  • The Timothy Edwards middle school boys soccer team competed against Suffield for the first time in recent history. The game started off slow as the Cougars went down 1–0 early in the first half. Dalton Crane and Sam Valesquez came on as substitutes and controlled the back line and the Wildcats from Suffield didn’t get another real chance. That’s the only sight of goal they had all game. At the end of the first half Tanoush Mohapatra took a long range effort over the goalkeeper to knot the score at one. The second half was much of the same as the Cougars dominated play. Once again MohaPatra had a chance and took it with a shot from 20 yards out. After some slick passing, Jack Cinxo received a pass from Alex Ndiaye and buried his chance to make the score 3–1. The final whistle blew, and the Cougars were victorious again. They now have a record of 5-0-1. The Cougars play again today after school against Ellington. Come out and cheer on the boys!
  • The TEMS girls soccer team defeated Suffield 7-0 yesterday afternoon in Cougar Stadium. The scoring opened with Lily Jaworski assisting Alina Zajac, slotting the ball into the corner of the goal. Zajac tallied two goals and one assist on the day. Rounding out the half, Maddie Edwards rallied the team with a cheeky chip off the goalkeeper's hands bringing the score to 2-0. In the second half, the Cougars began to put the pressure on with a driven cross from Kylah Wood onto the foot of Hailey Olints, who easy found the back of the net. The Cougars dominated in the midfield and wide areas with the relentless energy from Abigail and Annabel Abooken, who never seemed to stop moving on the field. Additionally, outstanding performance from Shea Brochu who squashed a number of Suffield attacks. However, the play of the game came from Allison Marques who tee'd up a free kick from over 40 yards out, and with a world-class strike sent the ball over the head of the goalkeeper and into the back of the net. The outstanding strike was certainly one for the highlight reel. Another memorable moment was Kylah Wood earning an assist by finding her sister Kinsley Wood who slotted the goal home. Between the pipes, Hannah Kowalchik and Olivia Lopez were both tested on the day, and each recorded a handful of saves from some deserving chances. The Cougars travel to face Ellington  this afternoon's CRAL matchup.
