  • Welcome back to another edition of TETV Morning News. Today is Thursday, April 20.
  • The Timothy Edwards baseball team starting off on the right path in defense of its 2022 CRAL Championship by defeating Tolland, 8 to 1. Leading the way offensively for the Cougars was Nick Gombotz with 2 hits, including a triple and 3 RBI.  Ben Tetreault chipped in with 2 singles and Bennett Durbois added a double for the home team. On the pitcher's mound, Tetreault struck out 7 Falcon batters and allowed no hits in picking up the victory.  Durbois and Braydon Falco finished up on the mound to assist in the win.  TE's next game is at home Monday vs. Ellington.   
  • Have you ever heard about Purple Up Day? The whole month of April is celebrated as the Month of the Military Child and it's a great opportunity to honor and appreciate military families and their children for the sacrifices they make and the challenges they overcome. Since military parents are often away from home, Purple Up Day became an important symbol of supporting, uplifting, and being there for military kids since their built-in support system isn’t always available to them. Help us support them by wearing your PURPLE tomorrow April 21st.
  • Attention all 8th graders, Tomorrow night is the Neon Dance. Come on out in your brightest outfits and dance the night away with your friends. Tickets are on sale today and tomorrow  in common area C. Students attending must complete the Google Form which can be found on the TE homepage. Funds from this dance will go to support the Boston Trip for 8th graders. Google Form Link
  • Out of the Blue will meet after school on Monday, April 24.  It is imperative that all club members attend because we are finalizing the draft of our magazine.  Ms. Olsen looks forward to seeing you there.  
  • Auditions for TETV News roles for the fourth quarter will be held next Wednesday, April 26th after school. Students interested in being an anchor on the TETV News should come and try out. For the audition, you will read through a daily news script off of a teleprompter. Any questions please see Mr. Goric for more information.

  • Welcome back to another edition of TETV News. Today is Wednesday, April 20 and it’s Earth Day.
  • South Windsor Youth and Family Services would like to thank all of the students that entered a poster for the Healthy Living Poster Contest. The submissions were excellent this year! The judges for the contest chose the top 9 posters and here are the results: Honorable Mentions: Disha Gottam – Sage,  Nebeyu Esayas  - Sage, Joann Varghese – Scarlet, Pooja Manian – Emerald, Avery Manser – Evergreen, Nailah Nsakala – Ruby, 3rd Place: Abhipsa Pattnaik - Sage, 2nd Place: Astha Tripathy - Evergreen, 1st Place: Isabella Chan - Sage. Congrats to everyone and thank you for participating!
  • Attention Writers and Artists!  The final submission window is open for Out of the Blue.  Please  join the Google Classroom for details on submitting your creative writing or visual art.  The deadline is April 22nd, and the classroom code is 2jvi3d4.
  • Are you looking for a fun summer camp?  Do you like PE class or like to play games?  If so, you should look into signing up for TEPEE camp.  TEPEE stands for Timothy Edwards Physical Education Experience. If you have any interest, you can sign up through the recreation department or see Mrs. Giaccone in the main gym with any questions. 
  • In honor of National Pretzel Day- “Eat a pretzel, Be a pretzel” Come join us at the Teen Center for Pretzels and Yoga from 3-4:30pm on Tuesday, April 26thWe are now accepting registration for the Rising Stars Summer Program! Our first session of middle school is full but there are spots available for our July 25th session. We do teambuilding activities, volunteer at the animal shelter, help around the community, go on trips and more fun! Please reach out to Danielle if interested!
  • SBAC and NGSS testing takes place during the month of May.  SBAC Testing for all grades will begin on Tuesday, May 3rd. SBAC testing dates include Tuesday, May 3- Thursday, May 5 and Tuesday May 5-Thursday May 12.  NGSS testing for grade 8 only will be on Thursday, May 19.   Please remember to bring a charged Chromebook, earbuds, charger and independent reading book on testing days. If your Chromebook is not working correctly, be sure to submit a ticket into the student online help desk as soon as possible. 
  • TEMS will be raising money from April 18th to May 6 along with Eli Terry and PRS to help fight Pantothenate kinase-associated neurodegeneration, also known as PKAN. PKAN is a brain disorder that you are born with. It affects our ability to do everyday activities. PKAN gets worse as you grow up. Most people end up in a wheelchair and can’t talk. Most people with PKAN pass away before the age of 10.. Please bring a small donation like $1 or $2 to your homeroom teacher. We also ask that everyone wear red on May 6th to show their support!

  • This week is a Cougar week. It is a Day 1 for Grades 6, 7 & 8.
  • Attention all students taking the late bus.    If you need a late bus for after school activities or sports please be sure to sign up on the day of the activity.  The sign up is located in your homeroom.
  • 8th Grade Orchestra - remember that we have the after school rehearsal tomorrow. Don't forget to bring your instruments to school! I'll see you tomorrow. 

  • Intramural Tennis/Pickleball will be held this spring with Mr. Chandler on three consecutive Wednesdays, starting May 12th and ending on May 26th...weather permitting.  Please note, students will either play tennis or pickleball during the session. If interested, please see Mr. Chandler or any other PE teacher for a permission slip, which will be available in the main gym or the main office.  Space will be limited as there are only four courts, so get your permission slip in early. If you have any questions, please see Mr. Chandler in the main gym or in Room 135.
  • It’s that time of year again- time to take part in helping choose the 2021 Intermediate and Middle School Nutmeg Book Award winners.  The Nutmeg Book Award is chosen by students in grades 4 to 8 throughout the state and represents our state book award. You must have read at least one or more of the current Nutmeg nominees in either category to be eligible to vote AND can only vote once per category. Voting will start on Thursday, April 1st  and end on Friday, April 23rd. Cast your vote online by visiting the main LMC page. Make sure you have a say in this year’s Nutmeg Book Award Winner. See Mrs. Longo if you have any questions.
