  • Welcome back to another edition of TETV Morning News. Today is Friday, April 5.
  • International Night was a ROARing success last night. A huge shoutout to all the students and staff performers for their amazing acts. From Spotlight, a staff band, and many student dance groups, the cultural exchange was amazing. The setup in the cafeteria allowed community members to showcase their cultures and even share some delicious food. Thanks to everyone involved in organizing and running this amazing event. 
  • Attention Cougar Robotics Participants. Our end of the season party and disassembly will take place on Monday, April 15th afterschool. Please bring a treat or snack to share. We will watch back some of the matches, take apart our creations, and enjoy some time celebrating our work this season. Any questions please contact your team coach.
  • Auditions for TETV News Anchors will be held on Wednesday, April 17th afterschool. Interested students will audition by reading through a daily news script off of a teleprompter. Any questions please see Mr. Goric for more information.
  • Attention 6th Graders trying out for Track and Field. 6th grade tryouts will be on Monday, April 15th after we return from break.  Please reach out to Mr. Millard or Mrs. Edwards with any questions.
  • It’s that time of year again- time to take part in helping choose the 2024 Intermediate and Middle School Nutmeg Book Award winners.  The Nutmeg Book Award is chosen by students in grades 4 to 8 throughout the state and represents our state book award. You must have read at least one or more of the current Nutmeg nominees in either category to be eligible to vote AND can only vote once per category. Voting will start on Wednesday, April 3rd  and end on Friday, April 26th.Cast your vote online by visiting the main LMC page; make sure you have a say in this year’s Nutmeg Book Award Winner! Thanks and have a great day!
  • Are you a 7th grader looking for a fun activity to do during WIN period? Join Mrs. Reed and Ms. Mills for “Mood Boosters”! Each week we will talk about a new topic and play a game or do a related activity. Sign up THIS week in the Guidance Office – don’t delay, spots are filling up!
  • Attention all members of our TE family, submissions for Out of the Blue are due by Monday April 15, the day we return from April Break!  That's no joke!  So please submit your poems, short stories, drawings, paintings, and photos.  Thank you to everyone who has already submitted.  We especially need more poems this year and we know how talented you all are!  You can even submit something you wrote for a class.  Please share with Ms. Olsen through Google!
  • Are you interested in improving your overall fitness?  Or want to get just a little stronger or faster or maybe hang out with friends while being active.  If so, join Mr. Chandler after school for Fitness Club, starting April 17th.  The program runs every Wednesday and Thursday through May 23rd, and they are on late bus days too.  Registration is through the South Windsor Rec Department and you can start registering on April 3rd.  Don't miss out as this program fills up quickly.  Only 30 students will be able to participate.  Additional information can be found on the tables in the boys and girls locker rooms.  Any questions, please see Mr. Chandler in the main gym.

  • Spring Matinee Registration is open!! Visit the TEMS homepage to view the matinee brochure and to register. Registration closes on Thursday @5:00pm. 
  • Jump Start WILL be held this afternoon. Please bring all of your supplies down to the cafeteria after school.
  • The South Windsor Teens Cycling Club is a biking club open to all middle and high school students in South Windsor! In this club, we will go on monthly bike rides together, on select Saturday mornings. The group will bike on local trails and bike routes in South Windsor. In the cycling club, you can socialize with other student cyclists, improve your fitness and biking skills, enjoy cycling with a group, and harness all the benefits of cycling. Each group ride has adult volunteers to coordinate the event. A functional bike and helmet are required. You can register for the cycling club on the South Windsor Parks & Rec website. Registration opens April 5th and will close April 14th.   • Attention all TE students! Are you interested in writing articles, poems, and stories? Do you like to create fun slides or draw comic strips? If the answer is yes, then you should join the school newspaper club and share your talents with others through the Cougar Current. You can submit written works, videos, pictures of artwork, google forms, slides, and more! Make sure to also check out our latest issue through the school homepage. We have a very special interview featuring Ms. Sullivan on Lime!
  • Have you ever had a great idea to share some kindness with the world, but didn’t have the money to make it happen? Well here is your chance! South Windsor Youth and Family has created a new MAKE A CHANGE Mini Grant, which encourages STUDENTS to put their ideas into action. This grant to specifically for students to submit, but you can have an adult in the building support your proposal. The project should promote or inspire kindness, contribute to positive mental health, support inclusion OR encourage a positive school community. Each grant awarded will have a $200 maximum. For more information and for a link to the application, go to the main TEMS page and click on MAKE A CHANGE mini grant. If you have questions, please see Mrs. Reed in Room 209. Proposals are due by Friday, April 7th.
  • To all students registered for track tryouts. Tryouts will be held after school from 2:45-4:30.  Please arrange your transportation home in advance.  Remember to dress for the weather and bring a water bottle. 6th grade boys and girls will be today.  See you then!

  • Welcome back to another edition of TETV News. Today is Tuesday, April 5. Hey don’t forget, tomorrow's theme for spirit day is opening day, so wear your favorite baseball or softball outfits. 
  • Are you interested in improving your overall fitness this spring?  If so, sign up for the Spring Fitness club, hosted by Mr. Chandler.  In this program students will practice safe methods geared toward improving flexibility, muscular strength, cardio-respiratory fitness, and muscular endurance.  Space is limited to 30 participants, so sign up early to reserve your spot.  Registration is through the Rec Dept. and opens at 8:00 am on April 6th.  For more information see Mr. Chandler in the main gym.
  • And now a message from the Teen Center. Join us at the Teen Center today to de-stress and play with Therapy Dogs from 4-5pm. The dogs cannot wait to meet you today, so stop on by. During April Break, the Teen Center is having a Chair Volleyball Rematch against the Senior Center from 11-12:30pm on April 12th. We need all hands on deck to claim the winning title...we can't let them win a second time! Be a pretzel, eat a pretzel!   • This week is a Purple week. It is a Day 3 for for Grade 6 and a Day 5 Grades 7 & 8.
  • Baseball Tryout Information - 6th and 7th Graders Only: Monday, April 19th 2:45 to 4:30 and Tuesday, April 20th - 2:45 to 4:30. 8th Graders Only: Wednesday, April 21st - 2:45 to 4:30 and Thursday, April 22nd - 2:45 to 4:30. 
  • Softball tryouts for all grades will begin on Monday, 4/19 from 2:45 to 4:30.  Please check the TEMS website for further information.  
  • Attention Students...Volleyball intramurals are back! Volleyball intramurals are free for all students after school from 2:45-4:00.  Sessions will begin after April break.  Six grade students can sign up for Mondays  4/19 and 4/26, and 5/3.  7th grade students can sign up for Wednesdays 4/21, 4/28,and 5/5. 8th grade students can sign up for Thursdays 4/22, 4/29, 5/6. All sessions will be on late bus days. You must take the late bus home or have a ride home at 4:00.  A form can be picked up in the office or down in the gym.  Any questions please see a PE teacher.
  • The Teen Center will be adjusting their middle school drop-in hours to accommodate the new school schedule beginning on April 5th. We will be open Tuesdays and Fridays from 2:45-5pm. Also, during April break, the Teen Center will be having two special events to celebrate your April vacation. On Tuesday, April 13th we will be having an ice-cream party and minute to win it games from 12-3pm. On Friday, April 16th we will be having a pizza party and tie-dye, also from 12-3pm.   • Parents and Students: As Spring approaches, so does the Yearbook season! Remember to order the TEMS 2021 Yearbook BEFORE the price goes up one last time. Order your book online NOW for $40.00.
