  • Welcome back to another edition of TETV Morning News. Today is Monday, December 16.
  • TEMS spirit week for next week is here. So excited to see the White Out this morning, and were not talking about the snow! Great job with the outfits today. Don't forget, tomorrow is  Wear Your Favorite Holiday Headwear or Crazy Socks. Wednesday is Dress as your Favorite Winter Movie Character. Thursday is Dress Your Best and Friday is Ugly Sweater Day. We cannot wait to see what you wear for the rest of the week!
  • Attention basketball fans, the TE basketball season it about to begin.  In order to attend the games, you must register.  The registration Google Form will be posted on the TE website the night before the game starting at 6pm.  There are a limited number of seats available for each game.  
  • Hey, hey, hey, Entertainers! If you're scheduled for a call back audition today, please report to ALT 6 immediately after school. Break a leg! All other cast and crew, lists will be posted by tomorrow 12/17 so check the Google Classroom tomorrow. Everyone should be at our first rehearsal on Wednesday 12/18, and bring a 1-inch binder to hold your script. See you then!
  • Saturday was another great day for the TEMS Debate Club. Eighty [80] TE Debaters representing a total of 30 teams traveled to Seymour High School to compete in the first full tournament of the year. While it was not a stellar day for debate teams, it was an outstanding day for individual debaters. In the NOVICE DIVISION, five TEMS students placed in the Top 10 including:

  10th Place - Mysha Husain
9th Place - Nashwa Changampally Kizhakkumpattu
7th Place - Avyan Rekapalli
6th Place - Sai Aadithya Karthik 
And in 5th Place Karthik Jayakanth

 Kudos to those five students and their amazing performances. In the OPEN Division, Ananya Save displayed superior debate skills finishing in 9th place. But the day belonged to Simone Kaur who bested the other 110 OPEN Debaters and was named MOST OUTSTANDING DEBATER finishing in 1st Place!! Congratulations Simone!!

  • Due to the snowy conditions, robotics has been cancelled for this afternoon.

  • Attention Mathletes: Registration is now open for the AMC-8 Test. This incredibly challenging timed test is open to all interested TEMS students.  Use Classroom Code: zrgtcrf to get additional details. The AMC-8 test will be administered on Friday January 24, 2025 during school in the TEMS Cafeteria. Sign up today!!
  • Attention All TEMS students: The TEMS Yearbook Staff has created a quick survey to gather information about students in all 3 grades. Your participation is anonymous, but your answers MATTER! You each represent your grade, so please check out the TEMS Yearbook 2025 Student Survey on the TEMS website, and submit your answers this week, before we all go on break!
  • Attention all 7th graders! Get ready to dance the night away in a white-out Winter Wonderland dance on January 10th! There will be great music, a selfie booth and winter-themed face painting. Tickets cost $10 and will be on sale after winter break from your homeroom teacher.

  • Hey hey, hey, Entertainers! The list for cast members requested to come to call back auditions has been posted! Please check to see if you are needed for an audition on Monday after school. If so, prepare the required song and scene excerpts posted in Google Classroom and report to ALT 6 right after school on Monday. Final cast AND crew lists will be posted on Tuesday 12/17.

  • The results for the final round of Animal Lovers are in. We’d like to thank all the students who voted and all the teachers who shared these forms in Homeroom and Team Google Classroom! It’s because of you that we could make this happen! Also, please note that the Naomi Chung Animal Lovers Drive is open till the start of winter break, so give any donations to Ms. Bynoe or Mrs. Rich.   • Hey, Entertainers cast: Check Google Classroom by Sunday to make sure you are in an audition group on your grade's audition day: Monday for 6th grade, Wednesday for 7th grade, and Thursday for 8th grade.   • Welcome back to another edition of TETV Morning News. Today is Tuesday, December 3.
  • Let’s get festive! TEMS is starting a Winter Themed Door Decorating Contest beginning December 2nd.  Door decorations should reflect student collaboration, be winter themed, and aim to celebrate our incredible community. Important notes: Door decorating may begin on December 2nd. Door decorating will be judged on Wednesday, December 18th. Awards will be announced on Thursday, December 19th. All decorations must be removed before we leave for break. One homeroom from each grade and one encore class will be selected to win. Homeroom winners will win a movie with popcorn scheduled in January. Doors will be judged with a score of 1-5 on the following criteria: Creativity, Relevance to Theme, Effort and Teamwork and Completion of Display.

  • The Animal Lovers has Round 3 Results for everyone! Be sure to vote as this is the finale! Link to Vote. Animal Lovers and the Ruby Team needs your help to get donations for the Protector of Animals Shelter! Anything you have for a dog or cat is fine! If you have a spare toy, perfect! Even a tennis ball or food will work! All we need is your help, so please, please, please, help us out and make any sort of donation. We want to honor Naomi's memory in the best way possible! The drive ends right before Christmas Break. You can drop off any donations to Ms. Bynoe in Room 235 or Mrs. Rich on the Ruby Team. Any questions? Email [email protected]!   • On behalf of the CougarTHON Club, we are thrilled to announce the winners of this year's Penny Wars contest! After a week of spirited competition and enthusiastic fundraising efforts, the results are in:
    • 3rd Place: Scarlet Team with $150.91
    • 2nd Place: Ruby Team with $193.89
    • 1st Place: Emerald Team with  an impressive total of $360.89!

    The Emerald Team will enjoy a special reward of a movie in the auditorium as their prize! Overall, our school raised a fantastic $1,363.07 to help the children at Connecticut Children's Hospital. A huge thank you to all the participants for their generosity. Your contributions will make a significant difference in the lives of children. Our next fundraiser begins next week, where we will be collecting for a school-wide PJ Day! Stay tuned for more details at the end of the week! Congratulations to our top teams and everyone who participated!

  • Welcome back to another edition of TETV Morning News. Today is Monday, December 2.
  • Let’s get festive! TEMS is starting a Winter Themed Door Decorating Contest beginning December 2nd.  Door decorations should reflect student collaboration, be winter themed, and aim to celebrate our incredible community. Important notes: Door decorating may begin on December 2nd. Door decorating will be judged on Wednesday, December 18th. Awards will be announced on Thursday, December 19th. All decorations must be removed before we leave for break. One homeroom from each grade and one encore class will be selected to win. Homeroom winners will win a movie with popcorn scheduled in January. Doors will be judged with a score of 1-5 on the following criteria: Creativity, Relevance to Theme, Effort and Teamwork and Completion of Display.
  • Attention anyone trying out for cheerleading: Tryout dates and times have changed.  Tryouts will now be the following: Monday, December 2nd: 2:45-4:00, Wednesday, December 4th: 2:45-4:00, and Monday, December 9th: 2:45-4:00. Please see Mrs. Edwards in room 302 if you have any questions.

  • We LOVE having TEMS students at the Teen Center, however there are only 19 seats on the bus to bring students over to the Teen Center. Starting 11/26, if you are NOT registered and there are not enough seats you will have to stay at TEMS until a ride can pick you up. Students can always be dropped off starting at 3pm. Please register via the link on the Teen Center and TEMS webpage.
  • New Chromebook Help Desk Hours starting today.  The new hours are Monday-Friday from 7:45am-12:00pm. If you borrowed a Chromebook, please continue to return the device to the Help Desk at the end of the day.
