  • The girls soccer team hosted Sage Park and brought home a 9-0 victory. The Cougars proved that their ability was simply too much from the first whistle, as Gianna DiSalvatore scored within the first minute of play. DiSalvatore, along with Kylah Wood, Hailey Olints, and Kinsley Wood were all able to score a pair on the day. Abigail Ambooken was also able to add to the tally with the assist credited to Alina Zajac. Outstanding performance was had by Hailey Olints who scored two exceptional goals off a one time cross from Abigail Ambooken, as well as a solo strike into the bottom left corner. Assists on the day were numerous and came from Abigail Ambooken, Lilly Jaworski, Julia Thorne, and Aleksa Zajac. The TE back four was consistent as Ari Flores, Shea Brochu, Nora Carty, and Jenna Martin remained organized and kept the ball moving to attack. However, play of the game came from Kylah Wood who gracefully headed in a cross from Alina Zajac. Wood's goal currently stands as the only goal scored from a header by a TEMS girl's player in the last 8 years. The Cougars remain undefeated on the season as they travel to East Hartford on Thursday.
  • The Timothy Edwards boys soccer team traveled to Windsor last night to take on Sage Park. The Cougars were able to come away with the victory 3 to 2. The first half the Cougars did not perform to their ability, and were down two zero on two looping efforts from the Chargers. The Cougars, after a half time talk with Coach Chandler came out clawing their way back into the game. A long range effort from Alex Ndiaye brought the Cougars back into the match. Jack Cinxo then stepped up to a free kick from about 20 yards away, and blasted it into the roof of the net making it 2 to 2. With renewed energy, the Cougars never looked back. After just stepping into the field, Blake Lyons headed in what proved to be the game winner with about 8 minutes to go.. the cross was put in by Tanush Mohapatra. It was a big result for the Cougars as they sit atop the CRAL standings. TE play East Hartford at home on Thursday. Come out and cheer on the boys.
