  • The TEMS Boys soccer team played host to the Illing Rams last night in the semi-final round of the CRAL playoffs.  TE went into the game as the number one seed and boy, did they prove it.  The Cougars came out firing on all cylinders.  Smooth passing and crisp movement all over the pitch gave the Cougars the overall advantage in the match. Aaron Cherian opened the scoring early in the first half, finishing a pass from Mo Rahman into the bottom left hand corner of the net.  The Cougars' press continued and it paid off more quickly than the Rams wanted.  Dalton Crane, finished a nice cross from Haris Ahinipotoku, with his head making it 2-0.  Shortly thereafter, Garren Kerachsky found himself free on the the left side.  His perfectly timed cross found Zayd Sebro in the middle of the box.  His finish was extremely cheeky as he looked like Lionel Messi finishing a goal.  The scoring didn't stop there, Carson Henriques slotted in Doug Quiuqui effortlessly and he finished his chance making it four!  The Rams provided little in terms of attach for the rest of the match.  But the Cougars were determined to prove their worth.  Kerachsky found himself free in the box for the fifth goal of the game, while Rahman turned receiver and put the game to bed, finishing off a pass from Adam Elsendyouney.  "I was a little concerned about this match after watching the boys warm up", Coach Chandler said.  "However, they proved me wrong quickly with a plethora of goals, some of which were top class", he added.  The Cougars play against Ellington today for the CRAL Championship.  Good luck boys!
  • The TE girls soccer team makes it to the CRAL final. The lady Cougars will play on Thursday at 3:45 at Nevers. Last night was a tough match for the Cougars. The game started off with a quick foul. This led to Allison Marques taking a direct kick right outside the 18 which led to the first goal for the lady Cougars. The lady Cougars were fired up! Kinsley Wood took a PK for the Cougars in the first half to make the score 2-0. The half ended 3-0 Cougars. Early in the second half, Sienna DiSalvatore passed a beautiful through ball to Emily Gamble who fired one in the back of the net! The game didn't stop there. Suffield game back with two goals. The final score was 5-2! Good luck in the final ladies!

  • The Lady Cougars Soccer Team faced JFK last night and it definitely wasn't easy! The team walked away with a tie 2-2. Late in the first half Madison Carpenter fought her way to the goal and fired one in the back of the net. But, that didn't stop JFK who came right back to tie it up when they got a direct kick at the corner of the box.  Gianna DiSalvatore gave the team a much needed pep talk at the half way mark. The Cougars came out strong in the second half which led to Emily Gamble scoring a goal. The Cougars were up by one. Late in the second half JFK was able to tie it up. The Lady Cougars worked hard, but were unable to get another goal against JFK. Victoria Maachi secured the tie for the Lady Cougars with three amazing saves. The girls play Suffield today after school at 3:45! This will be the last game of the regular season.
  • The field hockey team fought a hard battle but came up short against a very strong Granby team.  Tori Yelle had some beautiful breakaways with Allie Scott making nice passes up the sideline along with Ainslee Deptula and Prithi Suriyakumarr, and Emily Carmon at midfield.  Megan Aparo had tremendous saves but Granby just proved too strong for the TE defense.  Emma Davis made the highlight real making a goal  line save in the first half! In the second game TE could not fend off a pesky Granby team but the coaches were very pleased at their passing and stickwork.  They have shown great improvement since the beginning of the year.  Ella Allore, Stella Swierbutowicz, Emma Hennessey, Ipshita Singh, and Layla Holmes played well for the Cougars.  TE's last game is tomorrow away against Somers.
  • Do you like math?  Do you enjoy problem solving? If you answered "yes" to these questions, then it sounds like you would enjoy MathCounts? • Welcome back to another edition of TETV Morning News. Today is Wednesday, September 27.
  • The Timothy Edwards boys soccer team traveled to JFK last night up in Enfield, and came away with a 4–0 victory. Leading the scoring was Doug Quiuqui who took a nice threw ball from Carson Henriques. The half finished 1–0, though TE was on the front foot most of the half. The second half was more of the same in terms of possession and attack, when Dalton Crane scored a free kick from about 23 yards out. After constant pressure, Garren Kerachsky received a pass from Zayd Sebro and hammered home his chance over the keeper's head. Doug Q. was on the end of the final goal after he received a pass/shot attempt from Aaron Cheriah. The final score of 4-0 was justified from the start. The next game for the Cougars is on Thursday against Ellington after school.
  • The girls team played JFK last night and won 5-1. The ball was buzzing around the field. Enfield definitely put the pressure on the Cougars, but that did not stop us. The Cougars scored 3 amazing goals in the first half. We ended the half 3-0.  Aleksa Zajac and Madison Carpenter each placed one in the back net in the second half. 6th grader Isla Mayer had an outstanding second half. If it wasn't for our goal keeper Victoria Macchi we wouldn't have been able to hold JFK to only one goal. The girls team faces Ellington on Thursday!

  • Attention sixth grade studentsRegistration is open for the Grade 6 Stock Market Game! Classes will meet on Mondays after school starting Monday October 2nd and continue through the end of November. You can play as an individual or team up with friends and invest your 'mock' $100,000 in stocks, bonds and mutual funds. Financial Guru and Grade 6 SAGE Team Math teacher Mrs. Pantages will co-teach the class...BUT, did you know that Mrs. Pantages actually introduced Ben Cohen to Jerry Greenfield during recess at their elementary school. She was a classmate of Yes, THE Ben and THE Jerry of the multi-billion dollar ice cream empire - Ben and Jerry's. (SIDE NOTE: She also convinced them to sell ice cream instead of their first idea - flavored mayonnaise! )

SECOND SIDE NOTE:  Mr. Smith-Horn, who's claim to fame is he went to high school with George from "Seinfeld"  is also co-teaching the class.  Interested sixth graders should join the  Stock Market Game Google Classroom using code:  6wevban and come to the first class on Monday, October 2nd in the TEMS Cafeteria.

  • The girls soccer team had their first win 5-0 against Illing middle school yesterday. Gianna DiSalvatore had two beautiful goals for the team. Shea Brochu and Allison Marques led the team on defense. Victoria Macchi had an outstanding game in goal. The girl's next game will be Thursday against Suffield.

  •  Last night the Boys Soccer team opened its season account with a firm 3-1 win over their rivals, the Illing Rams. The first half was mostly one sided as 6th grader Sammy Forko scored his first TE goal of a nice feed from Haris Zhinipotoku. The Cougars then took their foot off the gas for a minute or two and Illing Drew one back with a nice finish to the back post. The second half Illing was only able to get one chance though Aniron Pal was up to the task and caught it with little worry. With TE pressing, Doug Quiuqui found the ball at his feet in the box and buried it unassisted. Dalton crane rounded out the scoring after Dliion Leacu crossed it from the right flank. Quiuqui was smart as week as he dummies the ball through his legs so Crane could finish it sweetly. The Cougars next play on Thursday at home versus JFK.
