  • The TE baseball team continued their winning streak yesterday afternoon, defeating Vernon at home with a decisive victory, 8 to 1. The Cougars are now 3-0 on the season. The game started with an exciting defensive play in the top of the first inning when catcher Aiden Silvestro threw out an Eagle runner attempting to steal third base. The Cougars' offense got rolling quickly in the bottom of the first. Corbyn Falco drew a walk, stole second base, and then scored the first run of the game when Ryan Browning hit a sharp single. TE continued to add runs throughout the contest, maintaining a comfortable lead.  Colin Ledoux delivered the knockout blow in the bottom of the sixth inning, hitting a clutch bases-loaded single up the middle to seal the victory. Brody Kelly also had a strong offensive showing, finishing the game with two singles. On the pitching side, Torin Edwards was dominant on the mound for the Cougars. He pitched an impressive five and one-third innings, allowing only one hit and striking out a remarkable ten Vernon batters to earn the win. The Cougars are on the road today as they face Ellington. Good luck boys!
