- Yesterday, in a game that will go down in TEMS history, the Cougars baseball team wrapped up their incredible season in dramatic fashion, clinching the CRAL Championship against the East Hartford Falcons at a packed Rotary Field! The hometown boys certainly didn't disappoint, though it wasn't an easy start. After the top of the first inning, the Cougars found themselves in a 2-0 hole, a rare sight for this dominant squad. But showing true championship grit, they immediately answered back, cutting the Falcons' lead to 2-1 in the bottom of the first. Then came the bottom of the second, and the Cougar bats came alive. Brody Kelly led off with a single, followed by Landon LeRoy’s single. Nidal Elder then stepped up and crushed an RBI double, tying the game! One batter later, Torin Edwards ripped a single to right center to plate Elder, giving the Cougars a 3-2 lead! Starting pitcher Colin LeDoux settled down beautifully after the first, pitching into the fifth inning and surrendering only those two early runs on just two hits. The Cougars then added an insurance run in the fifth, extending their lead to 4-2. And that's all the hard-throwing right-hander Brody Kelly needed! Coming in for LeDoux in the 5th, Kelly was absolutely lights out, retiring eight of the last nine batters he faced. The crowd erupted as Kelly struck out the final hitter of the game, sealing the CRAL Championship for the Cougars! Together, LeDoux and Kelly pitched a combined two-hitter with an impressive ten strikeouts. Offensively, Torin Edwards led the charge with two singles and an RBI, Landon LeRoy contributed with a single and a double, and Nidal Elder chipped in with a double and an RBI. With the victory, the TEMS Cougars baseball team finishes the season with a perfect, undefeated 13-0 record – a first in Cougar baseball history! After the game, Coach S. told the reporters, "I couldn't be prouder of these young men. They faced adversity early, but they did not lose their confidence and mental strength even when things got tough. Their determination and teamwork all season long have been incredible, and this undefeated championship is a testament to all their hard work." A huge thank you to all the dedicated fans who came out to support the team this season. What a historic run!

- Good Morning Cougars! TE Change Leaders is hosting a spectacular Twin Day TOMORROW!!!. Tomorrow, May 23rd, will be the special occasion to match outfits with your best friend, and support the bravery of all the cerebral palsy patients in the world! While participating, you are encouraged to donate anything to support the people who have cerebral palsy, a disorder that affects many people worldwide. We learned a little about it yesterday and how it’s very impactful on the people who have it. Therefore, let’s all contribute and donate to this extremely important cause that also affects others in our community, because we want to change lives one life at a time! After all, we’re the TE Change Leaders!
- Brrr! It was so cold during the softball game against Tolland Middle School, even the softballs might have needed a blanket! TE traveled all the way to Tolland, and after just 4 innings, the scoreboard looked like a rocket—18 to 0! Talk about a chilly blowout! Pitcher Josie Tomkunas was throwing heat and struck out 8 batters like a pro, even though a few sneaky hits got through. The TE batters were on fire—well, as much as you can be when it’s freezing! First baseman Raegan Burnham woke up like she drank a double espresso—she smashed 3 hits: a single, a double, and a home run that probably flew over the frost! Catcher Riley Quigley wasn’t far behind with 2 hits, and Claire Kaminski and Emma Rutkauskas each had 3 hits too. Then Josie, Lila Sheridan, Isis Hollister, Katelyn Bousquet, Meghan Donovan, and Gabbi Nisyrios all chipped in hits like a team of hitting machines! With this win, TE’s record is now 9 wins and just 2 losses. They’re gearing up to take on Sage Park Middle School in the CRAL finals on Thursday, May 29th. Go get ‘em, ladies! Stay warm, swing hard, and maybe bring some hot cocoa!

- Hey, hey, hey Cougars! Twin Day is in 2 days! Even if you forgot to donate this week, you can still donate next week. Anyway, Friday’s twin day was really just to show your support for cerebral palsy. Cerebral palsy is a serious condition where there are many disorders that neurologically affect a person in their movement ability. This limits what they can do in the mobility and physical aspects of their whole life. to spend their time in a wheelchair, not being able to run around or swim, and many more things they can’t do. Most people with cerebral palsy will have it for the rest of their life and will impact them greatly. We hope you will participate and donate on Twin Day, and that you also learned a little bit more about cerebral palsy, our cause.

- Yesterday afternoon the TEMS Cougars baseball team travelled to Windsor Locks with one goal in mind: to secure an undefeated season. From the very first pitch the Cougars meant business. In the top of the first, Torin Edwards singled, Ryan Browning walked, and then the red-hot Will Baron stepped to the plate and ripped a single to score both runners. The game remained tight until the fifth inning when the Cougars unleashed their offensive power. They strung together five hits in a row, including three consecutive doubles by Lucas Paauwe, Baron, and Aiden Silvestro! The rally brought in four runs, and they added three more in the seventh for good measure, ultimately securing an 11-4 victory over the Wildcats. Torin Edwards led the offensive charge with three hits, including a double. Will Baron added a single, a double, and 5 RBI. Lucas Paauwe added a double and two RBI, and Ryan Browning contributed a hit, an RBI, and showed patience at the plate by drawing three walks. On the mound, Brody Kelly was in charge. The hard throwing rightly improved to 6 wins and 0 losses on the season. The starter gave up only two hits and struck out seven. With the win, the TEMS Cougars improve their season record to a perfect 12-0! We spoke with Coach S. after the game and he stated, "I couldn't be more proud of this team. Their hard work, dedication, and commitment to each other has been truly inspiring.” The Cougars will now prepare for the CRAL Championship game against East Hartford. The highly anticipated matchup will take place next Wednesday, May 28th, at 6 PM at Rotary Field. Good Luck Cougars and bring home another banner!

- On Friday afternoon, the TEMS Cougars baseball team overpowered the Windsor Locks Wildcats with a decisive, 14-0 victory. In the bottom of the first inning, the Cougars came out swinging and never looked back, scoring 8 runs in the frame. That was more than enough for Colin LeDoux. The crafty right-hander was simply untouchable on the mound, striking out an impressive 8 Wildcat batters while allowing only a single hit throughout the game. The win improves Ledoux's record to a perfect, 5-0 on the season. While Ledoux held the Wildcats' offense in check, the Cougars' bats were equally potent. Connor Moskites, Ledoux, and Will Baron each tallied two hits. Moskites drove in 3 runs, while Baron contributed one. Dom Caputo, Torin Edwards, and Landon LeRoy each had singles for TE. With the win, the Cougars continue their undefeated streak, improving their season record to an impressive 11-0. The victory solidifies their first-place position in the league standings. TE will face the Wildcats again on Tuesday, this time on the Wildcats' home field. Let's go Cougars!
