  • This week is a Purple week. It is a Day 1 for Grade 6 and a Day 4 for Grades 7 & 8.
  • Good Morning TE students and Staff Members, all library books need to be returned by or before Friday, June 4th. If your book is lost or damaged, please come speak to Mrs. Longo in the library media center. In-person 6th and 7th graders have the option of checking out library books over the summer from Wednesday, 6/9 through Friday, 6/11. Please see the main LMC page for more information and for the parent/guardian permission slip needed to check these books out over the summer.

  • The TE baseball team played in the League Championship game on Thursday afternoon at Rotary Field, but unfortunately fell short and lost to Illing by a score of 5 to 3.  It was one of those games where the losing team outplayed the winning team, but the score did not show it.  Robbie Wunsch started the game on the mound for the Cougars and his valiant effort kept TE in the game as he struck out 6 and gave up only 2 hits in 4 innings of work.  All in all, the pitching combination of Wunsch, Brayden Edwards, and Sam Balducci struck out 11 Rams and only allowed 4 hits in the game. Offensively, TE was led by Drew Dargati.  Down 2 to nothing to start the bottom of the third, Dargati stepped to the plate with the bases loaded.  His laser down the right field line was good enough for a bases clearing double and a 3 to 2 Cougar lead.  TE threatened in each inning thereafter, but could not get anymore runs across.  Dargati finished with 2 hits as did Ethan Burke and Chris Strout. In the post game press conference, Coach S. stated how proud he was of the team's success, their strong work ethic and commitment to the game, and their positive attitude!!!  TE finishes the season with 7 wins and 2 losses.

  • This week is a Purple week. It is a Day 3 for Grade 6 and a Day 2 for Grades 7 & 8.
  • On Tuesday afternoon the TE baseball team played Ellington at Duprey Field in front of a capacity crowd.  The bats came alive as the Cougars pounded out 16 hits en route to a 14 to 4 victory.  Leading the offensive barrage was Jake Palombizio with 3 hits and 5 RBI and Ethan Burke with 3 singles and 1 RBI.  Sam Balducci had 2 singles, Robbie Wunsch had a single and triple and Jacob Gombotz added a single and double.  Chris Strout, Drew Dargati and Justin Grilli chipped in with a double each.  On the mound, Balducci had a quality start and earned his second victory for the Cougars.  He did not allow a hit or run in his 3 innings of work. TE's season is not over yet.  The Cougars finished the regular season with 7 wins and 1 loss...good enough for first place in the league.  TE has finished in first place 4 out of the past 6 years.   The Championship Game is set...TE will face archrival Illing on Thursday afternoon in a battle between the top two teams in the league.  The game's start time is 3:45pm at Rotary Field.  Good luck boys!!!

  • The girls' softball team traveled to Ellington Middle School for their final game of the season. In the first inning, TE went right to work scoring three runs, but Ellington answered back with three runs of their own. In the second inning, TE really opened it up loading the bases for Meghan Doherty who crushed the ball with a bases-clearing triple. Brianna LeGare, Emily Attenello, and Meghan Doherty all scored three times during the game; and in her final game at TE, Angelina Mundo scored four times. In the final inning, Mundo made an excellent play at shortstop, Taylor Kehoe tagged out a runner at third, and Doherty delivered the final strikeout of the season. The final score was TE 16 - Ellington 6.  The Cougars end their season with an overall record of 5 - 3. A special thanks to the eighth graders: Christianna Macchi, Siena Hart, Taylor Kehoe, and Angie Mundo.  Your leadership was an essential part of the team's success.  To all the Cougars, congrats on a great season.

  • The TE softball team hosted Illing Middle School on Monday. In the first inning, Meghan Doherty controlled the mound and kept Illing scoreless with help from the infield.  And in the bottom of the first, the Cougars went right to work scoring six runs from their offensive power and heads-up base running. Brianna LeGare, Meghan Doherty, and Cassidy Cole all scored two runs each in the game; while, the birthday girl, Olivia Doran, added three runs of her own. In the fifth inning, Illing tried to start a rally; but, LeGare gunned down a baserunner to Taylor Kehoe at third base, which gave TE the final out of the game and the win. The final score was TE 11 - Illing 5. The Cougars are 4 -3 on the season and play their final game at Ellington Middle School today. And a special thank you to our fill-in first base coach, Mr. Clifton!

  • Monday was the FINAL regular season track meet for the Boys Track Team and they faced some of their toughest competition in Ellington.  Much of the meet was a battle, with TE coming out on top in most of the events thanks to their hard work all season.  The boys defeated Ellington 69-36.  And what a way to finish the regular season.  Kyden Merlin broke into the TE Top Ten in ALL 4 of his events.  He ran an astounding 11.51 in the 100 meter sprint.  He also joined the 4x100 team of Sonit Shah, Holden Crane, and Trestan Calloway, running a scorching 51.48 seconds to win the race. Trestan Calloway also set a personal record of 9.36 seconds in the hurdles.  Shawn Baidoo and Naol Tirfessa helped sweep the hurdles, both running under 11 seconds.  Will Campbell, Ethan Hunt, Jacob Pflederer and Holden Crane continued their strong throwing by sweeping the shot put and discus events. The 4x800 team of Blake Wool, Colton Flaherty, Stewart Christophel, and Nivaen Giritharan had their best race of the season, easily winning over Ellington's squad.  Again, many of the boys stepped up to finish the season with some of their strongest efforts, setting personal records throughout the meet. Thank you to the boys for an amazing first season back after the pandemic!  Now the boys who qualified will train for States on Saturday.  Good luck to all the athletes!  Go Cougars!

