  • Good Morning TE!  My name is Kat and my name is Hannah. We are 6th graders  and members of Girl Scout Troop 10943.  Our troop recently heard about a fellow TE student who experienced a fire in their home. We really want to help during this difficult time!  And we are hoping all of TE will want to help too.  Please consider donating a dollar (or more if you can) tomorrow that we can give the family to make this time a little easier.  Please bring your donation to your homeroom teacher tomorrow morning.  Your teacher will give you a sticker to wear that shows that you donated. There is a famous quote that shows how far $1 can go.  “Individually, we are one drop.  But together we are an ocean”  Let’s work together to do something big for this family. We hope you can make a small donation tomorrow and our TE classmate will see how much we all care. Thank you for helping!
  • Attention 6th graders...6th grade intramural basketball is beginning soon.  If you are interested, please pick up a registration packet in the main gym and return to Mrs. Hall or Mr. S by Friday, October 11th.  Registration is only open to the first 32 students.  The first session is October 16th.

  • Wondering about MathCounts? - Wonder no more.  We will have our first get together Friday, October 25.  Ask your math teacher for an informational flyer.  Stay tuned for a lot  more MathCounts information in coming days.

  • Today for lunch in the Create line you can have the Orange Glazed Chicken, in the Grill line you can have Cilantro Lime Chicken Panini and in the So Deli line you can have your choice of deli sandwiches. Have a good day and do your best to strive for five!

Right now the Sage team is in the lead, but many teams are close behind.  Keep up the great work! And don’t forget, there’s three $10 Starbucks gift cards up for grabs and tomorrow we’ll be drawing our raffle prize winners! You need to have raised at least $10 in donations by 8 pm tonight to be entered. Good luck!

  • Another congratulations goes out to the girls cross country team for their win against JFK yesterday.  Shennyn Giannelli was up front and all alone crossing the finish in just over 11 minutes.  Molly Caron pushed her way into the second position overall followed by Taylor Lord in third, both helping the team to their 15 to 47 win.  Two standout runs were made by 6th graders Sophia Gordon and Sophia Holovatska, who both moved up several positions within the team rankings.  The cougars look forward to the Harry Geraghty Invitational this Saturday at Nevers Park.  Good luck to all runners this weekend!  Just a reminder, there will be no cross country practice today, so please go home on your regular buses.

  • Attention all basketball fans! The 9th annual Kenny Offiaeli 3 on 3 tournament will be held on Friday November 8th in the main gym from 5:30-8:00. Forms are available in the girls and boys locker rooms.  All forms are due to the main office by Friday October 18th!  More information will be provided in your PE classes.

  • Monday afternoon was hot and humid but it wasn't able to stifle the boys cross country team, as they traveled to Enfield to notch their second victory of the season.  Sean Habeeb ran a smart race to pull away for the overall victory and Carlo Papa ran a great race to secure a third place finish and help the Cougars to a 19 to 43 win over JFK.  Blake Wool went out fast and finished well with an 8th place finish and Junior Heredia cruised in for a top 15 placement.  Elijah Chaimovitch showed smooth finishing speed by passing a couple JFK runners in the final moments even with only one good eye.  The boys will be back in action Saturday morning at Nevers park for their first invitational meet of the season.

  • TE Field Hockey team played their first game of the season at JFK of Enfield. The Patriots first drive came up quick but the Cougars defense shut them down with leadership of goalie Angelina Bellizzi. TE took control of the game shortly after with a quick goal by Rachel Turrer.  Scoring second for the Cougars was Abby Bergstrom, her first of two on the day. Avery Yelle scored twice, including a beautiful one time rocket shot with an assist by Rachel Turrer. Also scoring was Hailey Deptula, Sarah Stoddard, Meredith Pinto and Jillian Yelle. TE finished with a score of 9-0, Angelina Bellizzi was credited with the shutout. In the second game TE came out with a 0-0 tie. Playing well for the cougars was Caroline Jacobs, Izzy Dzubin, Kaleigh Aparo and Grace Perkins. Elsa Gately was credited with the shutout in her first appearance in goal. TE plays Suffield at home on Thursday. Come out and support the cougars!!

