  • Welcome back to another edition of TETV Morning News. Today is Tuesday, December 19.
  • Student Council's Spirit week has begun. Those wacky socks and hats are bringing the festive vibe for sure. Great job! Don't forget, tomorrow will be PJ Day, so dress in your warmest holiday PJs for a day of relaxing together. Thursday is Dress Your Holiday Best, and Friday is Ugly Sweater Day! We can't wait to see your spirit for the rest of the week!
  • Attention students attending the Open Skate at SW Arena Wednesday afterschool. Just a reminder to meet after school with your backpacks & skates if you have your own - in room 263 after dismissal.  Make sure to remind your parent/guardian to pick you up at 4:30. Reach out to Mrs. Roy or Mrs. McAvoy with any questions.
  • On Saturday, more than 70 TEMS debaters traveled to Smith Middle School in Glastonbury to participate in the Connecticut Middle School Debate League's Tournament. In the NOVICE Division, the team of Nevin Joseph and Jaden Shiju were a "perfect" 3-0 on the day, earning awards for their performance. Individual speaker awards were plentiful as Smirrthi Manikandan finished in the TOP 10 as the number 9 speaker out of a field of 222 debaters. In addition, Simone Kaur was named the #5 speaker and Yilin Lin was the top speaker from TEMS placing 4th! A total of 105 students entered this tournament in the Open Division,  with Keshav Prem finishing in 10th place and Aarav Pruthi was awarded a medal as the 4th place speaker of the tournament!  As a result of his top 5 finish, Aarav qualifies for the State Championship Tournament this spring. Congratulations Aarav - and great job by all TEMS debaters!
  • It's the most wonderful time of the year!  Out of the Blue is ready to kick off 2024 with another amazing issue.  Out of the Blue is our school's literary magazine that features the wonderful writings and artwork of TE students and staff.  So whether you write poems or short stories, or whether you draw, paint, make comic strips, or are a photographer, we want to include your work.  Students who are interested in joining our club should plan to come to a meeting after the new year.  Stay tuned to the announcements for specific details.  Ms. Olsen can't wait to see all the returning members and to meet all the new members.  It's going to be an amazing year!
  • Attention Robotics Club students, we will have our first official meeting tomorrow, 12/20 in Mr. Wilkinson's room 112 afterschool. At this meeting we will unveil the game and work to create teams. Eighteen more slots have just opened up for students, we will be emailing newly selected students by tomorrow . All students selected should attend the meeting Wednesday. We will see you there.
  • Do you want to be comfy on a Friday? Do you want to help kids who are in the hospital? Well, Student Council is hosting a donation drive so Connecticut Children’s, our local children’s hospital, can purchase toys for their patients. If we reach $200 by Thursday the 21st, we will have a school-wide pajama day on Friday January 5 after winter break! Envelopes will be passed out to homerooms, and we will also be in the lobby to collect donations. Monetary donations only, no physical toys. We and the patients at Connecticut Children’s thank you for your support.
