- Welcome back to another edition of TETV Morning News. Today is Monday, September 30.
- The girls soccer team faced Tolland Middle School again on Friday afternoon. Tolland is a very strong team and put pressure on the Lady Cougars from the start. Early in the first half Tolland scored a goal right outside of the 18, but didn't stop the Cougars. The Cougars came back with two goals scored by Sienna Disalvatore and Emily Ward ending the half 2-1. The half time pep talk from Coach B and Coach Sayed fired up the team as they headed into the second half. Sienna Disalvatore sprinted down the field beating two defenders and scored her second goal of the game. The score was 3-2 with two minutes left in the game. Unfortunately, for the Cougars that did not stop Tolland. With less than 5 seconds to go in the game Tolland scored from half field. The game ended in 3-3 tie. The Lady Cougars play away on Monday against Illing Middle School.
- We are proud of all of the staff and students who participated in the Pinwheels for Peace initiative at TEMS! Thanks also to members of the Field Hockey team for creating a welcoming chalk walk. We hope that you all share peace and kindness with the world each and every day!

- Welcome back to another edition of TETV Morning News. Today is Thursday, September 26.
- Yesterday the TEMS boys cross country team took a win against Illing and Vernon as they crushed the rocky rough terrain at Vernon Center Middle School. Conquering the hilly course to take spots three through nine were: Cayden Poehnert, Tommy Stewart, Aiden Pilatti, Connor Hall, Brandon Willcox, Evan Taylor and Ethan Tozier. Shaunak Tamhane was right behind to nab the eleventh spot and Peyton Goudreault tore into the finish to edge out a VCMS runner. Peyton Soran improved his time by over a minute! Congratulations to the team and good luck in your meet on Monday.
- The girls Cross Country team was victorious in their meet against Illing MS and Vernon Middle School. Top runners included Jana Brownbill, Greta Johnson, Charlotte Zhang, Saanvi Nigam, Lillian Magnoli, and Emily Bryan.
- The field hockey team played a well fought game but came away with a 4-1 loss to a very talented club team from Glastonbury. Glastonbury dominated the first half, but Joanna Halle, Tori Yelle, Sarah Bonanno, and Reagan Burnham put the pressure on Glastonbury's defense resulting in a goal by Mackenzie Mason. Maggie Melia was stellar on defense along with Ari Coco, Evie Beaulieu, and Natalie Goodrich. TE's next game is away vs Suffield middle school. Thanks for all who came out to support the team.
- Last night, the Timothy Edwards boys soccer team traveled to Suffield Middle School to take on the Wildcats. TE played like they were shot out of a canon going up 2-0 in less than six minutes. Liam Staroverov scored unassisted while Dylan Leacu smashed home a pass from Haris Zhinipotoku. Leacu then scored another, with a pure header past the keeper’s feet, once again assisted by Haris. Suffield got one back after a misplaced pass to the keeper. Haris struck again for the Cougars to make it 4-1. Adam Elsendyouney streaked onto a driven ball from Hussein Taleb to make it 5-1. Suffield scored two more goals in the half by simply playing the ball over the top and their speedster of a forward got on the end of them. In the second half, Leacu bullied his way through defenders to score his third of the game. Suffield tallied late and made it 6-4, which was the final score. The Cougars next play at Tolland on Friday. Good job boys!

- Welcome back to another edition of TETV Morning News. Today is Wednesday, September 25.
- The girls soccer team faced Suffield Middle School yesterday at home. Both teams came out strong as soon as the ref blew the whistle. Early in the first half Suffield scored the first goal, but that did not stop the Lady Cougars from coming back strong. Thanks to Emily Ward the Cougars ended the half 2-1 with Ward scoring two break away goals. As the second half began Suffield Middle did not stop as they put up multiple shots on our goal. That did not stop Sienna Disalvatore from scoring a beautiful goal outside of the 18. Goal keepers Victoria M. and Maddy M. kept the Lady Cougars in the game. The girls team has another home game this Friday. Come out and support!
- The TE Field hockey team had their season opening game yesterday against their rival Granby and came away with a 1-0 win. The game was hard fought with back to back drives. Playing well for the Cougars was Lilah Boldic, Joanna Halle and Tori Yelle in the midfield. Kinley Cincotta, Ella Satalino and Ella Allore had a couple great shots on goal but it was Stella Swierbutowicz coming through for the Cougars scoring the only goal of the game. Raegan Burnham saved the day with a brilliant "goal line save?" to keep the score tied until Stella locked in the win. Allie Scott and Megan Aparo played great in goal and are credited with the shut out. TE's next game is today at home against Glastonbury. Come on out to support the team!

- The Timothy Edwards girls soccer team tied Tolland Middle School yesterday 1-1 with a great goal by Aleksa Zajac assisted by Emily Ward. Goalkeeper, Victoria Macchi, kept the Cougars in the game with three amazing saves. Aleksa Zajac earns MVP for her hard work and leadership on the field. Coach B and Coach Sayed would like to give a special shout out to sixth graders Mia LeRoy, Eliana Beakal, and Gianna Ayala for their strong defense and team work. The girls team plays again today at home at 3:45, come out and support!
- The TE Boys Soccer team was in action last night as they hosted Tolland Middle School in a CRAL contest. The pitch was rough and the dirt was flying as the ball was played back and forth between the two teams. TE had countless chances in the first 10 minutes then they finally broke through with a goal from Liam Staroverov. It was unassisted as he put in his own rebound off the keeper. Not much else happened until Adam Elsendyouney pounced on a ball played over the top from Roby Sayavong. The keeper came out but Adam was just about quick enough to nip in front of him and score the goal. In the second half, Sayavong struck on top bins over the keeper to make it 3-0. Liam S. would score his second of the game after Dillon Leacu's cross/shot was parried away by the keeper into Liam's feet. All in all the Cougars were better on the day and the final score of 4-0 was justified. Congrats to Will Woods and the defense for keeping a clean sheet. Next game is Wednesday away in Suffield. Congrats boys.

- The Timothy Edwards boys soccer team opened up their CRAL season last night taking on the Ellington Wildcats yesterday after school. The first half was played in the Wildcats end of the field, though TE could not score, thus resulting in a 0–0 halftime score. The second half was played in between the two goal boxes as neither team really challenged the others goal. However, late in the second half, Ellington was awarded a penalty for a challenge in the box. Leave it to 6th grader Will Woods to step up to the challenge, as he made a great save on the penalty. Not only did he save this penalty, but he saved one in the first half as well to keep TE from conceding. The Cougars next play at home is on Thursday after school. Come out and cheer on the boys!

- Yesterday the TE Boys Cross Country Team competed in their first race of the season against East Hartford at Nevers Park. East Hartford brought a small but mighty team and took first place, but TE filled in the next 8 spots led by Aiden Pilatti with Evan Taylor hot on his heels. Sixth grader, Cayden Poehnert, took fourth place in a near photo finish with Connor Hall. Brandon Willcox, Shaunak Tamhane and Thomas Stewart rounded out the top ten TE finishers on the new course. Shane Bergeron showed competitive spirit as he pushed hard to complete the race despite not feeling one hundred percent. Congratulations to the team on their first win of the season!
- The TE Cross Country girls team opened up their season with a home meet against East Hartford. The girls swept the top 5 spots to take the win. Our leaders were Jana Brownbill in 1st (14:15), Greta Johnson 2nd (14:17), Ashlyn 3rd (14:39), Saanvi Nigam 4th (15:00) and Lillian Magnoli 5th (15:15). Congratulations on season opening win!