Are you a positive role model? Are you trustworthy and can you keep confidentiality? Do you take peoples' problems seriously? If you have answered yes to all, then it sounds like you may be interested in filling out an application to become a Peer Mediator. It’s that time of year for any 6th grader who’s interested in becoming a Peer mediator to apply now! Not sure what to do? Well, first of all, you need to complete a Peer Mediation Application Packet which you can get from your Social Studies teacher on your team. When the application is fully completed, your counselor or Social Studies teacher will turn it in for you to Mrs. Zalaski. Next, you will be contacted for an interview. After the interviews have taken place and all applications have been processed, you will be notified as to whether or not you have been selected to serve as a TEMS Peer Mediator.  Applications should be turned in NO LATER THAN Friday, October 4th. Good luck to all applicants!

Hi, Hola, Nameste, Konnichiwa, Hello, Ciao, Bonjour, Aloha, Howdy! All this week, we are going to have some fun making connections! In homeroom on Monday morning, you will be given a name tag. Please print your name on it and wear it all day. Say HELLO to EVERYONE you see on Monday! On Tuesday, make sure that you check out the Pinwheels for Peace display in front of TE. This reminds us to share peace and kindness with each other. Stay tuned for more activities throughout the week…  Let’s bring people together by simply saying HELLO to everyone!

  • The lady Cougars hosted their first home game of the season vs. Tolland yesterday afternoon. The game proved to be a true battle as both teams were fit and worked extremely hard. The Cougars struck first as Leighana Ferrabelo slotted a goal into the bottom corner to take the lead. The Cougars played exceptional in the first half with great passing in the midfield from Isabelle Beaulieu, Elise Suffish, Sam Grodovich, and Emerson Iacovelli. Shots on goal in the first half came from Arden Sansom and Katelyn Roux, with a few coming close to finding the back of the net. In the second half, the tides turned as Tolland found the net twice bringing the score to 2-1. Despite the outcome, the Cougars deserve much of the praise for all their hard work including amazing defensive efforts from Haley Testa, Sidney Montana, Huntyr Courtois, and Mikayla Evans. Goalkeeper Haley Butler recorded 12 saves on the day. The Cougars match up against JFK at home next Tuesday. Come out and support the team!

  • The Timothy Edward boys soccer team were back in action last night taking on the Tolland Eagles. The game was back and forth all night, however, the Cougars came out on top by the score of 2-1. The Cougars scored goals in both halves. The first was by Naol (Na-hol) Nifessa off a nice feed from Jake Gattuso. The Eagles scored a mere two minutes later bringing the score line to 1-1. The second half, the Eagles poured it on, however, the back line of Eric Montes de Oca, Vaughn Bizier, Jacob Gordon, and Alex Ezedine thwarted every opportunity they had. Jude Gonzalez made an appearance in goal and made three saves on the night. The second goal was scored by Taylor Legault of another feed from Gattuso. The Cougars are now 2-0 on the season. Congrats on the great win.

  • All students who are interested in working on the 2020 TEMS Yearbook should stop by Ms. Gravell's room, 123, for an application. • Congrats to the girls cross country team on their 22 to 39 victory over Ellington Tuesday.  The cougars took 8 of the top 10 positions with 6th grader Shennyn Giannelli finishing 1st overall in a time of 12 minutes and 12 seconds.  Alyssa Drenga left an Ellington runner in her wake with an intense kick up the final hill of the course coming in 3rd overall with Riley Baker not far behind in 5th place.  Rachel Richard had a strong performance at the finish as she out sprinted an Ellington runner at the last second.  The team looks forward to their next meet at JFK this Monday.  Good luck, ladies!

  • The boys cross country team had their first meet of the season on Monday afternoon, and if this race was an indication of things to come, the team should have an outstanding season.  TE traveled to the hilly Ellington course and came out looking impressive as Sean Habeeb flew down the finishing hill to take the overall victory, with Aidan Walsh right on his heels.  The Cougars, sporting their shiny new uniforms, had 10 of the first 12 runners to cross the line, as TE took the 21 to 40 victory. Colin Grip, Ollie Durbois, and Max Plunske rounded out the top 5 for the team, and Stewart Christophel ran to a solid 14th place finish as the first 6th grader to finish. The boys are back in action on Monday afternoon when they travel to Enfield to face JFK.
