  • Good morning everyone, please stand for the pledge of allegiance. I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands one nation, under God, indivisible with liberty and justice for all. Please be seated.
  • Welcome back to another edition of TETV Morning News. Today is Friday, October 21st.
  • The boys cross country team traveled to Ellington for one of the final meets of the season. TE was ready to run, but the hills of Ellington got the best of TE despite Jefferey Zeng's first-place finish and other strong finishes from TE, which included Erik Edstrom, Gavin Lippi, Karthik Srikumar, Derek Bifolck, and Karthik Prem. Other highlights from the meet despite the loss were Alex Larmand, who had one of his best meets of the season, Akilan Anand's strong race, and Shane Bergeron's who had a great run and strong finish. Congrats on a great meet. Good luck next week.
  • Girls cross country had to fight hard to defend their undefeated status against Ellington last night with a very close score of 27 to 28.  Winning 1st place out of 49 runners was sixth grader Jana Brownbill in a speedy time of 12:58 with two Ellington runners right on her heels all the way to the finish.  Chiamaka Chidiadi also held off two Ellington runners by mere seconds as she powered through the end.  Erin Fang killed the hills as she led the start of the race fearlessly and finished in the top 5 TE runners and top 10 overall.  Viki Hariharan had a courageous finish as she was trailing an Ellington runner but was determined to get the win in the final yards as she passed Ellington right at the end.  Working her way into the top 10 runners for TE was Jozie Waniewski who ran a well paced race in excellent form throughout the meet.  Well done runners!  Good luck at your last home meet this Tuesday against Sage Park!
  • The TEMS girls soccer team defeated East Hartford yesterday afternoon with a score of 8-0. In the first half, the Cougars looked sharp with exceptional passing and execution in the final third. The Cougars were happy to welcome back Teagan Purcell from injured reserve, who made a stunning performance with some outstanding hustle. In the first half, the Cougars hit early and hit hard leading the half by 6 goals. Alina Zajac had 2 goals and 2 assists on the day, additional scoring came from Kylah Wood with 2, Aleksa Zajac, Lily Jaworski, and Annabel Ambooken each with 1. In the second half, the Cougars possessed the ball and displayed composure in their efforts to keep the play moving. The team's back line including Shea Brochu, Allison Marques, Jenna Martin, Nora Carty and Julia Thorn were simply untouchable. However, play of the game came from the solo effort of Ari Flores who nimbly took a touch of the ball and then chipped it in from outside the box. Lastly, none of this would have been recorded if it wasn't for the incredible eyes and penmanship of TE's beloved manager Emery Forko, who diligently details descriptions of the team's performance and statistics. The Cougars hold a record of 10-0-1 as they head into their final week of regular season play.
  • The Boys soccer team kept it's winning ways going last night beating the Falcons of East Hartford 3-1.  Liam Staroverov scored the first goal for the Cougars and they went into halftime up 1-0.  Tanush Mohapatra scored on a free kick just three minutes into the second half, increasing the Cougar lead to two.  The Falcons grabbed one back on a redirected clear with about 15 minutes to go in the contest.  However, Chirag Balaji found Stefan Gogic on the left wing and he cushioned his shot past the keeper to round out the scoring.  Mason Smith filled in nicely in goal making a crucial save towards the end of the game.  He was one on one with their best player and he had a wonderful kick save to thwart the attack.  The Cougars now sit at 8-1-1 on the season with two games left to play in the league. Congrats on the 3-1 win boys!
