  • Starbursts Contest Results Are In! Wow, TEMS—what a sweet turnout! Over 950 entries were submitted, but only a few had the magic number. The exact count of Starbursts in the jar was 627!And the student winners are...
    - 6th Grade: Naman Vyas with 611 (so close, Norman!)
    - 7th Grade: Harshita Prasanna with 623 (just four away—impressive!)
    - 8th Grade: Ishanvi Mohapatra, who nailed it with the perfect guess of 627! Each winner gets a $25 Dairy Queen Gift card—go enjoy those well-earned treats! But wait, there’s more! Our homeroom teacher winners, who get a smaller jar of Starbursts plus a little extra surprise, are:
    - Mr. Stinchon (6th Grade)
    - Mrs. Moore (7th Grade)

  • In honor of opening day of Baseball, Next Thursday, April 3rd will be Opening Day themed lunch in the cafeteria. We encourage you to wear your favorite baseball shirts or jerseys, and come to the cafe ready to enjoy some baseball park inspired lunches.
  • A big thank you to the students and staff who voted in round 4 of the 2025 March Madness Book Brackets! With 286 votes, the winner of the 2025 March Madness Book Bracket is: Uprising by Jennifer A. Nielson.  If you are interested in any of the titles, come to the library to check out the print copy or go to Destiny Discover to check out the eBook or e-audio.  To check out the Padlet on all 16, 2025 March Madness Book Bracket titles, navigate to the Library Media Center’s  Reading Suggestions page.
  • Are you interested in improving your overall fitness and wellness?  If so, you and your friends should sign up for the Spring Fitness Club at TEMS.  Registration is now open on the South Windsor Parks and Rec site.  For more information or for an informational flyer, please see Mr. Chandler in the main gym.  
  • Attention all TEMS students! Do you want to watch a movie with your friends? Do you want to help raise money for charity? Well Hartford bags of Love and the TE Change Leaders Club present a movie night in the TEMS auditorium in benefit of the Cornerstone Foundation, a local homeless shelter and soup kitchen. This is scheduled for April 23rd. Tickets are 5$ and will be available the week before April Vacation before school. Go to the TE homepage to vote on what movie we will be watching! Hope to see you there!
  • Attention all athletes! Track and Field tryouts are just around the corner! Boys and girls tryouts begin next week, starting on Tuesday, April 1st for boys and Wednesday, April 2nd for girls.  Tryouts will be 2 days for both boys and girls.  It is highly recommended that you attend both days of tryouts.  Be sure to check the website for specific details. Tryouts will be held outside, so dress appropriately for the weather and bring a water bottle to stay hydrated. If you have any conflicts, please see a coach as soon as possible. All participants must have a ride home at 4:30 PM on both days. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Edwards or Ms. Hanrath. Get ready to show off your speed, endurance, and determination – we’ll see you at tryouts!
  • SW Youth and Family wants to give YOU, the students, the power to have one of your ideas come to life! Make A Change mini grant applications are now available, but you must apply to April 4th!
  • If you are trying out for the softball team, tryouts are scheduled for April 1st and April 2nd until 4:30.  Please go to the website for more detailed information.

  • Attention all Band Members, all of Mr. Marci’s lessons have been cancelled for today.  Please remain in your regular encore classes.  If you have band class today, please be sure to bring your Chromebook and headphones with you as you will have an assignment that needs to be completed.

  • The team of Emma Hennessey, Emma O'Brien and Emma Lily Flynn opened the History Day Competition season with their First Place GOLD MEDAL WINNING Junior Group Performance at the Torrington Regional Contest on Saturday. This group qualifies for the State Contest in May and will hopefully be joined by many other TEMS students who will be competing at the MANSFIELD REGIONAL CONTEST at UCONN on Saturday March 29th. Congrats to TEAM EMMA and good luck to all TE History Day participants!
  • Saturday was an Incredible day at the National Jazz Festival in Philadelphia, PA.  Timothy Edwards Middle School Jazz students made a clean sweep of the Awards!  The musicians along with their sound crew friends took home: 1st Place Middle School Combo - Timothy Edwards Middle School Jazz Combo. 1st Place Middle School Large Ensemble - Timothy Edwards Middle School Jazz Ensemble. Jazz Combo "Overall Superior Musician" - Aarohan Verma - Vibraphone, Timothy Edwards Middle School. Jazz Large Ensemble "Overall Superior Musician" Lilah Bolduc - Soprano Saxophone/Tenor Saxophone, Timothy Edwards Middle School. National Jazz Festival "LOVE" award - awarded to a student whose passion for jazz helps spread the love to those around them.  -  Aarohan Verma - Timothy Edwards Middle School. Congratulations to everyone who participated!
  • The boys basketball team capped off their season by winning the Elite Middle School State Championship. In a round, robin format, the boys beat Carmen Arace Middle School from Bloomfield, achievement first middle school from Hartford, and Bailey Middle School from West Haven to go undefeated during the round robin part of the tournament. The Cougars played Bailey Middle School for the championship and won the game 45 to 24. The Cougar's pressure defense and fast paced offense, was evident throughout the day and helped Timothy Edwards 4-0 for the day. Brooklyn King won the tournament MVP and the Cougars finished their season 19 and 0.
  • Out of the Blue will meet immediately after school today in room 222.  Please bring your submission.  Ms. Olsen looks forward to seeing you there. 
  • TE Community, Did you know that March is Cerebral palsy awareness month? Join us to help kids in our school and community by wearing green on March 25th Cerebral palsy awareness day, we appreciate any donations on that day. Just come to the front lobby and we will be there! We hope to see the whole school unite in green for cerebral palsy on Tuesday March 25th, thank you.

