  • Good morning TE! This is Kaitlyn and this is Raina reporting on our upcoming Food Drive and Spirit Week. Starting on Monday, January 27th  through Friday, January 31st , we will be holding a food and household goods collection to support our local South Windsor Food and Fuel Bank. There are specific items that the pantry is in need of and this list will be posted in your team areas. Donations of a canned good/household item for the SW Food Pantry and/or $1 will be collected on Monday and Friday only. However, if you wish to donate on the other days as well, that would be very much welcomed and appreciated. THANK YOU!!! Your HR teachers will be collecting the $1 donations. And for some additional fun, look for the Super Bowl NFL logos by the donation boxes. You can show which team you want to win the Super Bowl by placing your donation in that box. In addition to holding this drive, we will be sponsoring a Spirit Week. So get ready to show your school spirit! It’s gonna be a really fun week, so don’t miss out on dressing up! And don’t forget to bring in your donation! Looking to see who’s got the most school spirit next week!! Below lists the spirit for each day next week.

Monday is Comfy/Cozy Day. Wear your most comfortable pjs or sweats. No blankets or stuffed animals please.

Tuesday is TE School Spirit Day. You can wear any clothing supporting TEMS sports, music, your team, school colors (purple, white, and black), etc.

Thursday is Grade Level Color Day! 6th graders will dress in green, 7th in red, and 8th in blue.

Friday, is Jersey/Sports Day!!! You can wear  your favorite sport’s  jersey, sweatshirt, etc. You can show off which team is your fav!

  • Attention all Timothy Edwards Middle School Jazz Ensemble members, please remember to report directly to the band room at noon today. There will be plenty of pizza for lunch so bring your appetite as well.

  • Attention all students who love to sing and dance: Auditions for the South Windsor High School Show Choir "Choral Spectrum" will be held in late February.  More info will be sent out once the exact date is set.  In preparation, two high school Choral Spectrum members will be holding clinics to sharpen skills and answer questions.  These optional clinics will be held on this Friday, January 24 and also on Friday February 7th in the TEMS auditorium.  Students from all three grades are invited to attend.  Whether you are an 8th grader planning to audition, or you just want to learn more about what Show Choir is like, pick up a flyer located outside of the chorus room, room 145, for more information.
  • Out of the Blue will meet after school this coming Monday January 27, in room 312 in the Garnet hallway.  Please bring your notebook, any submissions you have made, and something to write with.  If you are unable to attend, please see Ms. Olsen before Monday.
  • Last night the Lady Cougars traveled to Ellington to take on the Wild Cats in a C R A L battle. The Lady Cougars fell in the contest, 32-17. Defensively the Lady Cougars put up a good fight, holding the Wildcats to less than 10 points a quarter. Leading the Cougars was Angie Santiago with eight points, Reagan Heafy-Deangelis had three free throws, while Avery Brochu, Emerson Iacovelli, and Brooke Stapleton each had a bucket. The Lady Cougars travel to Sage Park on Monday night, then again on Wednesday, when they take on East Hartford.

  •  The boys basketball team had a convincing win against Ellington.  The Cougar's pressure defensive led to the 66-43 victory.  A third quarter run with three straight three-pointers sealed the win. The Cougars are now 5-3 and face Sage Park on Monday at TE.

  • At the conclusion of a marathon length regional MOCK TRIAL tournament last evening, most teams prevailed in one round but could not complete the two victories needed to automatically advance to the next round of competition. However, congratulations are in order for the TEMS BLUE team who won BOTH rounds of trials, despite marauding raccoons, DEEP woods adventures and awkward tick checks... TEMS BLUE team automatically advanced to the State Tournament at a date to be determined. CONGRATS to all Mock Trial participants from TEMS!!

  • Today for lunch in the Create line you can have French Toast, in the Grill line you can have Chicken Meatball Sub and in the So Deli line you can have your choice of deli sandwiches. Have a great day and do your best to strive for five!

If you have any questions about the GSA, please see Mrs. Zaugg in Room 332 (Pacific Team). We look forward to seeing you at our first meeting after school on Wednesday, January 30th.
