  • Good morning everyone. Please stand for the pledge of allegiance: I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands one nation, under God, indivisible with liberty and justice for all. Please be seated.
  • Welcome back to another edition of TETV News. Today is Monday, February 28. Don't forget our winning spirit Wednesdays. This week our spirit day is Dress your Best! We cannot wait to see your fancy outfits on Wednesday.
  • Over the weekend, 8 Timothy Edwards students competed against 29 teams from CT and RI in the Southern New England Science Bowl competition hosted by The University of CT.  The team consisting of Girish Prasad, Younes Merzougui and Spoorthi Bachu made it past the elimination rounds in the morning and placed in the top 16.  The TE team of Aarush Agarwal, Nithish Jayaraj, Vihaan Reddy Vennapureddy, Rishab Premish and Pranav Srijit battled all the way to the final match and finished a very close second to a team from Farmington.  Congratulations to both teams on all of their hard work and for making TE proud!
  • Attention all students, the TEMS Tok challenge is coming back for spring, but this time it is a student competition. Each grade level team and four special teams will compete in four rounds of competition to determine who will be the ultimate TemsTok Champion. If you are interested in participating, speak to your team leader. We will start showing the videos on March 14th, so get together with your teams and lets have an amazing time learning and performing some dances together. Who will be the TEMS Tok Team champion?!?!?!
  • Attention all baseball, softball and track athletes; spring sports registration is now open.  The deadline to register is  Friday, March 18th.  Please go to the "Athletics Registration" page on the TE website for further instructions.  You must complete all 3 parts of the registration process in order to be eligible for tryouts.
  • Have you ever thought about what you want to do after high school? One excellent option to consider is continuing your education and March is College Awareness month here at TE! Starting tomorrow, each day we will highlight a few TE staff members, where they attended college, and some favorite facts about their time in school. During March, we will have a weekly quiz about the TE staff college facts and we will choose one winner for each grade. Quizzes will be posted on the TE homepage, so make sure you listen to the news each day and take the quizzes every Friday. Prizes will be t-shirts from one of four CT colleges and universities: Yale, UCONN, Central, and Quinnipiac. Each winner gets to choose their t-shirt! Be sure to also check out the bulletin board by the cafe that shows where TE staff attended college and feel free to ask any of us questions about our experiences!
  • And now for a Black History Month Spotlight on Rosa Parks.

  • Yesterday afternoon, our TEMS cheer team traveled to Ellington Middle School for the first annual CRAL Cheerleading Showcase.  In the showcase, the girls met up with Illing and Ellington Middle Schools where they started the afternoon by working on cheers, showing off tumbling and jumping skills, and finished with their cheerleading routines. Ava Misiaszek, Aubrey Pugrab, Monet Dufresne, Maddie Osorio, Allie Stengel amazed the crowd with their tumbling skills, while Tiffany Castellon, Vanessa Liegl, Bella Hannan, Allie Stengel, and Kyla Levy impressed all the spectators with their jumps. TE's competition routine left the crowd speechless as they were the last to perform their choreographed routine.  Overall an amazing afternoon, and a wonderful way to end the seasons.  Great job ladies.

  • The Lady Cougars had a little bit of a scare last night playing the Lady Falcons of East Hartford.  Down one point at half time the Lady Cougars 'roared' back to win the game 33-24.  The game was back and forth until midway through the 4th quarter.  TE edged out in front after two clutch free throws and two other buckets from Morgan Bridgeforth.  Fans and players alike were into the game and TE's gymnasium was rockin' throughout the contest. Cooler heads prevailed and TE pulled away in the end.  Avery Brochu led TE with 11 points while Bridgeforth added another 2 to her total for 8 on the night.  Yasmine Abunasra, who recently found her scoring touch chipped in four points as Sam Roux Emery Forko and captain Erin Martin chipped in two points each.  The Lady Cougars now travel to Ellington today after school to battle for the CRAL Championship.  Win or lose today girls, congrats on a great season.
