  • This week is a Cougar week - Cougar Countdown Day!
  • On Saturday, a small group of boys from the track team traveled to Manchester High School to compete in the State Championship Track Meet.  The conditions weren't ideal as the boys battled wind, rain, and cold throughout the meet, but they pushed forward.  Trestan Calloway and Kyden Merlin made it to the 100 meter finals.  Trestan ended up finishing 8th in the state, while Kyden just barely missed out on first, earning 2nd place.  Trestan also made it into the 55m Hurdles finals, where he finished 7th overall. Naol Tirfessa and Shawn Baidoo finished 10th and 12th respectively.  Nivaen Giritharan nearly made it into the top ten in the 400 and 800, finishing 12th and 11th in those events.  Mathias Baidoo, one of only 3 6th graders to qualify in the 200, ran very strong!  Sonit Shah gave it his all, but the elements proved to be a tough match.  Jacob Pflederer and Makai Payne finished 5th and 7th in the Discus on a day where they could barely get their footing or grip. Ethan Hunt and Will Campbell gave it their best shot, but came up short. Noah Gransinger finished in 8th place in the High Jump, just barely beating out Matt Habeeb for a medal. It was a gutsy performance by all of the boys who poured everything they had into the season.  Thank you to all the boys on a fantastic season and for all of the energy you brought every day!!!  Go Cougars!!!

  • Congrats to the TEMS Girl's Track Team.  This past Saturday, the TEMS Girl's Track Team went to the State Meet and WON 1st place!! They showed up to clinch the title and they achieved it!   The weather was horrible, but that did not seem to matter to the girls.  They not only battled the best of the best athletes in the state, but they had to do it all in 40-degree temperatures, wind, and rain.  The meet started with the 55-meter hurdles in the pouring rain.  That didn't seem to stop TE though-  6th grader, Sadhana Ganesan- took first in the State following with Kashish Kodnaney in 4th, Makayla McGrath in 8th, with Peyton Bennett and Izabella McKenna hot on their heels.   The next event was the 100, and once again TE dominated.  Susan Otaluka won first place by .01 of a second, with Emery Forko and Madelyn Syme came in close behind.   In the 1600 meter run, Isabelle Carpenter took 11th out of 32 with a mile time of 5:57!   Susan Otaluka also took 6th place in the 200 meters run with Emery Forko, Mia Ruiz and Natalie Czop coming in right after her.  Natalie Czop and Mia Ruiz were a force to be wrecked within the 400-meter run, Natalie won 3rd place and Mia won 7th in the state!   The last running event for the day was the 800-meter run, ran by Izabelle Carpenter and Avery Brochu.  Isabelle Carpenter, who took 7th place overall, and Avery Brochu taking 11th place out of 38 competitors.  Great job running girls! While the running events went well, the fielding events were just as impressive!  Having to jump and throw in the wind and rain was grueling at times.  But that didn't stop the TE Cougars!  In the shot put, Rachel Turer earned 4th place with Ioana Luangpraseuth defeating 12 other girls for her spot!  In the discus, Rachel Turer earned 2nd place, Ioana Luangpraseuth earned 6th, Julia Jaworski took 7th, and Audrey Zhang came in 9th!  Caroline Cavanaugh earned 2nd in the state in the high jump- also breaking into the TEMS Top Ten Records with her height of 4'6".  Nadine Abunasra, Makayla McGrath, Mallory Mead also earned points for the team for their high jump heights too.  In Long Jump, Kyra Soucy took 8th place and Sadhana Ganesan took 12th. Nice work ladies!  Congrats on 1st place- we are all very proud of you!

  • TEMS Entertainers produced a remote version of School House Rock Live! Jr. that is available for all to stream and enjoy for a small fee. A small but dedicated group of TE student Entertainers showed up for rehearsals after school online, learned their songs, dances and lines at home and uploaded their individual performances.  Mr. Goric edited them all together for our first and hopefully only remote  production.  Go to the TEMS homepage and click on the School House Rock link for more information.
