  •  The Cougars improved their record to 2-1 with a 65-45 victory over JFK in Enfield.  A well balanced offense and pressure defense led to the win. A second quarter run helped the Cougars establish a 12 point lead at halftime which helped secure the victory. The game against Ellington at home has been postponed and will be made up at a later date. The Cougars next game is East Hartford on January 11.

  •  The lady Cougars traveled to Ellington last Thursday night to take on the Wildcats in a CRAL border battle. Unfortunately, the lady Cougars were outmuscled on the boards and fell to the wildcats 37 to 18. Morgan Bridgeforth led all scorers for TEMS with six points. The contest was close at halftime even though TE had to endure serious foul trouble the entire first frame. Ellington came out firing on all cylinders and took a commanding lead, heading into the fourth quarter. Unfortunately, the girls couldn’t muster a comeback in the end. “Ellington is a strong team and have some excellent players,” Coach Chandler said after the game. “I’m glad our players competed against hard,” he added. The lady Cougars’ next game is tomorrow after school against East Hartford.
