TE Morning News - January 25, 2019
Why was the child staring at a can of frozen orange juice? It said concentrate!
The Outdoor Education Club has three upcoming trips. We will be snow tubing at Powder Ridge on January 31st, then it's a rock climbing adventure on February 28th, and lastly we will be going to the South Windsor Arena for ice skating on March 28th. Please stop by the main office, see Mr. Wilkinson in room 112, or Ms. Nelson in room 251 for a form if you're interested in any of these adventures.
Are you interested in acceptance, inclusivity, and equality for all? A new club, the GSA, which stands for Gay-Straight Alliance, will be having its first meeting on Wednesday, January 30th. The G S A at TE provides a safe and welcoming space for any student who wants to talk about issues related to sexual orientation or gender identity and expression. During our meetings, we will play games, do team-building activities, and talk about what's going on in our lives. Through our club, we hope to build a judgment-free community of friends and allies who support one another. It does not matter how you identify; anyone can attend and everyone is welcome. If you have any questions about the GSA, please see Mrs. Zaugg in Room 332 (Pacific Team). We look forward to seeing you at our first meeting after school on Wednesday, January 30th.
Out of the Blue will meet after school on Monday January 28 in room 312. Be sure to bring a submission you are working on. Please see Ms. Olsen before Monday if you cannot attend.
The boys lost a tough game against East Hartford yesterday afternoon 59-48. The Cougars stayed within striking distance throughout the game was down 4 points late in the fourth quarter. Some timely free throws by East Hartford sealed the win for them. The boys team fell to 4 and 5 and they play Sage Park at home this afternoon.
Today for lunch... In the Create line you can have French Toast Sticks, in the Grill line you can have Corn Dog and in the So Deli line you can have your choice of deli sandwiches. Have a great day, do your best, and remember to always strive for 5!
