  • Welcome back to another edition of TETV Morning News. Today is Monday, April 22.
  • The TE baseball team opened up it's season on a chilly Friday afternoon and surged to a 14 to 3 victory over Ellington.  The Cougar offense pounded out 11 hits in the win.  Leading the way was Nolan Carling with a double, single and RBI.  Dash Hayes had two hits and two RBI, AJ Bryson had two hits and one RBI and Brayden Kearney chipped in with a single and three RBI.  On the mound, Tyler Poland and Torin Edwards limited the Wildcats to three hits while striking out eight batters.  TE plays at JFK in Enfield on Tuesday afternoon.  Good luck boys!
  • The softball team opened their season with a 13 to nothing victory over Ellington Middle School on Friday.  TE was walked a lot, which gave them ample opportunities to score and work on that baserunning. Third baseman, Gemma Duhamel hit her first triple of the season.  Raegan Burnham, Lila Sheridan, and Julia Baron added hits as well. Pitcher Josie Tomkunas dominated on the mound, striking out 13 of the 18 batters she faced.  Catcher Daphne Specht had herself a game behind the plate.  Congratulations ladies!  TE travels to Enfield tomorrow to take on JFK Middle School.  Good luck!
  • We would like to share a great big congratulations to Lilah Gartman, who was chosen as a winner of the “Make A Change” mini grant! • Welcome back to another edition of TETV News. Today is Friday, April 22. Hey don't forget, next weeks spirit day is Artistic Hair day in honor of the opening of the student art show at the library.

  • Yesterday in Manchester the TEMS baseball team opened up it's season with a close, 5 to 2 win over archrival Illing. Continuing his dominance on the mound from last year, Brayden Edwards struck out 13 Rams in six and a third innings pitched while only allowing one hit.  7th grader Kevin Wind came into the game in the bottom of the seventh and with the bases loaded, struck out the last two batters of the game to earn the save and seal the victory.  Offensively, the Cougars were led by Edwards and Aiden Jackson...each with 2 singles and an RBI. Scrappy Elias Jacobs had a single, hit by pitch, walk, stolen base and an RBI.  Also adding singles were Liam Davis, Jaiden Morales, Ryder Haynes and Eddie Casionan.  The Cougars next game is Tuesday at JFK of Enfield.
  • The softball team won their first game of the season yesterday beating Illing Middle School 11 to 2. Alexis Nisyrios threw a solid 6 innings and struck out 12 batters. She also hit a home run and had a few hits. Catcher, Brianna LeGare, had a great game behind the plate. Meghan Doherty added 3 hits and Olivia Doran added 2 more hits. Great job ladies! Next game is Tuesday, April 26th here at TE against JFK middle school.
  • Are you looking for a fun summer camp?  Do you like PE class or like to play games?  If so, you should look into signing up for TEPEE camp.  TEPEE stands for Timothy Edwards Physical Education Experience. If you have any interest, you can sign up through the recreation department or see Mrs. Giaccone in the main gym with any questions.
  • SBAC and NGSS testing takes place during the month of May.  SBAC Testing for all grades will begin on Tuesday, May 3rd. SBAC testing dates include Tuesday, May 3- Thursday, May 5 and Tuesday May 5-Thursday May 12.  NGSS testing for grade 8 only will be on Thursday, May 19.   Please remember to bring a charged Chromebook, earbuds, charger and independent reading book on testing days. If your Chromebook is not working correctly, be sure to submit a ticket into the student online help desk as soon as possible.
  • TEMS will be raising money from April 18th to May 6 along with Eli Terry and PRS to help fight Pantothenate kinase-associated neurodegeneration, also known as PKAN. PKAN is a brain disorder that you are born with. It affects our ability to do everyday activities. PKAN gets worse as you grow up. Most people end up in a wheelchair and can’t talk. Most people with PKAN pass away before the age of 10. Please bring a small donation like $1 or $2 to your homeroom teacher. We also ask that everyone wear red on May 6th to show their support!
  • The Evergreen team is looking for school supply donations to help under-resourced schools -specifically, a non-profit organization that helps children in Enfield called Educational Resources for Children. Please donate NEW school supplies like pencil pouches, folders, #2 pencils, erasers, etc. - or just donate cash. Enfield is in need of our help. Over 15 million children throughout the country don’t have money for school supplies so let’s start locally.  The school supply drive will begin the Monday after vacation. Please give all donations to your homeroom teacher. Thank you!  We are asking that each homeroom teacher collect these donations. They will be collected 2-3 times during the week by Evergreen students. If you have any questions, contact Mrs. Goodale.
