  • This week is a Purple week. It is a Day 1 for Grade 6 and a Day 4 for Grades 7 & 8.
  •  Attention all students taking the late bus. If you need a late bus for after school activities or sports please be sure to sign up on the day of the activity.  The sign up is located in your homeroom.
  • The Boys Track Team competed in their first meet in almost 2 years, going up against Illing from Manchester.  The energy, nerves, and excitement were high!   The boys may have lost the meet, 60-44, but there were some strong showings.  Kyden Merlin dominated his events, winning every single one.  He won the 100 and 200 meter dash, and the high jump.  He was also part of the 4x100 team with Mathias Baidoo, Sonit Shah, and Trestan Calloway who won their relay.  Jacob Pflederer won the boys Discus. Matthew Habeeb finished 2nd in high jump.  Trestan Calloway finished 2nd in the 200 meter dash. And Shawn Baidoo finished 2nd in the 55 meter hurdles.  Many other athletes placed in the Top 3, but it wasn't enough to overcome a strong Illing squad.  The boys next meet will be against East Hartford at South Windsor High School on May 10th.  Go Cougars!

  • Tennis Intramural registration is now closed.  Anyone who turns in a permission slip will be added to the wait list and may be added at a later date!  Any questions, please see Mr. Chandler.

  • This week spirit day is Where's Waldo. The iconic, elusive man in the red-and-white striped shirt was first hidden away in 1987 by British illustrator Martin Handford. It takes upwards of eight weeks to draw each puzzle in a Where's Waldo book, which is approximately how long it took me to find him in just one of the pictures.  The character is British in origin and was actually originally called Wally. Some countries keep that version, but there's even more changes in others: in France he's Charlie, in Denmark he's Holger, and in the Czech Republic he's Valik.  This week we ask that everyone do their best to dress as Waldo or where similarly colored clothing to make it a challenge to find the one true Waldo. We look forward to seeing what you come up with...Did you spot him in this picture?

  • Viral Video Challenge Winner is …… Aneesh Roy! Congratulations

  • This week spirit day is Where's Waldo. The iconic, elusive man in the red-and-white striped shirt was first hidden away in 1987 by British illustrator Martin Handford. Handford had been drawing since he was a boy, and was particularly fond of viewing and drawing crowd scenes. He felt crowds contained a certain kind of excitement, and he liked to capture it on paper. His Images always included one hidden man named Waldo. This week we ask that everyone do their best to dress as Waldo or where similarly colored clothing to make it a challenge to find the one true Waldo. We look forward to seeing what you come up with...Did you spot him in this picture?

  • Culture Corner Update - Ramadan, the Islamic holy month began on April 12  and runs until  May 11 this year.   Ramadan is a festive time in Islam, meant for togetherness and community.  The term Ramadan came from the Arabic word ramida which means scorching heat. During Ramadan, Muslims are obliged to fast. Fasting is not only a form of abstaining food and drinks. It also involves refraining from sinful acts like lying, cursing, gossiping, bad intentions, and other similar things. It meant to help Muslims to clear their mind and body. To break the fast, they often eat dates just like what Muhammad did. Ramadan is concluded by Eid ul Fitr or the largest festivity ending Ramadan. Muslims wear their best clothes, give gifts, visit mosques, eat a lot, and spend time with their family during this day. It is considered as a day of gratitude for surpassing the spiritual month.

  • Late breaking spirit winners, on Ruby Team Nev Gravseth-Roman and from Pacific Team Ritheesh Ramakrishnan.
