  • Good morning everyone, please stand for the pledge of allegiance. I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands one nation, under God, indivisible with liberty and justice for all. Please be seated.
  • Welcome back to another edition of TETV Morning News. Today is Monday, February 27.
  • Now here is the TE Leaders with a Kindness Quote of the day. Hello, I am Adam Alami and I am here from TE Leaders to deliver a Kindness quote of the day. Kindness can transform someone's dark moment with a blaze of light. You'll never know how much your caring matters. Make a difference for another today, and let’s  light up one another's world. Now back to the news.
  • Our TE cheer team has had a busy weekend!  On Friday, cheer teams from Vernon, Manchester, and Ellington came to TE for the first annual Regional Showcase.  The TE cheerleaders wowed the crowd with their cheers, jumps, tumbling, and competition routine.  The girls on the team received numerous individual awards and the whole team received the Best Stunt award for their routine and Sharpest Motions for their cheer. Then on Saturday morning, the team traveled to East Haven High School for the New England Cheer Association competition taking  1st place as a middle school in their division.  Way to represent!  Also at the competition, 5 girls from TE, Gianna Santagata, Taylor Johnson, Aubrey Pugrab, Jocelyn Veilleux, and Monet Dufrense, competed in a stunt division taking 1st place again! Great job Cougars!
  • Out of the Blue will meet in Ms. Olsen's room after school today.  Ms. Olsen looks forward to seeing you there!
  • The Kindness Door decorating contest is well underway, and student and teachers should have their designs finished by this Thursday March 2nd. TE Leaders will be judging entries this Friday. Lets all spread some Kindness throughout the school and community.
  • Attention all spring sport athletes...registration for baseball, softball and track and field will open on Monday, February 27th and close on Monday, April 3rd.  You will need to register on the parent portal and turn in an updated physician statement to the main office by the deadline.  The physician statement must be dated after June 1st, 2022.  Tryouts dates and times will be posted by mid March.
  • We are back celebrating Black History Month. Today we recognize the profound impact of Fredrick Douglas. Frederick Douglass changed the lives of many people within the United States as well as Ireland. You cannot talk about abolishing slavery without mentioning Frederick Douglass as he was one of the most well-known abolitionist leaders of his time. Seeing people suffer from poverty in Ireland and slavery in the United States motivated Douglass to fight to abolish slavery and fight for social justice.

  • We are back celebrating Black History Month. Today we recognize the 369th infantry regiment of the New York Army National Guard during World War I better known as the Harlem Hellfighters. The Hellfighters were the most celebrated African-American regiment in World War I and confronted racism even as they trained for war. They helped bring jazz music to France and then battled Germany longer than almost any other American soldiers. Like their predecessors in the Civil War and successors in the wars that followed, these African-American troops fought a war for a country that refused them basic rights. Their bravery stood as a rebuke to racism and a moral claim to first-class citizenship.

  • Welcome back to another edition of TETV Morning News.   Today is Tuesday, February 21.
  • Last Wednesday night, the Lady Cougars traveled to Suffield to play for the CRAL Championship.  The first quarter was one to forget as the Lady Cougars were not able to get into the game and fell behind early.  In the second quarter, TE 'clawed' their way back into the contest and were only down six, as the score was 17-11 at intermission.  Shea Brochu was a girl possessed all night as she and Keira Dietelbaum had the only points for the Lady Cougars in the first half.  After a very long intermission, TE came out firing on all cylinders in the second half.  Kai Grate, Emery Forko, and Brochu stepped it up and cut the lead to 5 going into the fourth quarter.  TE erupted for 16 points in the quarter and ran the clock out as Suffield was trying to foul.  Teagan Purcell contributed a couple significant buckets to keep the Lady Wildcats at bay.  In the end, it was Brochu's dominance on the offensive end and her hypnotic ball handling at the end of the game that secured the victory for the Lady Cougars.  Suffield was forced to foul and the Cougars were able to run out the clock effectively which led to the Lady Cougars taking home the hardware.  As it stands, the TEMS Lady Cougars are crowned the 2022-2023 CRAL Champions with a 37-33 victory.  Congratulations ladies.  Way to go!

  • Welcome back to another edition of TETV Morning News.   Today is Wednesday, February 15.
  • The Lady Cougars hosted the first round of the CRAL playoffs last night taking on the JFK Lady Patriots from Enfield.  The first half was hotly contested though Emery Forko gave the Lady Cougars a very important 3 point lead going into half time.  She beat the buzzer with a 3 of her own sending the crowd into a frenzy.  The halftime score was 21-18.  In the second half, Teagan Purcell, Kai Grate and Shea Brochu lead the charge and extended the lead by four, 29-22, going into the 4th quarter.  The fourth quarter required the Lady Patriots to play man to man and TEMS took advantage with quick ball handing and smart finishes on the fast break.  With 7 different players scoring, the final score was 43-33.  The Lady Cougars will face the winner of the Ellington/Suffield game also being played today.  Good luck ladies.
