- The Lady Cougars roared into the semi-finals yesterday afternoon, facing off against Suffield Middle School. The first half was a whirlwind of action, with the ball zipping across the field. Both teams had their moments, but the score remained locked at 0-0.Then, in the opening minutes of the second half, 8th grader Aleksa Zajac ignited the team by chanting "GOAL in first five!" And that's exactly what happened. Madison C. unleashed a powerful shot from just outside the 18, sending the ball soaring into the top right corner. The crowd erupted as the Lady Cougars took the lead! Determined to maintain their advantage, the team tightened their defense, stopping Suffield's every attack. But the Lady Cougars weren't done yet. Audrey L. pounced on an opportunity, charging the goalie and slotting the ball into an empty net. The score was 2-0, and the Lady Cougars were on fire! Now, the stage is set for the CRAL finals on Thursday. Will the Lady Cougars continue their winning streak? Stay tuned!
- Last night the TE Boys soccer team laid claim to the CRAL Championship for the second year in a row, beating Suffield 3-1 at Nevers last night. TE newly crowned repeat champions had such a run this year, all their hard work finally paid off in the end. The first half of the game was nip and tuck, back and forth until Dillon Leacu tallied just before the halftime time whistle. Leacu struck the ball low and hard to the right corner of the net, with his left foot, no less, to give the Cougars a 1-0 lead going into half time. In the second frame, TE was still dominant in possession leaving the wildcats chasing the ball all over the pitch. After numerous chances in the first half, Adam Elsendyouney finished one off a skirmish in front of the net. Liam Staroverov hammered one off the crossbar which looked like it was over the goal line but the referee didn't give it. In a matter of seconds Elsendyouney was able to bury it firmly past the Suffield keeper. Elsendyouney would then put the game to bed later in the half with a luscious strike just under the crossbar. TE's back four were solid all game and thwarted the wildcat attack consistently. Suffield pulled one back towards the end of the contest, but the game was in the hands of the Cougars. Congratulations to all the boys, especially the 8th graders, who contributed mightily all season. Next year the boys will be going for a three peat, just like that other team here in the area. If you see a TE player today, wish them a hearty congratulations.
- We are down to the last two days of our annual fundraiser. We need to reach our goal by 11:59 PM on Friday, November 1st . Currently we need $3,000 , with that, we can continue to give back to our students with fun activities, new books and materials, acts of kindness, helping with field trip costs, surprises throughout the year, and so much more! We had such positive feedback from all of you about the Active-Thon, that it was fun and you had a great time and having Kona Ice was a big hit. The PTO sponsors all of that and many more events and activities throughout the year. When we reach our goal we can ALL go outside for a day in the spring for “Team Olympics” and we get to slime Principal Irwin and Associate Principal Clifton. We need help from ALL of our students. Tell your families to help us get to our goal.

- The field hockey team came away with a big 7-0 win against Somers on a beautiful Fall day. TE played a fast tempo pace by everyone on the field. Ella "Bug" Allore, Kiley Duval, Kinley Cincotta, Tori Yelle, Stella Swierbutowicz, Emma Hennessey, and Lily Flynn rounded out the scoring. Joanna Halle, Tori Yelle, Ella Satalino, and Raegan Burnham provided the assists. Allie Scott and Megan Aparo were awarded the shutout. Sarah Bonanno, Vanessa "Pasta" Primavera, Emma Hennessey and Johanna Halle controlled the midfield while Violette DesRocher, Maggie Melia, Kendal Heath, Emma O'Brien, and Kay Milliken controlled the back field. TE's last game is this Wednesday against Suffield Middle School. Hope to see you there!
- The TE Boys Soccer team opened up it's "second season" last night with a 4-2 win over Sage Park of Windsor. The semi-final of the CRAL playoffs was held at Nevers as TE continued it's unbeaten run. Dillon Leacu opened the scoring with a penalty early in the contest, then he provided the assist off a long throw-in into the Sage Park goal box. It was a quick throw and caught the Chargers off guard as Adam Elsendyouney headed in the bouncing ball to make it 2-0. Sage Park didn't back down, however, scoring the next two goals, one on either side of half time. With the score now 2-2, TE put the pedal to the metal and consistently pushed forward to get the game winner. And what a game winner it was. Elsendyouney beat his man down the touchline and crossed a beauty into the box where team captain, Haris Zhinopotoku blasted his header into the back of the net. The goal lifted TE's spirits as they continued to push for more. Leacu put the game to bed with his second of the game late in the second half. "Sage Park put a scare into us today," Coach Chandler said. "The boys didn't hang their heads after their second goal and made sure we made it to the final," he added. TE now plays Suffield today after school for the CRAL Championship. Good luck boys!

