  • A huge congratulations to the girls cross country team on their victory against Tolland and St. James last night, completing their season with a perfect 6-0 record.  Tolland, living up to their solid running reputation, was a challenge to defeat with 5 runners in the top ten trailing closely behind TE with a final score of 25-30.  St. James put forth a great effort, but TE dominated with a score of 15-50.  Looking strong for TE was Olivia Doran, who turned on her turbo powers as usual and killed it across the finish taking nearly 2 minutes off her best time.  Frankie Germano also made a remarkable personal record by 2 minutes as she cruised through the finish.  Kaashvi Bagga had her best race of the season running a smart, well-paced race as she worked with a teammate to meet her goal.  Finally, taking an astounding 3 minutes and 24 seconds off her season best time was Jane Carty.  Way to go, Jane!  As a team, the Cougars took over 24 minutes off personal records in one single meet.  Impressive work!  The cross country teams look forward to their league meet Thursday at Charter Oak Park.  Good luck to all runners!
  • The boys cross country team finished off their regular season with a 4 and 2 record after a split of a tri meet on Thursday afternoon.  Stewart Christophel led the Cougars, earning the overall victory, as TE took down St James 25 to 30 but fell to Tolland 31 to 26.  Gavin Lippi, Nevin Joseph and Lucas Beaulieu all ran great races as they each took off over a minute and 20 seconds off their best home course times.  The team is back in action next Thursday when they travel to Manchester for the league championship meet.
