  • Welcome back to another edition of TETV Morning News. Today is Friday, February 9.
  • The championship round has been played against Sage, Scarlet, and Cobalt. It was a tough battle. Cobalt was quickly eliminated and it was up to Sage and Scarlet. In the final battle against the two teams Scarlet quickly won beating Sage in just two rounds. Congratulations Scarlet! 7th grade has won a cross team lunch with your victory
  • Tonight is our CougarTHON TE volleyball tournament!  Thank you to all who signed up and are participating.  There will be snacks and drinks for sale as well as "enter to win" tickets, all for $1 each.  We will have water for sale, but please feel free to bring your own.  We can't wait to see you promptly at 4:45 to sign in.  Games will begin at 5:00 sharp.  So bring your positive energy and come have tons of fun!! The TE All Star Teacher team can’t wait!
  • February 15th is Random Acts of Kindness Day! It's a day dedicated to spreading joy and positivity throughout our school community and beyond. One way you could participate is to Smile and Greet: Say "good morning" to everyone you meet each day. A simple smile can brighten someone's day! Let's make February 15th a day to remember by spreading kindness everywhere we go! Remember, even the smallest act of kindness can make a big difference. Together, we can create a culture of kindness in our school. Have a wonderful day, and let's spread some kindness!
  • Ever dream of leading the way, solving problems like a pro, and making your school (or even the world!) a better place? Then this Explorations in Leadership Workshop is your chance to shine! Join South Windsor High School FBLA students as we build confidence, communication, and problem-solving skills that impress everyone and get a sneak peek into what being a leader is all about!! Come on out Feb 14th after school in Mr. Smith-Horn’s Room number 382.
  • Attention all Band Students; all of Mr. Marci's instrumental lessons are canceled for today.  Please remain in your regular encore class.
  • Out of the Blue will meet immediately after school on Monday, 2/12 in room 222.  Ms. Olsen hopes to see you there.  
  • Are you interested in playing volleyball intramurals after school?  If so, please sign up using the google form on the TEMS website.  Registration begins today and will close on Tuesday, February 20th or once the first 75 students register.  Please note, Volleyball Intramurals will be held on late bus days as well.  For more information see your PE teachers in the main gym.
  • Any 8th grader interested in auditioning for the South Windsor High School show choir, Choral Spectrum, should join the audition Google Classroom using class code 2b7zjtr. See Mrs. Gasta in room 141 with any questions.
  • Attention all students and staff, the student council will be hosting their annual carnation sale starting today. Carnations will be sold during all lunch waves for $2. Send a carnation to your friend, your crush, your favorite teacher, or even a family member. You seriously do not want to miss out on the opportunity to buy a carnation! Get your carnations NOW! They will be passed out on Valentine's Day! 
  • Do you love animals? Do you have pet supplies you are willing to donate? Then be sure to give things to the fundraiser hosted by The Animal Lovers Matinee! Ms. Bynoe and the Animal Lover kids will be doing a fundraiser for "Our Companions Animal Rescue". We want all types of pet supplies, including treats, toys, pillowcases, etc. Bring all supplies to Ms. Bynoe's room (Room 235). Thank you to all teachers and students that have donated! You are appreciated by the Animal Lovers club and all the furry friends at Our Companions Animal Rescue! Please continue to donate supplies to make this fundraiser a success! This will continue till the end of matinees, which are ending soon, so bring your donations in QUICK!
  • In Teen Center news… Volunteer hours are available at the Teen Center. They are looking for volunteers on Feb 6, 13, 14, 16, and March 7th. Stop by and sign up. The Teen Center is also looking for unopened mascara, lipstick, eye shadow and new men’s dress socks. These will be donated to anyone in need for Prom season.   We are also working with The Cornerstone Clothing Bank in Rockville where they will provide dress, jewelry, shoes and suits. Donations can be dropped off at the Teen Center. Also, the Teen Center will be closed on Feb 15th for a trip to The Bushnell to see Frozen.

  • Welcome back to another edition of TETV Morning News.    Today is Thursday, February 9.
  • Time is running out to get your carnations! Make sure you stop by the school store in the cafeteria to purchase your flowers before Valentine’s day on Tuesday. Student council representatives will also be selling carnations before school in Common area A on Thursday and Friday. For only $2 you can write a message and send a flower to friends, crushes, teachers, staff, or family members. You can send an anonymous flower if you would like! Make sure your friends get a flower during homeroom on Tuesday!!! Order your flowers now!!!!
  • The TE Leaders are looking for your suggestions. Please click through the link on the homepage to make suggestions about how we can improve your school experience, as well as possible ideas you have for student leadership opportunities. We look forward to hearing your thoughts. Make sure to contribute today!
  • The literary magazine Out of the Blue will meet after school on Monday, February 13.  All members please come right at the start so you can be present for our club picture.  If you are in Entertainers, you will then be dismissed right away.
  • We are back celebrating Black History Month. Today we recognize Marley Dias. Marley Dias, is a young changemaker who as a sixth-grader founded #1000BlackGirlBooks. Her campaign, #1000BlackGirlBooks, had a goal of collecting and donating children's books that feature Black girls as the lead characters. Dias said, “Each of us has a magic inside of us that we can use to make the world a better place.” Her efforts brought a spotlight to her community and empowered thousands of other children.
  • And now for some Teen Center AnnouncementsOur Youth Council students are hosting a Valentine’s Day Bake Sale to raise money for the Teen Center on Friday, February 10th from 5-7pm. Stop by the Community Center and grab your loved one’s a chocolate covered strawberry and other sweet treats while you can! If you would like to make some sweet treats, consider joining the Teen Baking Club. On the second Tuesday of each month beginning on February 14th from 6-7:30pm students can join Teen Center staff for our Baking Club!

  • Welcome back to another edition of TETV News. Today is Wednesday, February 9, 2022. It is Sports Day today!
  • Attention 8th graders: Please check your counselor’s Google Classroom and complete the South Windsor High School elective courses google form by February 10th. Mrs. Dowty and Mrs. Jennings will be available in Alt 6 during WIN periods on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday if you have any questions. Thank you!
  • Attention all 8th grade students:  Any student interested in auditioning for the South Windsor High School show choir CHORAL SPECTRUM, should immediately join the audition Google Classroom using class code s7di342ALL interested 8th graders are encouraged invited to audition. No prior show choir or choral experience is required. See Mrs. Gasta with any questions.
  • The P.E. Department is offering 5 sessions of volleyball intramurals after school from 2:40-4:05 on late bus days.  Sessions will be held on 2/23, 2/24, 2/28, 3/2, 3/3.  Students will be registered in the order that forms are returned.  The first 50 individuals to register will be admitted to participate. Registration is due by Wednesday 2/16.  
  • Attention all band students.  All of Mr. Marci's small group instrumental lessons for today are cancelled.  Please remain in your regular encore classes today.

  • This is a Purple week. It is a Day 1 for all grades. Today will be a remote learning day for students.  Please follow your regular schedule. 
  • Black History Month- Spotlight on Misty Copeland
  • The Teen Center will be hosting a Virtual Paint Night for students on Tuesday, March 16th from 6:30-7:30pm. Lindsey’s Craft Studio will be leading participants through the creation of a dot mandala painting. This event costs $5 but will go towards a painting kit filled with the supplies needed to create your masterpiece.   • Spirit Day Tomorrow - Flannel Day - Gift card for the best on each team!
  • Be the Change Club is raising money towards the PJ Program. The PJ Program is a non-profit organization that collects new PJs and books to donate to foster kids.
