  • The girls soccer team won 5-3 against Suffield last night. Suffield scored early on in the first half and the Cougars were fired up. Kinsley Wood came back strong and fired one in the back of the net making the score 1-1. At the end of the first half the score was 3-2. The Cougars came back strong in the second half with two goals. Allison Marques and Sienna DiSalvatore scored the next two goals. Emily Gamble was a key component of the Cougar offense. Her hard work and outstanding goal was extremely noticed on the field last night. The Cougars face Enfield on Tuesday at home. Come out and support the team.
  • Last night the boys soccer team took on Suffield in a heated CRAL battle.  The tempo of the game was high, and the ball was buzzin' around.  It was generally back and forth until Logan Jackson drove the end line and cross the ball into the box.  After the keeper bobbled it, Zayd Sebro was there to pounce and quickly made it 1-0.  A shortened 1st half, due to a bus breakdown, the Cougars were up 1-0 at the break.  Physical play ensued in the second with TE pressing the Wildcats into their own half.  They had very few chances and Aniron Pal had little to do much of the match.  Our break in the second frame came about 10 minutes into the half when a handball was called against Suffield.  6th grader Logan Jackson was brave and stepped up to take the penalty, buried it and made the score 2-0.  Aaron Cherian increased the lead just minutes later off a nice feed from Haris Zhinipotoku.  Cherian took his time as calmly finished to the back post.  Garren Kerachsky, yet another 6th grader, finished the scoring by tapping in a cross/hot from Haris.  It was a 'Right place and right time' finish! The Cougars play away to JFK on Tuesday for their next game.
  • The Field Hockey team traveled to Suffield yesterday and won with a score of 8-0. Leading the scoring was Kinley Cincotta with 3 goals followed by Ainslee Deptula with 2. Tori Yelle, Emma Hennessy and Sarah Bonanno had one goal a piece. Ainslee led in assists with 4, followed by Tori with 2 and Lilah Boldic and Joanna Halle with 1. Not only are the coaches proud of the team, they are especially proud of our first year goalies Meg Aparo and Allie Scott for stepping up to play for both teams when the Suffield goalie was injured. Both Allie and Megan stopped some rocket shots from their own teammates so the game could continue. First year player Lilah Boldic did a nice job controlling the midfield along with Prithi Suriyankumar and Emily Carmon. Team captains Ainslee Deptula, Emily Carmon, Emma Davis, Molly Willard and Prithi Suriyankumar continue to amaze their coaches with their dedication and leadership. Great job ladies!!
