  • Welcome back to another edition of TETV Morning News. Today is Friday, March 1.
  • Good morning Cougars. We are excited to be launching ROAR Madness starting today March 1st. During ROAR Madness, teachers will be recognizing students who are showing Respect, Ownership, Acceptance and Resilience with purple tickets all month long. Students can then place them in the big raffle bucket during lunch waves with their names on them. Each Friday we draw names and will announce students who have been recognized. Students will also get to choose a prize from this menu. We look forward to ROARING through March together!
  • Attention Science Olympiad members. With the competition approaching we will have special meetings this Saturday from 11:00am to 2 pm with Ms. Bynoe and next Saturday 11:00 -2 with Ms. Bajorek. Please look at posts in our Google Classroom for more details.
  • Calling All Middle Schoolers! Spring Matinee registration starts Monday, March 4th at 9 AM! Ready to unleash your creativity, explore new interests, and have some fun after school? Check out the Spring Matinee Brochure on the TEMS Homepage to discover a variety of exciting activities you can't miss! Registration begins Monday morning at 9:00 AM! The registration link will be posted on the TEMS Homepage. Registration must be done by a parent/guardian. One course per student.
  • It’s time to start casting your votes to determine the 2024 March Madness Book Brackets Winner! Check out and vote on the 8 book match-ups on the LMC page under the March Madness Book Bracket link. You don’t have to have read the books you are voting on; just vote for the title whose summary sounds the most interesting. The first round of voting will end on Friday, March 8Th at noon. Don’t get left out on the sidelines; make sure you have your say in this year’s March Madness book winner!
  • Good luck to our Cougar Cheerleading team as they travel to Oxford High School this afternoon for their competition.  The team, led by captains Maddie Osorio, Jocelyn Veillieux, Carina Alicia, and Aubrey Pugrab, will go up against 9 other middle schools, and the captains, along with 7th grader Emily St. Arnauld, will compete in a stunt competition.  Good luck, ladies!
  • Hello, Cougars! We will now be announcing which animals are advancing to the SEMI-FINALS!!!Aladdin beat Sterling and advanced easily! Looks like his magic lamp really works! Panini used his sandwich power to beat Carina! I'll need to order some more celebratory paninis.....Bootz beat Tweed with his tough boots! All chinchillas are eliminated now! Goodbye, chinchilla crew! And finally, Finn beat Linus the Cat with his cuteness and beautiful tongue that's sticking out! Hooray, Finn, Aladdin, Panini, and Bootz! Congrats to you, and to the animals that lost, congratulations for at least beating one round. The finals will be announced on Monday! Stay tuned, and get your votes in quick for the semi-finals!   • Out of the Blue will meet on Monday, March 4 immediately after school in room 222. Again, Out of the Blue will meet on Monday.
  • Tickets for Entertainer's production of "Finding Nemo, Junior" are now on sale every morning in the lobby by the cafeteria and library. Don't miss out on this underwater adventure brought to life on stage! Tickets are $10 for both students and adults, but we have special pricing available: $5 for individuals aged 65 and older and children 5 and under. Be sure to show your support for our talented TEMS students who are involved in the production, whether they're shining on stage or working behind the scenes to make magic happen! If you're a fan of the beloved movie "Finding Nemo," you're in for a treat with the musical version featuring all your favorite characters! While tickets will be available at the door on the night of performances, we encourage you not to wait, as we anticipate a high demand and possible sell-outs! Mark your calendars for the show dates: Thursday, March 7th; Friday, March 8th; and Saturday, March 9th at 7 pm, with an additional matinee performance on Saturday the 9th at 1 pm. If you have any questions or need assistance, feel free to reach out to Mrs. Leveille or Ms. Carver.
  • Are you interested in learning about different cultures? Do you like to try different foods from all around the world? If yes, then be sure to come to International Night, a cultural extravaganza! We will have a variety of activities, including performances from different cultures, various types of food from different cuisines, cultural crafts, activities to appreciate our different ethnicities, and LOTS of fun! Come join us on International Night on April 4th from 6-8pm! It’s going to be an awesome experience! Please have your parent or guardian fill out the Google form that is on the TE website to let us know you will be coming to this special event!

