The Boys Track Team competed in their first meet in almost 2 years, going up against Illing from Manchester. The energy, nerves, and excitement were high! The boys may have lost the meet, 60-44, but there were some strong showings. Kyden Merlin dominated his events, winning every single one. He won the 100 and 200 meter dash, and the high jump. He was also part of the 4x100 team with Mathias Baidoo, Sonit Shah, and Trestan Calloway who won their relay. Jacob Pflederer won the boys Discus. Matthew Habeeb finished 2nd in high jump. Trestan Calloway finished 2nd in the 200 meter dash. And Shawn Baidoo finished 2nd in the 55 meter hurdles. Many other athletes placed in the Top 3, but it wasn't enough to overcome a strong Illing squad. The boys next meet will be against East Hartford at South Windsor High School on May 10th. Go Cougars!
