  • The boys track team sent a select group of athletes to compete at the 14th Annual State Track and Field Championship on Saturday.  The rain held off long enough for all the boys to compete in their events, and they did not disappoint.  Beckham Mills performed well under pressure, earning 3rd place in the discus, just before running the 400 and placing 2nd in the state.  He set a personal record in both.  The distance runners of Stewart Christophel, Jeff Zeng, and Colton Flaherty set PRs in the 1600.  Holden Crane made it to the finals of Shot Put where he finished 8th.  Trestan Calloway walked away with two medals of his own, placing 7th in the 100 and 3rd in the 200.  Matt Habeeb and Jerry Zhu ran their best hurdle races of the year and nearly made the finals.  Andrew Glatt and Avaneesh Savkar had strong showings for TE on the day.  Ultimately, the TE boys finished the day with an astonishing 3rd place overall team score out of 27 schools in the state.  It was a very impressive day for the boys who saved some of their best performances for last. The coaches would like to thank all the athletes for a tremendous season and wish good luck to all the 8th graders as they begin the next chapter of their track and field careers.
  • Congrats to all the girl track athletes that competed at the 14th Annual State Track Championship Meet on Saturday.  The girls had strong performances the entire day.  Sadhana Ganesan and Peyton Bennett started the day for the Lady Cougars placing 1st and 2nd in the hurdle prelims with Bennett taking fourth place overall in the hurdle finals.  Morgan Bridgeforth took 9th place out of 62 athletes in the 100-meter run.  Keeley Scott, Morgan Bridgeforth, and Natalie Czop were in the top 1/3rd of the athletes out of the 70 other girls that ran the 200.  Mia Ruiz took 3rd place in the 400, with Izzy Carpenter and Annabel Ambooken not far behind- each setting personal records for the day.  Izzy Carpenter was 11th in the state in the 800-meter run, along with Abigail Ambooken in the top half of athletes.  Olivia Stoner and Meghan Foster set personal records in the 1600-meter run.  Zoe Bailey took 23rd overall, but 1st for her grade in the shot put, while Ioana Luangpraseuth took 5th for the discus, with Abby Stricker and Audrey Zhang close behind. Ella Daniele and Maddie Osorio took 3rd and 5th for their grade level in the long jump.  The day ended with Mallory Mead and Caroline Cavanaugh at the high jump.  Mallory jumped an impressive 4'2" and Caroline won 1st place in the state with a jump of 4'6"  Overall an impressive day with many personal records in throwing, jumping, and running events.  The coaches are beyond proud.  Great job ladies.

  • The softball team suffered their first loss of the season yesterday against JFK middle school. TE was holding a solid 8-3 lead for a few innings until the bottom of the fourth. JFK ended up scoring 9 runs to bring the score to 12 to 8 going into the top of the 5th inning. TE answered back with 2 runs but it wasn’t enough. JFK defeated TE 12 to 10. Offensive standouts were Alexis Nisyrios, Meghan Doherty, Cassidy Cole, Olivia Doran, and Brianna LeGare. TE travels back to JFK to play them in the final championship game on Wednesday June 1st. Good luck!
  • Solid pitching, timely hitting and spectacular defense wins baseball games.  The TE baseball team did all that and more on Thursday afternoon in the final regular season game of the year...final score TE 7 -  JFK 1.  Lucas Carlson was given the baseball and he did not disappoint.  He pitched a complete, 7 inning game for the Cougars.  He struck out 5 and only allowed 4 Patriot baserunners in the game.  He was assisted by great defensive plays, including a diving catch in left field by Daltin Harrison.  Carlson's performance continued the trend of TE dominance on the mound.  In the last 4 games, the Cougar pitching staff has only allowed 4 total runs while giving up 5 hits. On offense in those 4 games, the Cougars have scored an incredible 56 runs on 49 hits. Leading the offense against JFK was Brayden Edwards and Brandon Gudouskas...each with a single and 2 RBI while  Ryan Hubbard and Aiden Jackson had a single and one RBI.   TE's record is 10 wins and 2 losses.  They now await a date and time for the CRAL Championship game.

  • The TE baseball team traveled to Tolland on Tuesday and continued the trend of solid pitching, spectacular defense and clutch hitting.  The final score was TE 14 and Tolland 3.  Aiden Jackson pitched a complete game for the Cougars...striking out 6 while allowing only 3 hits.  Leading the way on offense was Elias Jacobs with 2 singles, a double and 2 RBI.  Brayden Edwards added 2 singles and 4 RBI and Jackson helped his own cause on the mound with 2 singles and 3 RBI.  Ryan Hubbard continued to be an on base machine...he walked, was hit by a pitch and had a single. In the 5 game winning streak, the Cougars have scored 66 runs compared to only 7 that they have given up and they have belted out 63 hits while surrendering only 13.  TE improves it's record to 9 wins and 2 losses on the season.  Great job TE!!!  The final regular season game is Thursday at home vs. JFK.

