  • A huge congratulations to the girls cross country team on their victory against Tolland and St. James last night, completing their season with a perfect 6-0 record.  Tolland, living up to their solid running reputation, was a challenge to defeat with 5 runners in the top ten trailing closely behind TE with a final score of 25-30.  St. James put forth a great effort, but TE dominated with a score of 15-50.  Looking strong for TE was Olivia Doran, who turned on her turbo powers as usual and killed it across the finish taking nearly 2 minutes off her best time.  Frankie Germano also made a remarkable personal record by 2 minutes as she cruised through the finish.  Kaashvi Bagga had her best race of the season running a smart, well-paced race as she worked with a teammate to meet her goal.  Finally, taking an astounding 3 minutes and 24 seconds off her season best time was Jane Carty.  Way to go, Jane!  As a team, the Cougars took over 24 minutes off personal records in one single meet.  Impressive work!  The cross country teams look forward to their league meet Thursday at Charter Oak Park.  Good luck to all runners!
  • The boys cross country team finished off their regular season with a 4 and 2 record after a split of a tri meet on Thursday afternoon.  Stewart Christophel led the Cougars, earning the overall victory, as TE took down St James 25 to 30 but fell to Tolland 31 to 26.  Gavin Lippi, Nevin Joseph and Lucas Beaulieu all ran great races as they each took off over a minute and 20 seconds off their best home course times.  The team is back in action next Thursday when they travel to Manchester for the league championship meet.

  • Welcome back to another edition of TETV News. Today is Thursday October 21st.
  • The lady Cougars kicked off against JFK yesterday evening in a challenging match. The game was box to box in the first half as both sides presented chances on goal. In the second half, the Cougars did a much better job of causing problems with the JFK defense. However, despite all the handwork, the game was decided on a penalty kick in the final 10 minutes of the game giving JFK a 1-0 lead. The Cougars were strong with outstanding performances from the leaders of the team Gabby DiSalvatore, Ari Rosario, Amanda Marques, and Mia Ruiz. Thanks to all the girls for their outstanding work this season. The Lady Cougars end the season with a record of 5-1-3.

  • The field hockey team rebounded from their loss yesterday with a 2-0 win over Somers. Kaliegh Aparo scored TEs first goal off of a pass from Abby Stricker followed by another quick unassisted shot to find the back of the boards from speedy Jelly Yelle. Steady play from Vanessa Liegl on the forward line and Emily Carmen, Ainslee Deptula, Avery Brochu in the Midfield. While  Taylor Zanelli, Prithi Sahaasraprithi, Kendall Woods excelled in the backfield. TE travels to Enfield on Monday.
  • The lady Cougars soccer team kicked off their last home vs. Tolland yesterday evening in a 2-2 draw. Tolland struck first finding the back of the net, but the Cougars were able to tie up score before half, as a brilliant cross from Mia Ruiz found the foot of Maeve Verzella who passed back to Ari Rosario for an easy finish. Throughout the end of the first, Gabby DiSalvatore, Arianna Flores, Evelyn Castro and Jenna Martin were strong in a back denying a handful of chances from Tolland. Outstanding midfield effort was had from Hailey Olints, Amanda Marques, and Teagan Purcell. In the second half, Tolland took the lead again only to be followed up from a brilliant corner kick in the final 2 minutes by Kylah Wood which was poked in over the goalie from Abby Ambooken. All around the team was resilient and dominated the game with their passing and creative runs. Finally, Hannah Kowalichik was strong between the posts tallying 9 saves on the day which was vital for the team in securing the draw. The Cougars face JFK this afternoon in their final game of the season.

  • The lady Cougars matched up against East Hartford on Thursday and took away an 8-0 win. The Cougars were relentless in attack as the team pushed forward to secure an early lead. Goals on the day came from Annabel Ambooken, Gianna DiSalvatore, Mia Ruiz,  Pratheeka Dyava, Abby Ambooken, Kylah Wood, and Maddie Edwards. A lot of firsts on the day as four players were able to tally their first TE goal. Assists were plentiful as Hailey Olints, Maeve Verzella, Lily Jaworski, Mia Ruiz, and Jenna Martin were all able to connect a pass for a goal. The Cougars played smart and we’re able to find space in behind demonstrating composure and patience in the final third. Nice job team!
