- Good morning everyone, please stand for the pledge of allegiance. I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands, one nation, under God, indivisible with liberty and justice for all. Please be seated.
- Welcome back to another edition of TETV Morning News. Today is Thursday, September 26.
- Yesterday the TEMS boys cross country team took a win against Illing and Vernon as they crushed the rocky rough terrain at Vernon Center Middle School. Conquering the hilly course to take spots three through nine were: Cayden Poehnert, Tommy Stewart, Aiden Pilatti, Connor Hall, Brandon Willcox, Evan Taylor and Ethan Tozier. Shaunak Tamhane was right behind to nab the eleventh spot and Peyton Goudreault tore into the finish to edge out a VCMS runner. Peyton Soran improved his time by over a minute! Congratulations to the team and good luck in your meet on Monday.
- The girls Cross Country team was victorious in their meet against Illing MS and Vernon Middle School. Top runners included Jana Brownbill, Greta Johnson, Charlotte Zhang, Saanvi Nigam, Lillian Magnoli, and Emily Bryan.
- The field hockey team played a well fought game but came away with a 4-1 loss to a very talented club team from Glastonbury. Glastonbury dominated the first half, but Joanna Halle, Tori Yelle, Sarah Bonanno, and Reagan Burnham put the pressure on Glastonbury's defense resulting in a goal by Mackenzie Mason. Maggie Melia was stellar on defense along with Ari Coco, Evie Beaulieu, and Natalie Goodrich. TE's next game is away vs Suffield middle school. Thanks for all who came out to support the team.
- Last night, the Timothy Edwards boys soccer team traveled to Suffield Middle School to take on the Wildcats. TE played like they were shot out of a canon going up 2-0 in less than six minutes. Liam Staroverov scored unassisted while Dylan Leacu smashed home a pass from Haris Zhinipotoku. Leacu then scored another, with a pure header past the keeper’s feet, once again assisted by Haris. Suffield got one back after a misplaced pass to the keeper. Haris struck again for the Cougars to make it 4-1. Adam Elsendyouney streaked onto a driven ball from Hussein Taleb to make it 5-1. Suffield scored two more goals in the half by simply playing the ball over the top and their speedster of a forward got on the end of them. In the second half, Leacu bullied his way through defenders to score his third of the game. Suffield tallied late and made it 6-4, which was the final score. The Cougars next play at Tolland on Friday. Good job boys!
