  • Welcome back to another edition of TETV Morning News. Today is Friday, October 7th.
  • TE field hockey came away with a 1-1 tie against  a more experienced team from Enfield.  Carly Jarvis had a beautiful one time goal off a rocket assist from Tori Yelle.  Tori Yelle finished with a goal to tie the game up in the last half of the game.  Once again Prithi Suriyakumarr dominated the defensive  half of the field with fine play coming from Ainslee Deptula, Emily Carmon, Sarah Lambert, and Kendall Woods.  TE's next game is away vs Somers.
  • The TEMS girls soccer team proved to be too much to handle yesterday afternoon, defeating Sage Park with a final score of 10-2. The Cougar's ability to possess and move the ball outmatched their opponent with outstanding technique and relentless energy. The scoring opened with a tap in by Gianna DiSalvatore from a free kick deflecting off the cross bar from Kylah Wood. Highlights on the day included Kylah Wood scoring a flying volley off a cross from Alina Zajac, a series of flawless passes involving Maddie Edwards and Pratheeka Dyava ultimately finding Aleksa Zajac for a clinical top shelf finish, as well as Julia Thorne's absolute screamer from 20 yards out sending the bench into a frenzy. Additional goals on the day were scored by Alina Zajac, Pratheeka Dyava, Maddie Edwards, Lily Jaworski, and Hailey Olints. Overall, the girls never took their foot off the gas as Shea Brochu, Jenna Martin, and Annabel Ambooken remained clinical in the defensive end with tackles and ball distribution. The Cougars look forward to facing their next opponent on Tuesday at home vs. Suffield. Come out and support the team!
  • The TEMS Boys soccer team played host to Sage Park of Windsor last night in CRAL battle.  The two team are atop the standing and the game didn't disappoint.  Windsor was on the board first off a simple ball through.  The Cougars responded well and had multiple chances in front of the Charger goal but couldn't capitalize. In the second half, the Cougars kept pressing.  Finally, Blake Lyons intercepted a pass from a Windsor defender and was in on goal alone.  He calmly slotted the ball past the keeper to draw the score level at one.  Both teams had a couple late chances but the score line remained 1-1 in the end.  The Cougars play next Wednesday against Ellington at home so come out and cheer on the boys.
  • Don't forget to sign up for the Walk A Thon before THE END OF THE DAY TODAY to earn a homework pass.
