- Welcome back to another edition of TETV Morning News. Today is Friday, February 7.
- In girls basketball news, the TEMS Lady Cougars finished their regular season on Wednesday beating Suffield 38-26. With the victory, TE secured the number one seed in the CRAL tournament, and go into the tournament with an undefeated record at 12-0. Eleven of the fourteen players scored for TE with no player scoring more than six points on the night. A balanced scoring attack has been the M-O of the Lady Cougars all season. Different players step up on different nights. On Wednesday, Olivia Dzubin led all scorers and both her buckets were on three pointers. TE exploded in the first quarter finally, jumping out to a 16-4 lead after the first. Suffield gained some traction in the second closing the gap but still trailed 22-14 heading into the second half. A slow quarter in the third saw TE extend it's lead thirteen. The bucket seemed to have a lid on it as TE had trouble scoring around the rim, especially in the third. In the fourth, both teams traded buckets for most of the quarter and TE saw out the game in the end. "It's been a great season thus far," Coach Chandler said. "Being undefeated heading in to the playoffs is an accomplishment in it of itself...but that doesn't mean we've won anything. The second season starts now and we are looking forward to finishing the season strong," he added. TE will host the semi finals on Tuesday after school with the winner of that game taking on the winner of the other semi-finalist. Good luck ladies and go win that championship.
