  •  The softball team faced their first defeat of the season yesterday, falling to Sage Park Middle School with a score of 5 to 2. TE began to rally in the fifth inning, but it was too late to change the outcome. Sage Park scored all their runs in the first inning, while TE managed one run in both the fifth and sixth innings. Despite the loss, the pitcher-catcher duo of Josie Tomkunas and Riley Quigley delivered an impressive defensive performance. Center fielder Isis Hollister made several outstanding catches that prevented runs from scoring, and shortstop Lila Sheridan executed some excellent plays. On the offensive side, Claire Kaminski hit a triple in her first at-bat and followed up with another hit, finishing the game with a 2 for 3 performance. Lila Sheridan also batted 2 for 3, while Gabby Nisyrios and Katelyn Bousquet each contributed a hit. Come out and support the Lady Cougars as they take on Windsor Locks Middle School today at TE, starting at 3:45 PM. Good luck, ladies!
  •  The boys track team hosted their first home meet yesterday at South Windsor High School. Facing tough competitors Illing and Vernon, the boys knew they had to give it their all. Lead by an extremely well round group of 8th graders, the Cougars were able to secure the win: 63-42 over Illing, and 83-23 over Vernon. The field events were once again no problem for the Cougars. Sujay, Dillon L, Sharaj, and Jojo Flor swept in the shot put - totally dominating the competition. Gavin W., Brooklyn K, and Liam S. brought in crucial points in the jumping events. In the track events, it was all about the relays. Illing and Vernon did not stand a chance against the 4x400 and 4x800 relay teams - shout out to Kyle M, Musa R, Justin Jin, Adam E, Connor Hall, Evan Taylor, and Aiden Pilatti. And of course we can't leave out all the fun that came out of the hurdles. 6th grader Caiden Green ran an astonishing time of 8.97 seconds, making him the #5 fastest in all of TE history...in only his second meet EVER! Vedanth M and Logan Jackson also had impressive speed in the event. The Cougars hope to repeat their victory in their next home meet next Monday!
  •  Yesterday, your TEMS Cougars baseball team traveled to Manchester and defeated the Illing Rams, securing an impressive 11-0 shutout victory!  Brody Kelly was a force on the mound, pitching five strong innings, allowing only one hit, and striking out an incredible 10 batters. The Rams simply couldn't touch him!  The Cougars' dominance didn't stop there. Torin Edwards came in to pitch the 6th and struck out the side! Connor Moskites followed suit in the 7th, also striking out all three batters he faced. That's a combined 16 strikeouts out of 21 outs for the Cougars pitching staff!  Aiden Silvestro continued his outstanding work behind the plate, calling a great game. The Cougars' offense was just as impressive. They had a runner in scoring position every single inning, putting constant pressure on the Rams. They jumped out to an early lead in the first and never looked back. Colin LeDoux led the charge with three singles, while Ryan Browning blasted a double and drove in two runs. The Cougars also showed great patience at the plate, drawing twelve walks, four of them by Torin Edwards. Corbyn Falco, Nidal Elder, and Will Baron also contributed with hits. In the post game interview, Coach S. stated, “Our pitching staff was unhittable today and the offense showed discipline at the plate as we earned a great team win on the road."  Now 6-0 on the season, the first place Cougars head to East Hartford on Friday for a showdown against the second-place Falcons.
  •  The girl's track team had an amazing performance yesterday, winning their meet against both Illing and Vernon! They defeated Illing with a score of 68–37 and Vernon 88–17. Way to go, ladies! Here are some highlights from the meet: Harper Kelly took 1st place in the 100-meter dash, beating 26 other athletes! Elise Glunt, Megan Davis, and Arianna Wilson each jumped over 12 feet in the long jump! In shot put, it was a quadruple threat with Emily Keegan, Madison Carpenter, Iulia Luangpraseuth, and Emmi Tushe sweeping the top four spots! Sarah Krivickas, Julia Bryson, and Elise Glunt dominated in the hurdles event! And in the 1600-meter race, Greta Johnson crushed the competition, taking 1st place and finishing 10 seconds ahead of everyone else! Awesome job, ladies! Their next meet is Monday at SWHS — let’s show up and cheer them on to another victory!

  •  The boys track and field team opened their season with a victorious start. The boys travelled to Ellington where they outscored the home team 83-25. The TE boys finished in first place in 10 out of the 13 events held during the meet. On the track, Liam Staroverov, Adam Elsendyouney, and Aiden Pilatti each had first place finishes in their respective races - the 100 meter, 400 meter, and 800 meter. The Cougars dominated in every field event. In the shot put, TE finished in the top two places with Sujay Krishna Kumar finishing in first and Sharaj Singh finishing in second. Both boys were able to break into the TE Top Ten All Time Records for their throws yesterday! Sujay also came in first place in the discus with a huge throw of 90 feet and 2 inches! Gavin Williams swept in the jumping events yesterday - winning both the High Jump and the Long Jump. Brooklyn King, Liam Staroverov, Vedanth Manchala, and Darren Yearwood also helped the TE boys secure their victory with their jumps. The Boys Track Team competes again on Monday at South Windsor High School. Let's go Cougars!
  •  The TE Cougars baseball team continued their dominant start to the season yesterday, clawing their way to a 6-3 victory over the Tolland Falcons. In a stellar outing, Colin LeDoux earned the win by pitching 5 and 2/3 innings, surrendering just two hits and fanning six.  Will Baron then stepped in to shut the door, pitching strong in relief. LeDoux wasn't just getting it done on the bump, he also contributed offensively with a single and double. Torin Edwards also had a productive day offensively, tallying a double, a single, and driving in one run for the Cougars. Ryan Browning chipped in with two singles and an RBI, further fueling the TE attack.  The Cougars showcased their aggressive base running, swiping an impressive seven bases which put constant pressure on the Tolland defense. They also capitalized on a few crucial errors committed by the Falcons, turning those miscues into valuable runs.  With the win, the Cougars remain undefeated at a perfect 5-0 and solidify their first-place standing in the CRAL.  However, they won't have much time to rest on their laurels as they prepare for a highly anticipated matchup against their rival, the Illing Rams, next Monday in Manchester.  Let's go Cougars!

  • All TEMS students! We need YOUR help to raise support for the Cornerstone Foundation, a local homeless shelter and soup kitchen. We are beginning to collect non-perishable food items this week and the week after break. Bring any paper goods (toilet paper, paper towels, etc.), cereal, oatmeal, school snacks, or other non-perishable foods to the lobby during arrivals. Cash donations can be left in the security box at the safety desk. We will also be collecting donations at the movie night on April 23rd. Together as a school we can raise goods and money to help the homeless population of our area!
