- Welcome back to another edition of TETV Morning News. Today is Tuesday, October 1.
- The TE Boys soccer team played host to Illing last night and came away with a resounding 6-0 victory. The result catapults TE atop the table of the CRAL standings. Dylan Leacu started the scoring onslaught with an unassisted goal in the first 10 minutes of the game. TE continued to press and were rewarded after their 4th corner of the game. Haris Zhinipotoku served the ball into the box where Hussien Taleb chested it down and finished if shortly thereafter. After a couple changes to the line-up, Nishil Gangarapu was taken down in the box and awarded a PK. His peers felt he deserved to take the ensuing penalty and didn't disappoint, making it 3-0 with a calm finish past the keeper. The second half was much of the same, with TE on the front foot from the second half whistle. Liam Staroverov finished a pass from Haris, then Haris took matters into his own hands, and hit a once in a lifetime curler over the Illing keeper to make it 5-0. Adam Elsendyouney put the game to bed with a calm finish of a rebound when Staroverov hit the post. The Cougars next game is today after school at Nevers Park against East Hartford.
- The girls soccer team played Illing Middle School yesterday. The Lady Cougars had multiple opportunities to score in the first half, but they were unable to finish. The half ended with no goals on the score board. Early in the second half Illing ended up with a break away towards our goal. Our defense was caught off guard and Illing scored. The Lady Cougars was unable to score to tie up the game. The girls team lost 0-1 yesterday. The team plays again at East Hartford today.
- The field hockey team came away with an 8-1 win against Suffield. Difficult field conditions caused TE to get off to a sluggish start until the dynamic duo of Tori Yelle and Kinley Cincotta started the attack. Kinley Cincotta finished with a hat trick and an assist. Goals were spread out amongst Ella Satilino, Joanna Halle, Kenzie Mason, Stella Swierbutowitz, and Kylie Duval. Ella “Bug” Allore had an assist as well as Allie Scott. Playing aggressive in the midfield was Raegan Burnham , Sarah Bonanno, Emma Hennessy, and Ari Polmatier. Kay Milliken, Arie CoCo, Natalie Goodrich, Violette Desrocher and Maggie Melia were strong in the backfield. TE plays home tomorrow vs Stafford.
- Yesterday the TEMS Boys Cross Country team took their third win on their home course against Sage Park and Windsor Locks.
