- Good morning, TE students! You are all invited to participate the first annual TEMS Debate Day on Tuesday May 27th! Get a few of your friends together and spend an afternoon debating. There will be food, prizes and debate fun! Participate in three rounds of debate, and receive prizes for best team, speaker, and sportsmanship! If you aren’t already in the Debate Google Classroom, join the classroom with code d e e c j r r, all lowercase, and click the registration link in stream. We hope to see you there!
- Thank you again to all the TE students who voted for their favorite 2025 Intermediate and Middle School Nutmeg Nominee. The student votes across the state have been tallied and here are the winners: The 2025 Intermediate Nutmeg Winner is: Invisible by Christina Diaz Gonzalez and the 2025 Middle School Nutmeg Winner is: Starfish by Lisa Fipps! Come check out these latest Nutmeg winners if you never got a chance to read them the first time around.
- The softball team achieved an impressive victory, defeating Ellington Middle School with a score of 22 to 0 last evening. Pitcher Josie Tomkunas delivered a strong performance, throwing 3 innings and striking out 5 of the 10 batters faced, while the defense played a crucial role. In the 4th inning, Emma Rutkauskas stepped in and struck out 4 out of the 10 batters she encountered. TE took charge early, gaining a 5 to 0 lead in the first inning and gradually adding runs to reach 9 to 0 by the start of the 5th inning. During a hitting rally, they scored an astonishing 12 runs. Lila Sheridan, Katie Hubbard, and Meghan Donovan each contributed with multiple hits. Josie Tomkunas hit two doubles, while Emma Rutkauskas, Riley Quigley, Claire Kaminski, and Teresa Gudauskas each added a double as well. Additionally, first baseman Raegan Burnham hit a home run. Great job, ladies! Come out and support your Lady Cougars tomorrow at TE as they face their toughest opponent, Sage Park Middle School, the only team to hand them a loss. Good luck, ladies!
- The TE Boys track team finished out their last regular season home meet with a bang. Going against opponents East Hartford and Suffield, the TE boys gave it their all to pull off the victory. As a team, the boys defeated East Hartford 91-14 and Suffield 87-18. The 4x100 relay team of Gavin W. Liam S., Caiden G., and Adam E. wiped out the competition scoring a new season best. In the 800 meter, Aiden P., Connor Hall, and Ishaan Ray secured the top three spots - scoring crucial points for the Cougars. In the throws, Vihaan Ragi and Sharaj Singh both scored huge new personal bests! Not to mention that Spiderman himself showed up to run for TE yesterday. The Cougars compete again at the CRAL championship meet this Thursday. Good luck boys!
- Yesterday, our TE girls track team crushed it with another huge win, beating both East Hartford and Suffield in dominating fashion. Final scores? TE defeated East Hartford 82 to 19, and rolled past Suffield 88 to 16.There were so many standout performances in both track and field events. For example, Arianna Mowatt soared to a 14'3" long jump, placing her 6th in the TEMS Top Ten Record Book! The 4x100 relay team of Mia LeRoy, Sasha Staroverov, Sarah Krivickas, and Harper Kelly dominated their event with excellent speed and teamwork. In the hurdles, Charlotte Zhang and Julia Bryson were top contenders, showing strength and focus. And in the 800-meter run, Ally Truong, Saanvi Nigam, and Emma Hennessey swept the race, taking 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places. Congratulations again to all of our athletes — keep up the amazing work, and as always... Let’s go Cougars!