  • Welcome back to another edition of TETV Morning News. Today is Wednesday, March 1.
  • Now here is the TE Leaders with a Kindness Quote of the day: Hello I'm Sam Binkowski with the TE leaders and your kindness quote today is "When you are kind to others, it not only changes you it changes the world".
  • In case you didn't hear, our TE cheer team had a busy weekend!  On Friday, cheer teams from Vernon, Manchester, and Ellington came to TE for the first annual Regional Showcase.  The TE cheerleaders wowed the crowd with their cheers, jumps, tumbling, and competition routine.  The girls on the team received numerous individual awards and the whole team received the Best Stunt award for their routine and Sharpest Motions for their cheer. Then on Saturday morning, the team traveled to East Haven High School for the New England Cheer Association competition taking  1st place as a middle school in their division, and 2nd out of 10 middle schools in the entire competition.  They even beat 3 Varsity high school teams.  Way to represent!  Also at the competition, 5 girls from TE, Gianna Santagata, Taylor Johnson, Aubrey Pugrab, Jocelyn Veilleux, and Monet Dufrense, competed in a stunt division taking 1st place again!  Their stunt beat 5 Varsity high school stunt groups.
  • In other school news. There will be a cross team lunch this Thursday, March 2nd.
  • It’s that time of year again- time to start voting on the 2023 TE March Madness Book Bracket! Check out and vote on the 8 book match-ups on the LMC page under the “March Madness Book Bracket.” You don’t have to have read the books you are voting on; just vote for the title whose summary sounds the most interesting.   • The Kindness Door decorating contest is well underway, and students and teachers should have their designs finished by tomorrow, March 2nd. TE Leaders will be judging entries this Friday. Lets all spread some Kindness throughout the school and community. We cannot wait to see your finished designs.
  • Attention all spring sport athletes...registration for baseball, softball and track and field is now open. The deadline to register is Monday, April 3rd.  You will need to register on the parent portal and turn in an updated physician statement to the main office by the deadline.  The physician statement must be dated after June 1st, 2022.  Tryouts dates and times will be posted by mid March. 
  • And now for a Teen Center Announcement - Students can get a ride with Teen Center staff after school on Tuesdays for our drop-in hours 3-5:30pm if you would like to participate and may not be able to get transportation.   • Welcome back to another edition of TETV News. Today is Tuesday, March 1. Don't forget our winning spirit Wednesdays. This week our spirit day is Dress your Best! We cannot wait to see your fancy outfits tomorrow.
  • Last week the TEMS math team participated in the 2022 MathCounts Chapter competition. The following students represented TE:  Girish Prasad, Shaurya Ranjan, Shreyash Gupta, Gian Handa, Ishan Argwal, Satvik Koppu, Sanjana Kadiyala and Akhil Shunmugaraja. These gifted mathletes competed against 29 teams and we are excited to say that the TEMS team of Girish, Shaurya, Shreyash and Gian came in first placeThere were 170 individuals who participated in the Chapter competition, and again TE showed its strength.  Girish Prasad came in 2nd overall!  Ishan Agarwal came in 4th place, and Shaurya Ranjan came in 6th place! Congratulations to the TEMS math team for their outstanding success in the Hartford Chapter! Good luck to Girish, Ishan and Shaurya as they advance to the State Level Competition.

  • 6th,7th, and 8th grade students from Ms. Gravell's quarter 2 Art classes, Please Pick Up Your clay projects asap! 
  • Attention all students, the TEMS Tok challenge is coming back for spring, but this time it is a student competition. Each grade level team and four special teams will compete in four rounds of competition to determine who will be the ultimate TemsTok Champion. If you are interested in participating, speak to your team leader. We will start showing the videos on March 16th, so get together with your teams and lets have an amazing time learning and performing some dances together. Who will be the TEMS Tok Team champion?!?!?!
  • Have you ever thought about what you want to do after high school? One excellent option to consider is continuing your education and March is College Awareness month here at TE! Today we will highlight four staff members' experiences.

  • This week is a Cougar week. It is a Day 4 for Grade 6 and a Day 2 for grades 7 & 8. 

  • Is winter weather getting you down?  Tired of the cold and snow?  No worries, this is a GREAT time to challenge yourself to read some of the exceptional titles on the 2021 Intermediate and Middle School Nutmeg Nominee lists!  Voting for your favorite 2021 Nutmeg Nominees will take place at the beginning of April, so NOW is the time to get cozy with a book and READ!  Please note, to be eligible to vote, you have to have read at least one or more titles from either group of nominees.  You can check out a print copy from the LMC or check out the digital version within Destiny Discover. If you aren’t sure how to access the digital version, watch the video on the LMC page under “How to Videos.”   If you are checking out a print copy, please make sure that your teacher calls before coming down to the library. For more information on the 2021 Nutmeg Nominees, check out these two Padlets, which can be found on the LMC page, under Reading Suggestions.

  •  Be the Change Club is raising money towards the PJ Program. The PJ Program is a non-profit organization that collects new PJs and books to donate to foster kids. Our goal is to collect $250 by the end of February. Online donations are accepted. CLICK HERE to support for this amazing program.
