  • Good morning everyone. Please stand for the pledge of allegiance: I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands one nation, under God, indivisible with liberty and justice for all. Please be seated.
  • Welcome back to another edition of TETV News. Today is Monday November 8th.
  • Attention all writers, photographers, artists, and content creators! Out of the Blue is accepting submissions for the school literary magazine.  We are looking for short stories, poetry, drawings, and photography that is connected to the season of Autumn.  These can include reflections on important holidays, returning to school, and yes, even though Halloween is over, we would still love to have your good, scary stories.   Let your creativity come out and share it with the school by emailing your work to Mr. Meyer, or by dropping it off directly to room 280.  The deadline is November 25th.
  • Attention all students interested in trying out for the TEMS Cougars Cheer Team.  The TEMS Cheerleading Team practices daily after school, cheers at all home boys and girls basketball games, and competes at one local competition per season. Tryouts begin Monday, November 29th, Tuesday, November 30th, and Thursday December 2nd from 2:45-4:00. All sports forms with a doctor's note must be turned in prior.  Please email Mrs. Edwards with any questions.
  • The boys cross country team wrapped up their season on Saturday with a strong showing at the State Meet at Wickham Park.  Stewart Christophel and Blake Wool finished in 45th and 49th place and both earned medals for being in the top 50 of over 1000 runners between all the boys races.  Evan West, Robert Valen, Matt Habeeb, Griffin Satalino and Daniel Guimond also ran well in the championship race to help the Cougars finish a very solid 15th out of 49 teams.  Erik Edstrom led the way for TE in the B race, finishing way up in 24th.  Jerry Zhu and Gagandeep Parasa also earned medals with top 50 finishes with many other South Windsor runners close behind running great races.  Congratulations to the team on a great season and thank you to Stewart, Blake, Daniel and Owen Jerr for strong leadership as the team captains.
  • The girls cross country team had an amazing finish to their season at the Middle School State Championship at Wickham Park on Saturday.  The Cougars finished in 7th of 48 teams across the state with strong showings in both the A and B races.  In the 2.3 mile A race, the top 7 TE runners ran close together, finishing within a minute and 12 seconds of each other.  Congrats to Lavanya and Izzy for each earning a medal as they finished top 50 in the state.  This team has real depth of strong runners, with Caroline, Rachel, Meghan, Akithmi, and Liv all in the top 135 of 325 of the fastest feet across Connecticut.  Natalie fearlessly led the 1.7 mile B race finishing in 8th of 247 runners.  Natalie, Sophia, Jozie, Ayla, and Olivia all finished top 50, for a record breaking 7 medals for the team.  TE showed no fear in the face of the uphill finish as they maintained their mantra "kill the hills".  Especially impressive was Jewel and Chiamaka who leaned into the hill and powered across the finish together.  Running well and showing great sportswomanship was Mallory, who despite coming back from a persistent injury, never let it dampen her spirits as she always showed great support for teammates.  Congratulations to all runners on an awesome season.
  • Attention all winter sport athletes...registration is now open for cheerleading and boys and girls basketball.  Registration instructions are located on the TEMS Athletics Website.  The deadline to register in Monday, November 22nd.
