  • Welcome back to another edition of TETV Morning News. Today is Thursday, March 2.
  • Attention Baseball Players...The South Windsor Recreation Department is offering four days of a baseball spring training clinic.  In the clinic, you will get a jumpstart on the season by participating in hitting, fielding and baserunning drills and learn overall game strategy tactics.  The clinic will prepare you mentally and physically for the up and coming tryouts and baseball season.  Pick up a flier in the main gym and register on the Recreation website.  The clinic will run for four dates after school in March.  See Mr. S for more information.  
  • It’s that time of year again- time to start voting on the 2023 TE March Madness Book Bracket! Check out and vote on the 8 book match-ups on the LMC page under the “March Madness Book Bracket.” You don’t have to have read the books you are voting on; just vote for the title whose summary sounds the most interesting. Feel free to come down to the LMC check out the print copy,  or check out the digital copies available on Destiny Discover. The first round of voting will end on Thursday, March 9th at noon.Don’t get left out on the sidelines; make sure you have your say in this year’s March Madness book winner! Click Here to check out the books.  Click Here to vote.  

  •  The Kindness Door decorating contest is well underway, and students and teachers should have their designs finished by today. TE Leaders will be judging entries tomorrow morning. Lets all spread some Kindness throughout the school and community. We cannot wait to see your finished designs.
  • Attention all spring sport athletes...registration for baseball, softball and track and field is now open. The deadline to register is Monday, April 3rd.  You will need to register on the parent portal and turn in an updated physician statement to the main office by the deadline.  The physician statement must be dated after June 1st, 2022.  Tryouts dates and times will be posted by mid March. 
  • And now for a Teen Center Announcement - Students can get a ride with Teen Center staff after school on Tuesdays for our drop-in hours 3-5:30pm if you would like to participate and may not be able to get transportation. Middle School students can join us at the Teen Center on Tuesdays 3-5:30 pm and Fridays from 6-9pm. Register on Sign-Up Genius- https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0f4fa8a622a2ffce9-middle#/ Want to channel your inner artist?   • It’s time to check out and vote for the 2022 March Madness Book Brackets! To cast your vote, go to the LMC page, click on the March Madness Book Bracket link and then on the link for voting in round 1. You don’t have to have read the books; just vote for the title whose summary sounds the most interesting.  If you are interested in any of the titles, come to the library to check out the print copy or go to Destiny Discover to check out the digital copy. Voting for the first time will end at noon on Friday, March 4th Don’t get left out on the sidelines; make sure you have your say in this year’s March Madness book winner!   • 6th,7th, and 8th grade students from Ms. Gravell's quarter 2 Art classes, please pick up your clay projects asap! 
  • Have you ever thought about what you want to do after high school? One excellent option to consider is continuing your education and March is College Awareness month here at TE! Today we will highlight four staff members' experiences. Don't forget, there will be a trivia quiz on Friday about the college facts we share. You could win a college T-shirt.

  • This week is a Cougar week. It is a day 1 for Grade 6 and a day 3 for Grades 7 & 8. 
  • March is Women's History Month. Women's History Month is an opportunity to celebrate the contributions and recognize the specific achievements women have made over the course of history in a variety of fields. In celebration of Women’s History Month, we are offering an after school enrichment opportunity for students to engage in a program with the CT Women’s Hall of Fame, on either 3/10 or 3/18 (same program is offered twice). CLICK HERE to learn more. 
  • Congratulations to the 18 TEMS students who participated in the February 27th Connecticut Middle School Debate League (CTMSDL) Tournament. Highlighting the event was the 3rd Place finish in the Open Division by the Timothy Edwards team of Smriti Rajan, Lalitha Papanasam and Sanjay Rajan. The team went undefeated through three rounds of the tournament and narrowly missed participating in the Championship Round. An incredible individual performance was turned in by Smriti Rajan, who was also awarded 2nd Place as the Overall Individual Debater! Congrats to all debaters - see you at the next Debate Tournament on  April 24th.

  • Be the Change Club is raising money towards the PJ Program. The PJ Program is a non-profit organization that collects new PJs and books to donate to foster kids. Our goal is to collect $250 by the end of February. Online donations are accepted. CLICK HERE to support for this amazing program.
