  •  Yesterday afternoon, your first-place TE Cougars hosted the Tolland Falcons and proved why they're sitting atop the league standings.  The TE offense scored runs in every inning to secure a decisive 14 to 4 victory.  Leading the charge was Will Baron who had three singles and an RBI. Lucas Paauwe and Ryan Browning each smacked a double and drove in two runs. Torin Edwards chipped in with two singles, and Landon LeRoy added a double and an RBI.  It wasn't just the bats that were working for the Cougars. Their defense came up big in crucial moments. Landon LeRoy made a spectacular running catch in the outfield, and Nidal Elder had a key defensive play, both with runners in scoring position and two outs, shutting down potential rallies by the Falcons.  On the pitching side, the Cougar staff was dominant, allowing only two hits the entire game. Will Baron came in as relief pitcher and slammed the door on the Tolland hitters to earn his first win of the season. To cap it off, Lucas Paauwe took the mound for the final inning and needed just ten pitches to strike out the side!  With the win, the Cougars improved to a perfect 9-0 record! They'll be back in action today as they travel to Vernon, looking to hit double digits in the win column. Go Cougars!
