  • Good morning everyone, please stand for the pledge of allegiance. I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands, one nation, under God, indivisible with liberty and justice for all. Please be seated.
  • Welcome back to another edition of TETV Morning News. Today is Thursday, December 21.
  • Student Council's Spirit week rolls on. Looking so fancy today, could have easily thought we were at the Oscars. Don't forget, tomorrow wraps up spirit week with Ugly Sweater Day! So bring out your tackiest holiday sweaters, sweater dresses, or any other crazy festive outfit.
  • Last Friday, 127 students gathered to participate in the annual MathCounts school competition.  The top 8 students will be moving on to the Hartford Chapter Competition. Congratulations to the following students who will be competing in February. Girish Prasad, Gian Handa, Aarav Pruthi, Henry Venne, Ishan Agarwal, Zarif Rahman, Danyel Reyes, and Satvik Koppu. A special shout out to Girish Prasad who was the second person in TEMS history to achieve a perfect score!
  • The Boys Basketball team lost to Illing Middle School 58-47 in Manchester. Outside shooting kept the Cougars in the game hitting eleven 3’s as a team. Turnovers led to some easy baskets for Illing and the Cougars fought back but it wasn’t enough.  The team fell to 1-1 for the season and they look to bounce back after vacation. There next game is away against Ellington on January 4th.
  • The Lady Cougars continued on their winning ways, beating Illing last night 32-20.  Shea Brochu led the Lady Cougars with 12 points, including three 3-pointers.  Maria Puniello added 6 points on the night as well.  TEMS was relentless from the start...opening up a 18-8 lead at halftime.  Key defensive efforts kept the Rams from getting anything going.  Adding to their lead after halftime, Allie Kupec finished a nice and-one midway through the fourth quarter.  Olivia Dzubin scored 4 points on the evening, Alex Gogic chipped in three, and both Elise Glunt and Emmi Tushe dropped a bucket each.  The Lady Cougars have a long extended break and get back at it after the holidays.  Congrats on a great game girls.
  • Attention students...to be able to attend a basketball game this year at TEMS, you must  sign up on a Google Form that will be posted at 6pm on the TE website the night before the game.  There is a limited number of student spectators that will be allowed to attend.  If you do not sign up, you will not be allowed to come to the game.  Parents are not allowed to drop off students at the start of the game unless they accompany you to the game.
  • Are you a 6th grader who would like to join a fun, new group during WIN period? Join Mrs. Reed and Ms. Mills for “Mood Boosters”! • It's the most wonderful time of the year!  Out of the Blue is ready to kick off 2024 with another amazing issue.  Out of the Blue is our school's literary magazine that features the wonderful writings and artwork of TE students and staff.  So whether you write poems or short stories, or whether you draw, paint, make comic strips, or are a photographer, we want to include your work.  Students who are interested in joining our club should plan to come to a meeting after the new year.  Stay tuned to the announcements for specific details.  Ms. Olsen can't wait to see all the returning members and to meet all the new members.  It's going to be an amazing year!
