  • Last night, the Lady Cougars hit the hard wood in search of revenge against JFK after the Patriots took it to them last time they met.  The first match-up was tight at first, then JFK blew the doors off for a 17 point win.  However, the Lady Cougars weren't having any of that this time around.  The ball moved briskly around the court, more than it has the last two games TE played.  Such good ball movement had the Lady Cougars up three at halftime.  Olivia Dzubin and Mia Haynes, who was out for 2 days with illness, both led the team with 11 points on the night.  Maddy Carpenter has really turned up her shooting and made two threes and a deuce for eight points, while Elise Glunt a force to re reckoned with on the defensive end, added four points to the cause.  Emily Keegan, also working to get more minutes, had two smart buckets in the third quarter while Shea Brouchu, America Bernier and Emmi Tushe had  7, 2 and 1 respectively.  "The team really performed well all night," Coach Chandler stated.  "To win by 11 points and rebound from a recent loss, really shows the girls are going to fight to the end, not matter what," he added.  The Lady Cougars play their last regular season game at East Hartford on Tuesday.  They, will be looking for revenge that night as well.  The final score last night was 48-37, a 28 point turn around.  Congratulations and good luck on Tuesday ladies.
  • The boys basketball team losing streak continues after dropping their third game in row against JFK yesterday in Enfield. A struggling offensive output led to the Cougars losing 45-38.  The boys are now 5-6 and look to end the streak Tuesday at home against East Hartford.
