on the day were numerous and came from Abigail Ambooken, Lilly Jaworski, Julia Thorne, and Aleksa Zajac. The TE back four was consistent as Ari Flores, Shea Brochu, Nora Carty, and Jenna Martin remained organized and kept the ball moving to attack. However, play of the game came from Kylah Wood who gracefully headed in a cross from Alina Zajac. Wood's goal currently stands as the only goal scored from a header by a TEMS girl's player in the last 8 years. The Cougars remain undefeated on the season as they travel to East Hartford on Thursday.
  • The Timothy Edwards boys soccer team traveled to Windsor last night to take on Sage Park. The Cougars were able to come away with the victory 3 to 2. The first half the Cougars did not perform to their ability, and were down two zero on two looping efforts from the Chargers. The Cougars, after a half time talk with Coach Chandler came out clawing their way back into the game. A long range effort from Alex Ndiaye brought the Cougars back into the match. Jack Cinxo then stepped up to a free kick from about 20 yards away, and blasted it into the roof of the net making it 2 to 2. With renewed energy, the Cougars never looked back. After just stepping into the field, Blake Lyons headed in what proved to be the game winner with about 8 minutes to go.. the cross was put in by Tanush Mohapatra. It was a big result for the Cougars as they sit atop the CRAL standings. TE play East Hartford at home on Thursday. Come out and cheer on the boys.
  • Are you a 6th grader who is interested in meeting new people, while learning some fun ways to build your confidence? Do you want to make connections and have some fun during your WIN period? These students can collect their $10 Dairy Queen gift cards in the office. Keep those donations coming so we can hit our school goal of $25,000.
  • The Timothy Edwards middle school boys soccer team competed against Suffield for the first time in recent history. The game started off slow as the Cougars went down 1–0 early in the first half. Dalton Crane and Sam Valesquez came on as substitutes and controlled the back line and the Wildcats from Suffield didn’t get another real chance. That’s the only sight of goal they had all game. At the end of the first half Tanoush Mohapatra took a long range effort over the goalkeeper to knot the score at one. The second half was much of the same as the Cougars dominated play. Once again MohaPatra had a chance and took it with a shot from 20 yards out. After some slick passing, Jack Cinxo received a pass from Alex Ndiaye and buried his chance to make the score 3–1. The final whistle blew, and the Cougars were victorious again. They now have a record of 5-0-1. The Cougars play again today after school against Ellington. Come out and cheer on the boys!
  • The TEMS girls soccer team defeated Suffield 7-0 yesterday afternoon in Cougar Stadium. The scoring opened with Lily Jaworski assisting Alina Zajac, slotting the ball into the corner of the goal. Zajac tallied two goals and one assist on the day. Rounding out the half, Maddie Edwards rallied the team with a cheeky chip off the goalkeeper's hands bringing the score to 2-0. In the second half, the Cougars began to put the pressure on with a driven cross from Kylah Wood onto the foot of Hailey Olints, who easy found the back of the net. The Cougars dominated in the midfield and wide areas with the relentless energy from Abigail and Annabel Abooken, who never seemed to stop moving on the field. Additionally, outstanding performance from Shea Brochu who squashed a number of Suffield attacks. However, the play of the game came from Allison Marques who tee'd up a free kick from over 40 yards out, and with a world-class strike sent the ball over the head of the goalkeeper and into the back of the net. The outstanding strike was certainly one for the highlight reel. Another memorable moment was Kylah Wood earning an assist by finding her sister Kinsley Wood who slotted the goal home. Between the pipes, Hannah Kowalchik and Olivia Lopez were both tested on the day, and each recorded a handful of saves from some deserving chances. The Cougars travel to face Ellington  this afternoon's CRAL matchup.

  • Boys soccer tryouts will begin next week.  Due to the number of players registered to tryout, we will have four days of tryouts.  The changes will be listed on the TEMS athletics website as well.  Players will not be allowed to tryout if any of your registration materials are missing - mainly the physician's statement. 6th grade will tryout on Tuesday and Wednesday after school.  Please meet in the main gym with water, shin guards and soccer shoes.  Do not wear your soccer shoes in the building.  You will be allowed to change in the locker room prior to tryouts.  All players must have a ride at 4:00...no exceptions.  Please make arrangements to have a ride for 4:00.  Again, 6th grade only for Tuesday and Wednesday. 7th and 8th grades will tryouts on Thursday and Friday.  Please meet in the main gym with water, shin guards and soccer shoes.  Do not wear your soccer shoes in the building.  You will be allowed to change in the locker room prior to tryouts.  As indicated before, all players must have a ride for 4:00 on the days they are trying out.  If you have any questions regarding the tryout process, please contact Coach Chandler in the main gym.
