  • Welcome back to another edition of TETV News. Today is Tuesday, May 10th. Don't forget, our spirit day for tomorrow is Support Ukraine Day. So wear your best Blue and Gold outfit to show support.
  • Attention all sports fans, if you plan on attending the softball or baseball games, you will NOT be dismissed from your last period class until the last bus is called..."all students are now dismissed."  Students will then walk to the cafeteria to meet the game supervisor and sign in.  From there, students attending the game will walk out to the field as a group.  At 4:10pm, all students will sign out and go (with a supervisor) to the parking lot for parent pickup or to the cafeteria to wait for your late bus on Monday, Wednesday and/or Thursday game days.
  • All track athletes, please stop by the main office TODAY and pick up a photo order form.  They need to go home today and you need to bring them to practice Friday for our team photo session.  Thank you.
  • The boys track team hosted Illing and East Hartford on Monday at the high school.  The Cougars bounced back after a tough defeat last meet.  Trestan Calloway had a masterful performance, winning the 100 and 200 meter dash, setting a personal best in the 55m hurdles, and helping the 4x100 relay team crack the TE Top Ten with Mathias Baidoo, Jaden Bridgeforth, and Avaneesh Savkar.  Blake Wool cruised to an easy victory in the 800 meter run.  Mathias, Matt Habeeb, and Maxwell Stoddard swept the high jump.  Andrew Glatt set a new personal best in the discus, throwing over 101 feet.  And Holden Crane!  He is now the owner of the #1 overall record for shot put, throwing 35 feet, the first time that has ever been done in TE history!  The boys won with a score of 58 points.  Illing had 43 and East Hartford finished with 13.  The Cougars will face off against Ellington next Monday at home before heading to the CRAL Championship Meet.
  • Yesterday, at SWHS, the TE girl's track team competed against Illing and East Hartford Middle Schools. The meet came with a victory and loss. Although the girl's team put forth a great effort, they came up short and lost against Illing 54-46.  The team did have a victory against East Hartford with a score of 46-14.  Izzy Carpenter, Olivia Stoner, and Meghan Foster swept the 1600-meter run.  Kashish took 3rd place in the hurdles with Abby and Annabel Ambooken closely behind.  Maddie Osorio and Sadhana jumped over 13 feet in the long jump with Zoe Bailey and Annabel Ambooken within range jumping 12'6".  Bella Panek, Abby Stoner, and Audrey Zhang threw astonishing distances in the shot put.  And discus was a fun event to see with Izzy Dzubin, Ioana, Audrey, and Bella taking the lead with their throws. Caroline Cavanaugh impressed the crowd by jumping 4'8" in the high jump. Keeley Scott came out of nowhere in the 200-meter run, winning 3rd place. The girls will be competing again next Monday at SWHS against Ellington.
