• Welcome back to another edition of TETV Morning News. Today is Friday, March 3.

• Attention All 8th Grade Students: The 2023 TEMS Yearbook Staff would like to create a "Besties Page", but we need YOU to send us your SELFIE with your BESTIE!  Make sure it is an image file, like a pdf or img, and NOT a Google doc or slide. Just email your Bestie Photos to [email protected]  Submissions will be accepted until Friday 3/10 end of day.

• It’s that time of year again- time to start voting on the 2023 TE March Madness Book Bracket! Check out and vote on the 8 book match-ups on the LMC page under the “March Madness Book Bracket.” You don’t have to have read the books you are voting on; just vote for the title whose summary sounds the most interesting. Feel free to come down to the LMC check out the print copy,  or check out the digital copies available on Destiny Discover. The first round of voting will end on Thursday, March 9th at noon.. Don’t get left out on the sidelines; make sure you have your say in this year’s March Madness book winner! Click Here to check out the books.  Click Here to vote.

• Attention Baseball Players...The South Windsor Recreation Department is offering four days of a baseball spring training clinic.  In the clinic, you will get a jumpstart on the season by participating in hitting, fielding and baserunning drills and learn overall game strategy tactics.  The clinic will prepare you mentally and physically for the up and coming tryouts and baseball season.  Pick up a flier in the main gym and register on the Recreation website.  The clinic will run for four dates after school in March.  See Mr. S for more information.  

• Attention all spring sport athletes...registration for baseball, softball and track and field is now open. The deadline to register is Monday, April 3rd.  You will need to register on the parent portal and turn in an updated physician statement to the main office by the deadline.  The physician statement must be dated after June 1st, 2022.  Tryouts dates and times will be posted by mid March. 

• And now for a Teen Center Announcement - Students can get a ride with Teen Center staff after school on Tuesdays for our drop-in hours 3-5:30pm if you would like to participate and may not be able to get transportation. • Welcome back to another edition of TETV News. Today is Thursday, March 3. Great job with the spirit day yesterday. Lets take a look at some of our best dressed students…We love when you bring the school spirit. Don’t forget, next week is Book Character Day!

• It’s time to check out and vote for the 2022 March Madness Book Brackets! To cast your vote, go to the LMC page, click on the March Madness Book Bracket link and then on the link for voting in round 1. You don’t have to have read the books; just vote for the title whose summary sounds the most interesting.  If you are interested in any of the titles, come to the library to check out the print copy or go to Destiny Discover to check out the digital copy. Voting for the first time will end at noon on Friday, March 4th Don’t get left out on the sidelines; make sure you have your say in this year’s March Madness book winner! • Attention all Spotlight Members:  When walkers and car riders are called today, please report to Mrs. Gasta in the auditorium to receive your tickets for our performance at The Main Event next week. 

• Attention all baseball, softball and track athletes; spring sports registration is now open.  The deadline to register is  Friday, March 18th.  Please go the the "Athletics Registration" page on the TE website for further instructions.  You must complete all 3 parts of the registration process in order to be eligible for tryouts.  

• Have you ever thought about what you want to do after high school? One excellent option to consider is continuing your education and March is College Awareness month here at TE! Today we will highlight four staff members' experiences. Don't forget, there will be a trivia quiz on Friday about the college facts we share. You could win a college T-shirt.

• This week is a Cougar week. It is a day 2 for Grade 6 and a day 4 for Grades 7 & 8. 

• March is Women's History Month. Women's History Month is an opportunity to celebrate the contributions and recognize the specific achievements women have made over the course of history in a variety of fields. In celebration of Women’s History Month, we are offering an after school enrichment opportunity for students to engage in a program with the CT Women’s Hall of Fame, on either 3/10 or 3/18 (same program is offered twice). CLICK HERE to learn more.