  • Welcome back to another edition of TETV News. Today is Tuesday, May 24th. Tomorrow our spirit day theme is Patriotic day in honor of the upcoming Memorial Day so don't forget your Red White and Blue and let's honor the holiday together.
  • The Timothy Edwards Jazz Ensemble and Jazz Combo both competed in the National Jazz Festival this past weekend.  Band's from all over the country and Canada participated in this Nationwide celebration of jazz!  The Timothy Edwards Jazz Combo took home First Place in the Middle School Small Ensemble Category (20:48), the Timothy Edwards Jazz Ensemble took honorable mention in the Large Ensemble Category (21:49) and guitar soloist Alyssa Nguyen was awarded "Outstanding Middle School Soloist" at the festival. (9:58)  All students worked extremely hard and did a fantastic job!
  • The softball team cruised right on by Sage Park Middle School beating them 21 to 1 in 4 innings.  Offensively, TE had quite the game.  Left fielder Amanda Donovan had 3 hits, pitcher Meghan Doherty had 2 doubles, Reese Pellerin and Lilly Morse had 2 hits, catcher, Brianna LeGare batted 3 for 4, and shortstop Olivia Doran batted 3 for 3 which included a single, triple and a homerun.  Great job ladies!  TE plays Tolland middle school today here at TE.  Come out and support!  Good luck!
  • To have a no hitter once in a season is quite a feat, but to do it two games in a row is amazing!  Yesterday afternoon in Windsor, left handed pitcher Brayden Edwards did just that for the Cougars in the 11 to 0 victory.  On Friday, Edwards, Kevin Wind and Elias Jacobs combined to get the no hitter, but Monday it was all Edwards.  He faced only 16 batters in the 5 inning game...striking out 11 of them.  Offensively, Edwards, Jacobs and Liam Davis had two hits each with Edwards and Davis producing an RBI.  Evan Westfall doubled and had 2 RBI and Tyler Dill had a single and RBI in the game.  The Cougars won their fourth consecutive game and improve to 8 wins and 2 losses on the season!  They travel to Tolland today.  Good luck Cougars!  .

  • On Thursday, the boys track team traveled to Ellington for the Connecticut River Athletic League Championship meet.  While the overall results didn't fall in the Cougars favor, the boys gave it everything they had to try to repeat as CRAL champions.  Many athletes had outstanding individual performances.  Beckham Mills gutted it out through some soreness and finished 3rd in the Discus and 400 meter sprint.  Trestan Calloway finished 1st in the 200 meter dash and 4th in the 55 meter hurdles.  Jaden Bridgeforth saved his best meet for last, finishing 4th in the 100 meter dash and 3rd in the 200.  Holden Crane gave the Cougars all he had like he has all season, helping the 4x400 team earn 3rd with the help of Matt Habeeb, Brody Jurzcyk, and Blake Wool.  He also finished 4th in the Shot Put.  A lot was asked of Blake Wool and Stewart Christophel on the day and they emptied the tank during the 4x800 relay with Ben Perkins and James Swett, earning 2nd place.  The TE boys had a great season and some of the athletes are now shifting their focus to the State Championship meet on Saturday, May 28th.  Thanks to all the boys for their effort and teamwork this season!
  • Attention all 6th and 7th grade choral students:  Today, you have combined chorus rehearsals. All 6th grade chorus members should report to the auditorium at 11:45am. All 7th grade chorus members should report to the auditorium at 1:13pm.
  • Congratulations to the Girls U14 Bobcats Lacrosse Team on winning the Ken Vilar Southington Jamboree. Hard work and great team play brought them the Championship. Also, big congratulations to tournament MVP Sierra Torres whose clutch saves preserved the championship win over Simsbury.
  • The Timothy Edwards baseball team travelled to Enfield on Friday in a matchup vs. JFK and the Cougars did not disappoint as they notched their third victory in a row.   On the mound, Brayden Edwards, Kevin Wind and Elias Jacobs did something that has happened only one other time in TE baseball history.  All 3 combined to throw a no hitter in the game as their pitches baffled the Patriots lineup all afternoon.  Offensively, TE pounded out 17 hits in the victory.  They were led by Evan Westfall with 2 singles, a double and RBI and Kevin Wind with 3 singles and 3 RBI.  Aiden Jackson had 2 singles and 3 RBI.  Daltin Harrison also chipped in with 2 singles.  The Cougars improve to 7 wins and 2 losses on the season.  They travel to Windsor today to take on Sage Park.  Good luck TE!

Lucas Carlson struck out five and pitched a complete game for the Cougars. In the process, he earned his first victory of the season. On the defensive side, the Cougars had one of the best plays of the season. With one out in the 6th, an East Hartford batter hit a line drive into the gap, but speedy Evan Westfall cut the ball off in right centerfield. He threw to the cutoff man Elias Jacobs who then threw to Aiden Jackson at third for an easy tag on the runner!! Offensively, TE had a balanced hitting attack. Jackson and Brandon Gudouskas led the way with a single and RBI each. TE improves to 6 wins and 2 losses on the season. They have a home game today vs. Sage Park. Good luck Cougars!!