  • Hello Cougars, it’s the TE Change Leaders! Today, Friday, from 6-8 PM we’re SUPER DUPER EXCITED to host a PJ Dance Party to help cerebral palsy patients! We’ll have face painting, henna, a movie (IF, starring Ryan Reynolds) in the library, and so much more! We're selling general tickets for 10 dollars and VIP tickets for 15 dollars! You can buy it today during your lunch wave or at the door. So put on those pajamas, and get ready for the best pajama party in history!

  • The TEMS Mock Trial teams 'lawyered up' at the West Hartford Regional Rounds of the Connecticut Bar Association's Middle School Mock Trial Competition finishing the night with an overall record of 3-1. Kudos to the TE WHITE team that finished with a perfect TWO and ZERO record, automatically qualifying for the Playoffs on April 4th. Meanwhile, the TE RED team awaits their fate as a ONE and ONE  WILD CARD team, hoping they also receive an invitation to the Playoffs.  Good luck! GREAT WORK preparing for this event and congratulations to all attorneys, witnesses, bailiffs and timekeepers!

  • Hello, Cougars! TE Change Leaders has an update for our Pajama Dance Party on March 21st, which is going to be full of fun and slumber vibes! You can now scan the QR codes on the fliers around the school to reserve your ticket. Tickets will be on sale starting tomorrow, Wednesday, in the lobby every morning. General tickets are 10 dollars, and VIP tickets (with lots of extra rewards) are 15 dollars. So put on those pajamas and purchase those tickets so that we can have the best pajama dance party in history!!!!

  • Hello, Cougars! TE Change Leaders has an update for our Pajama Dance Party on March 21st, which is going to be full of fun and slumber vibes! You can now scan the QR codes on the fliers around the school to reserve your ticket. Tickets will be on sale starting tomorrow, Wednesday, in the lobby every morning. General tickets are 10 dollars, and VIP tickets (with lots of extra rewards) are 15 dollars. So put on those pajamas and purchase those tickets so that we can have the best pajama dance party in history!!!!
  • Attention baseball players…baseball tryouts will begin on March 25th and 26th for 6th and 7th graders and March 27th for 8th graders.  Times are from 2:45 to 4:30. Please complete the baseball questionnaire that was emailed to your school email account.  Check the TE website for more information about what is needed the day of tryouts. 
  • If you are trying out for the softball team, tryouts are scheduled for April 1st and April 2nd until 4:30.  Please go to the website for more detailed information. 
  • A big thank you to the over 300 students and staff who voted in round 2 of 2025 March Madness Book Brackets! Please continue to cast your vote in round 3 by clicking on the March Madness Book Bracket link off of the LMC page and then on the Round 3 voting link.  Voting for round three ends on Thursday, March 20th.You don’t have to have read the books; just vote for the title whose summary sounds the most interesting.  If you are interested in any of the titles, come to the library to check out the print copy or go to Destiny Discover to check out the eBook or e-audio. Don’t get left out on the sidelines; make sure you have your say in this year’s March Madness book winner!
  • Are you interested in showing off your culture to other students? Are you interested in learning about other cultures? Come to International Night on April 10 from 6-8 and enjoy performances, food and crafts from around the world! RSVP with your family on the TEMS website to secure your tickets to this popular event! If your family would like to have a booth to showcase your culture at the event, you can also sign up for that on the RSVP Google Form!

  • Get Ready, Cougars, because TE Change Leaders is hosting an amazing Pajama Dance Party! The dance is on March 21st from 6 to 8PM. There's going to be savory snacks, sweet candy, henna + face painting a movie playing in the library, and spectacular slumber vibes!!!! And guess what.....it gets even better! We are selling VIP tickets again this year! VIPs get an area all to themselves, a goodie bag, and a free snack! General tickets cost 10 dollars, and VIP tickets cost 15 dollars. All proceeds are going to cerebral palsy. So put on those pajamas, 'cause we're looking forward to the best pajama dance party in history!