- The stakes were high, the goal was clear: defend the undefeated season. On Thursday, October 24th, at the CRAL Championship, the TE boys cross country team rose to the occasion. From the start, TE set the tone. Aiden Pilatti made an early statement, locking in a top spot and finishing 4th overall. Hot on his heels was Cayden Poehnert, charging hard to secure 9th place. Evan Taylor and Connor Hall held their ground, crossing the finish line side by side, while Brandon Willcox closed strong, fending off Suffield’s top contenders and sealing the victory for TE. Shaunak Tamhane and Tommy Stewart ran with heart, putting in clutch performances that left no doubt—TE was taking home the title. Congratulations to the 2024 CRAL Champions! Good luck at the State Championship next Saturday. Go Cougars!
- The girl's cross country team was able to clench the win for the CRAL Championship, closing out their season undefeated. Jana Brownbill ran a tough race to win as the overall female. One place behind her was Greta Johnson, who had an amazing finish to her race. Emily B and Lillian Magnoli had breakout races, earning 4th and 6th overall. Charlotte Z, Saanvi N, and Ashlyn all finished within the top 20, each running their best races of the season. The next race for these ladies will be states on 11/2/24.
- Last night the TE Boys Soccer team secure the #1 seed in the CRAL playoffs beating Suffield 3-1 in their last regular season game of the year. TE had numerous chances in the first half, though they were not able to set themselves apart from the Wildcats. The first half ended 0-0 though TE created most of the chances throughout the half. The second half was more of the same, with TE controlling possession similarly to the first half. Their persistence finally paid off as Dylan Leacu played the ball across the face of goal to Liam Staroverov for the cool finish in front of the net. Shortly thereafter, Leacu bullied his way through the defense to make the score 2-0. Suffield got one back off a corner kick that just eluded the TE keeper Will Woods. In the waning stages of the half, Adam Elsendyouney put the game to bed after finishing a cross from Sachin Vemuri. The result means that TE ends the regular season undefeated and will host one of the semi-finals on Monday night at Nevers. Should they win, they will host the final as well. Good luck to all the players as they strive to go champions in back to back seasons. Hopefully you can make it out to the game on Monday. Good luck boys.
- The Lady Cougars had their final regular season game against Suffield yesterday. The girls soccer team battled to a hard-fought 0-0 tie against Suffield Middle School. Aleksa Z. and Sienna D had some amazing shots on net. The MVP has to go to goal keeper Victoria M. we had two amazing saves in the second half. Lani S. and Elise G. played their hearts out, Coach B and Coach Sayed were very impressed. The Lady Cougars are headed to the tournament next week. They will play on Tuesday!

There is still time to reach our goal, slime Principal Irwin and get a fun field day outside in the spring with games and a kickball tournament. Solve this math question: If we need $5,000 to reach our goal and there are 1,200 students at TE, how much money could each student bring in to reach our goal? - The field hockey team lost a close one to Glastonbury by a score of 1-0. Captains Kinley Cincotta, Joanna Halle and Allie Scott each played extremely well with Allie Scott making a diving save to keep TE in the game! Game captain Kendall Heath made numerous tackles in the circle keeping Glastonbury’s attack at bay. Emma Hennessey’s stick work in the midfield was impressive to watch. Tori Yelle had some rocket like passes to forwards Kylie Duval and Ella Satalino but couldn’t get it past the Glastonbury goalie. TE’s next game is home on Monday verse Somers. Hope to see you there!
- Last night the Timothy Edwards boys soccer team traveled to Tolland to take on the Falcons. After a strong showing from Tolland, TE settled into their game. The first half was highly contested and the Cougars tallied just two goals in the opening frame. Dylan Leacu and Liam Staroverov both scored unassisted goals.. In the second half Adam Elsendyouney scored unassisted, as well, early in the half. Then midway through the second half Vadanth Manchala passed one in off a cross from Staroverov that bounced off the keeper. Literally 15 seconds later the ball was stolen in midfield and Elsendyouney dribbled the length of the half then dribbled the keeper for the fifth goal of the game, which was his second. The defense held firm in the second half and the 5-1 result was justified. The first place Cougars play their final home game tonight after school at Never’s against second place Suffield. Come out and cheer on the boys! Today is the last game for the boys and girls soccer teams away to Suffield. Please dismiss all boys and girls soccer players at 2:20 today.

We need to keep pushing right till the end, we can’t give up!!! When we hit our goal, we get to slime Principal Irwin and get a surprise day outside in the spring…Will we achieve our goal? Will Principal Irwin get slimed? Will everyone get a surprise outdoor day in the spring? Will every grade get a cross team lunch and recess? Find out tomorrow morning…..Get those donations in, every donation big or small helps us achieve our goal and helps all students have the best year yet!!
- The TE Boys Soccer team took on Windsor Locks last night securing a 6-0 win and remaining in the top spot of the CRAL league standings. Liam Staroverov opened the scoring off a long throw in from Dylan Leacu. Adam Elsendyouney tapped in a pass from Nishil Gangarapu and then Staroverov rounded out the scoring in the first half tucking away a pass from Hussien Taleb. The second half was much of the same as TE kept their foot on the gas. Vadanth Manchala, Leacu and Zach Gilbert all got on the score sheet after the break. Ishaan Ray, Colin LeDoux, Ryan Botticello and Zavier Caouette all had strong performances in the match. This result marks the 8th shutout of the season proving the defense has been strong all season long. Good luck today boys against Tolland.
- We've got some exciting news from the Lady Cougars soccer team. They just wrapped up a big victory against Windsor Locks Middle School. It was a thrilling match from start to finish. Maddie C. got things started with a fantastic goal, assisted by Sienna D. Not long after, Ellie K. found the back of the net with a beautiful shot, thanks to a great pass from Emily W. And Maddie C. wasn't done yet! She scored again, with Sienna D. providing the assist once more. The Lady Cougars played their hearts out hoping to make it to the tournament. Their hard work and teamwork paid off, and they're celebrating a well-deserved win 3-2! Congratulations, Lady Cougars! The girls play their last regular season game against Suffield on Thursday.
