  • Welcome back to another edition of TETV Morning News. Today is Tuesday, March 5.
  • Continuing the announcement regarding winners from Saturday's History Day Contest at UCONN, let's turn to the Performance Category. In the Individual Performance Category, Lily Flynn took 4th place honors, Emma O'Brien was awarded 3rd place honors and Asmi Kulkarni received the top prize for most outstanding solo performance. In the Group Performance Category, the team of Anvi Panat, Sai Reddy and Aadya Yadav came in 3rd place. Congrats to all these students who automatically advance to the state contest. Tomorrow, we will wrap up our final announcement with the last group of History Day medalists. 
  • You can earn purple ROAR tickets all month long by demonstrating Respect, Ownership, Acceptance, and Resilience. To enter to win prizes, put your first and last name and team on the ticket and place tickets in the box next to the safety desk. Drawings will be announced Fridays all month long.
  • On Saturday, March 2nd, some members of CougarTHON went to UCONN to participate in their annual HuskyTHON dance marathon, and to present our total fundraising contributions.  We had an amazingly successful first year together and we couldn't have done it without all of you!  We want to thank you all for coming together to help us Build The Moment this year at TE to help put an end to childhood illness. We are so proud to announce that CougarTHON raised a total of $6,660 this year!!!!! Thank you again, and we can't wait to come back next year, have some fun, and help this amazing cause.  
  • It's time for a VERY SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT from Animal Lovers! We are now announcing the winner of the Animal Lovers Contest! DRUMROLL, PLEASE!!!!!!! BOOTZ THE DOG! Bootz, you will be rewarded with a cool certificate made by Kristina Kelly and a bunch of tennis balls! Thank you Ms. Bynoe for letting the Animal Lovers host this event! Credits to Aarna Jaggi for writing all the announcements, and to Advik Adapala for choosing our contestants! And thank you, COUGARS, for being a part of this! We're so glad we could host this! Thank you so much! Once again, congratulations to Bootz! Now let's continue with the announcements!
  • Attention Science Olympiad members with competition fast approaching, please plan to attend the following meeting times this week to prepare for our upcoming competition on March 16th. This week Wednesday and Thursday after school until 4pm and Saturday from 11:00 am to 2:00pm. We look forward to seeing you there Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday this week.
  • Calling All Middle Schoolers! Spring Matinee registration started yesterday! Ready to unleash your creativity, explore new interests, and have some fun after school? Check out the Spring Matinee Brochure on the TEMS Homepage to discover a variety of exciting activities you can't miss! Registration closes on Friday at 11:59 PM! The registration link is posted on the TEMS Homepage. Registration must be done by a parent/guardian. One course per student.
  • Tickets for Entertainer's production of "Finding Nemo, Junior" are now on sale every morning in the lobby by the cafeteria and library. Don't miss out on this underwater adventure brought to life on stage! Tickets are $10 for both students and adults, but we have special pricing available: $5 for individuals aged 65 and older and children 5 and under. Be sure to show your support for our talented TEMS students who are involved in the production, whether they're shining on stage or working behind the scenes to make magic happen! If you're a fan of the beloved movie "Finding Nemo," you're in for a treat with the musical version featuring all your favorite characters! While tickets will be available at the door on the night of performances, we encourage you not to wait, as we anticipate a high demand and possible sell-outs! Mark your calendars for the show dates: Thursday, March 7th; Friday, March 8th; and Saturday, March 9th at 7 pm, with an additional matinee performance on Saturday the 9th at 1 pm. If you have any questions or need assistance, feel free to reach out to Mrs. Leveille or Ms. Carver.
  • Do you have an artifact, dance, song, food, or other product from your culture that you would like to share with our school community? Then your family should sign up to share a booth at international night. Families will have a table to set up their booth and share their culture in the cafeteria on April 4 starting at 5:30pm. If you have something you would like to share, please have a parent or guardian fill out the google form on TEMS website to RSVP for a booth! Interested in seeing the displays but not having a booth? You can also RSVP with the same Google form to come see the booths and performance at international night! Check out these cultural dances from around the world in today’s music video.

  • This week is a Cougar week. It is a day 4 for Grade 6 and a day 1 for Grades 7 & 8. 
  • This past Saturday, Feb. 27th, Timothy Edwards had three teams of students compete in the Southern New England Regional Science Bowl competition, sponsored by the University of Connecticut. 32 middle school teams from around Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island participated in the all-day virtual event.  Team #1 received high scores in both morning rounds, including the highest score of all 32 teams in round 2.  In the afternoon, Team #1 tied for 6th place out of 32 in the first elimination round, and came in 3rd out of 16 in the second elimination round. While TE didn’t win the overall competition, the students worked and practiced long and hard, and we are very proud of them all! Congratulations to the following students:

Team 1: Adithya Anand, Aarush Argawal; Nithish Jayaraj, Pranay Kakkar, and Jason Thokchom.

Team 2: Aditya Jha, Aryan Manchala, Rishab Premish, Guru Seenivasan, and Vihaan Reddy Vennapureddy.

Team 3: Akshaj Nadimpalli, Ashwin Nair, Mukhil Olinilavan, Jeremy Shiju, and Daniel Stoyanov and substitute Vandith Reddy Vennapureddy.

  • It’s time to check out and vote for the 2021 March Madness Book Brackets! To cast your vote, CLICK HERE. You don’t have to have read the books; just vote for the title whose summary sounds the most interesting.   If you are interested in any of the titles, come to the library to check out the print copy or go to Destiny Discover to check out the eBook or e-audio. Voting for the first round will end at the close of the school day on Friday, March 5th. Don’t get left out on the sidelines; make sure you have your say in this year’s March Madness book winner! Please see or email Mrs. Longo if you have any questions. For more information on the 2021 Nutmeg Nominees, check out these two Padlets, which can be found on the main LMC page.

  • Be the Change Club is raising money towards the PJ Program. The PJ Program is a non-profit organization that collects new PJs and books to donate to foster kids. Our goal is to collect $250 by the end of February. Online donations are accepted. CLICK HERE to support for this amazing program.