  • The TE baseball team travelled to Manchester and faced off against unbeaten and 1st place Illing on Monday afternoon.  Once again, TE pitchers were dominant as they defeated the Rams by a score of 5 to 1.  Brayden Edwards picked up the win and is 4 and 0 on the season.  In 13 innings pitched this year he has given up only 3 hits and one earned run while striking out 27.  Robbie Wunsch came in and closed the door on any thoughts about an Illing rally.  Edwards and Wunsch combined to strike out 14 while only giving up 2 hits.  In their 7 games so far, the Cougars pitching staff has an astounding team ERA of 1.40.  Offensively, the balanced hitting attack was led by Jacob Gombotz who had 3 singles and 2 RBI.  Ethan Burke added 2 singles and an RBI while Jake Polombizio added a single and RBI in the victory.   Ben Albert, Wunsch, Drew Dargati and Sammy Balducci continued to stay hot at the plate.  The Cougars have 6 wins and one loss on the season.  They finish out the regular season at home today vs. Ellington at Duprey Field.

  • Congrats to the Lady Cougars on their win against Ellington yesterday!  The girls defeated Ellington Middle School 92-18!  Although Ellington had a few standouts, TE denominated most events.  In the 100 and 200 meter runs, Susan Otaluka, Natalie Czop, and Mia Ruiz took the top three places, and Susan Otaluka now holds the 1st place spot as the TE All Time Record holder for her 100-meter time!   Mia Ruiz and Izzy Carpenter took 1st and 2nd place in the 400-meter run, while Sam Roux and Racher Turer earned 2nd and 3rd place in the 800-meter run.  Isabella Carpenter ran a season-best 1600 meter run and now holds 8th place in our TE record book running a 5:52 mile!  In the hurdles, Kashish Kodnaney, Sadhana Ganesan, and Peyton Bennett took 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places.  In the Long Jump, Kyra Soucy took first place jumping 13'6.5", while Avery Brochu took 2nd place with her first time in the event ever!  The TE girls swept the high jump.  Caroline Cavanaugh, and Makayla McGrath, jumped 4'4" and Susan Otaluka jumped 4'6"!   In the throwing events, Rachel Turer, Ioana Langpraseuth, and Julia Jaworski took 1st-3rd places in the discus and Rachel Turer and Ioana Langpraseuth took 1st and 3rd place in the shot put.   Congrats girls accomplishing an undefeated season!

  • Congratulations to the girl's track team on their third victory of the year!  The team's hard work and determination helped them defeat Tolland with an 80 to 16 win!  The first event of the meet started off strong, with Kashish Kodnaney, Peyton Bennett, and Sadhana Ganesan taking 1st, 2nd, & 3rd places in the hurdles.  Izzy Carpenter took first place in the 1600 meter run with a time of 5:56, just missing TE's Top 10 by 3 seconds.  The 6th-grade powerhouse of Emery Forko and Natalie Czop brought in 1st and 2nd place wins in both the 100 and 200-meter run.  High jumpers, Makayla McGrath and Caroline Cavanaugh took first and second place jumping 4'4".  8th grader, Rachel Turer, dominated her throwing events.  She took first place in both the shot put and the discus.  Not only that, but Rachel now holds the TEMS 7th All-Time Throwing Distance for both events.  Rachel threw 75'8" in the discus and 30'9" in the shot put.  Sam Roux, Rachel Turer, and Avery Brochu took 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in the 800 meters run and are in the TE Top 10 for their times!  Overall, an amazing day.  They have one last regular season meet today at SWHS against Ellington.  Good luck ladies!!!

  • The TEMS softball team hosted Sage Park on Thursday. Meg Doherty took to the mound and battled through the first inning.  She fought each batter, pitch after pitch, but Sage Park was able to open up a big lead. In the 3rd, Hailey Olints was able to get on base and score off Doherty's double, which was the first run of the game for TE. Olivia Doran was also able to get on base in each of her at-bats. Unfortunately, TE was unable to bring her home. In the end, Sage Park took the win.  TE's overall record goes to 3 -3 on the season. They are home next Monday against Illing Middle School.

  • The TE softball team traveled to East Hartford on Tuesday. Meghan Doherty took the mound for TE, which was a pitching duel with East Hartford; until the 3rd inning, when Olivia Doran and Brianna LeGare started to put the bat on the ball for TE. And with their excellent base running abilities, they were also able to score the first two runs of the game in the 3rd. Doherty would continue to quiet the bats of East Hartford. And TE began to tip the scales in the favor by being extremely patient at the plate; their patience loaded the bases several times in the fifth.  Oliva Doran would have the biggest hit of the game driving in two runs off a double and sealing the win for TE. The final score was TE 14 - East Hartford 3.  Doherty is 3 and 0 on the season and the softball team's record is 3 - 2. Congrats on a great win!  All the Cougars played extremely well. Go Cougars!
