  • Have you ever heard about Purple Up Day? The whole month of April is celebrated as the Month of the Military Child and it's a great opportunity to honor and appreciate military families and their children for the sacrifices they make and the challenges they overcome. Since military parents are often away from home, Purple Up Day became an important symbol of supporting, uplifting, and being there for military kids since their built-in support system isn’t always available to them. Help us support them by wearing your PURPLE on Friday, April 21st!

Tickets are on sale Wednesday, Thursday and Friday in common area C. Students attending must complete the Google Form which can be found on the homepage. Funds from this dance will go to support the Boston Trip for 8th graders. Google Form Link

  • We are back celebrating Black History Month. Today we recognize the 369th infantry regiment of the New York Army National Guard during World War I better known as the Harlem Hellfighters. The Hellfighters were the most celebrated African-American regiment in World War I and confronted racism even as they trained for war. They helped bring jazz music to France and then battled Germany longer than almost any other American soldiers. Like their predecessors in the Civil War and successors in the wars that followed, these African-American troops fought a war for a country that refused them basic rights. Their bravery stood as a rebuke to racism and a moral claim to first-class citizenship.

  • The Lady Cougars hosted the first round of the CRAL playoffs last night taking on the JFK Lady Patriots from Enfield.  The first half was hotly contested though Emery Forko gave the Lady Cougars a very important 3 point lead going into half time.  She beat the buzzer with a 3 of her own sending the crowd into a frenzy.  The halftime score was 21-18.  In the second half, Teagan Purcell, Kai Grate and Shea Brochu lead the charge and extended the lead by four, 29-22, going into the 4th quarter.  The fourth quarter required the Lady Patriots to play man to man and TEMS took advantage with quick ball handing and smart finishes on the fast break.  With 7 different players scoring, the final score was 43-33.  The Lady Cougars will face the winner of the Ellington/Suffield game also being played today.  Good luck ladies.
