  • Welcome back to another edition of TETV Morning News. Today is Friday, January 26.
  • A reminder that the Rock Paper Scissor battle has now come to an end and team winners should report to their homeroom teachers for tallying. Teams will need to submit the names of their winners using the Google Doc shared yesterday. Please record these results prior to students leaving homeroom this morning. Student Government looks forward to the winners facing off next week on the news!
  • Last night the Lady Cougars traveled to Sage Park in Windsor to take on the Lady Chargers. Going without one of their top players due to illness, TE found it hard  to tame the Lady Chargers and fell 39-24. Madison Carpenter and Maria Puniello led TE with 9 points each. Unable to break the relentless half court pressure, TE struggled to get the ball in the basket without their floor general. Next week, the Lady Cougars are back at home for two games, against Suffield and JFK respectively. Good luck ladies.
  • Get ready for some competitive fun, Cougars! Friday, February 9th, CougarTHON is hosting a TEMS Volleyball Tournament! Teams of 7 to 10 players are invited to sign up for this amazing night of volleyball, face painting, enter-to-win opportunities, and more! To get a sign up packet, go to Mrs. Klosowski’s classroom, 232, in the Emerald hallway or go on the TEMS website and print your own! Sign up packets and registration fees are due on Friday, February 2nd.
  • The Teen Center is hosting students from the middle school on Tuesdays and Fridays from 3 - 5:30 pm. Transportation from TE is even available on Tuesdays. Also, they are forming a Youth Council and are looking for interested students to attend an informational meeting on Feb 1st at 4pm at the Teen Center.
  • Out of the Blue will meet on Monday, January 29 immediately after school in Ms. Olsen's room.  Ms. Olsen looks forward to seeing you there.

  • Welcome back to another edition of TETV Morning News. Today is Thursday, January 26.
  • Mrs. Irwin and Mr. Cavaliere are very pleased with how cross-team lunches are going.  Most students are doing a great job of following the rules and enjoying lunch with their friends. Monday, January 30th marks the beginning of the third quarter.  Team seating locations move to new locations on that day.  Students will be required to sit by TEAM in their new locations for a week.  If all goes well cross team lunches will resume on Monday, February 6th.
  • Science Olympiad students: We'd like everyone to attend today's practice; both study events AND build events. Mr. Kraus, the high school Science Olympiad coach, will be joining us to answer questions and offer suggestions and tips.  We'd like all Science Olympiad students to attend.
  • Attention 7th and 8th graders- Get out your shiny ties and sparkly shoes! The 7th and 8th grade Valentine's Dance is coming up NEXT FRIDAY, February 3! Semi-formal dress is optional. This is not a "dates only" event so get your friends together and get ready to dance! Stay tuned for more information about TE's next opportunity for a night to hang out with friends and earn some prizes! Tickets on sale soon.
  • The outdoor education club has postponed the Ice Skating field trip to next Wednesday, February 1st. All students who signed up will be asked to meet in Sr. G room 361, after all students have been dismissed. Please make sure to arrange a ride to pick you up at 5:20pm at the South Windsor Arena. Thank you to everyone who signed up and gave forms and money on time! At this time the trip is at max capacity, and we will not be taking any more sign ups! Be attentive to future announcements for our future monthly trips!
  • Attention all members of Out of the Blue.  We will meet on Monday January 30 in room 222 in the Scarlet hallway.  Please be sure to bring a charged Chromebook and something to write with.  Ms. Olsen looks forward to seeing you there!
  • And now for some Teen Center Announcements - Students can join us at the Teen Center for a Movie Night from 6-8pm this Friday the 27th!   • Attention Writers, Artists, and Photographers.  Our school literary magazine, Out of the Blue,  is now accepting submissions for Winter section of the magazine.  Please join our Google Classroom for details on submission requirements,  The class code is 2jvi3d4.

  • The Lady Cougars were back in action last night taking on the Sage Park Chargers here at TEMS.  The first half started off slowly, but the Lady Cougars kicked it into high gear in the second.  Both Erin Martin and Avery Brochu connected from behind the arc early while Sam Roux added a bucket in the first quarter as well.  6th grader Morgan Bridgeforth led all scorers with 10 points on the night.  Equal to the task was another 6th grader, Shea Brochu, with 6 points, all in the third quarter.  Eliza Blanchfield added 4 points on the night, while Izzy Carpenter added three.  Teagan Purcell and Miz Ruiz each added a bucket to the overall tally. The Lady Cougars ran away in the end finishing with 41 points on the night.  Up next for the Lady Cougars is East Hartford today after school.
  • Attention all who signed up for the Outdoor Ed  ice skating trip this afternoon. We will be meeting at the arena at 4:00. You will need a ride there as well as a ride home. Please plan to be picked up at 5:15. We look forward to seeing everyone on the ice tonight.
  • Attention all sixth graders please remember your instruments tomorrow as we will have our only dress rehearsal for the concert. Please note you do not have to dress up for this rehearsal. The rehearsal will take place during your first encore of the day.

  • This is a Purple week. It is a Day 3 for Grade 6 and a Day 1 for Grades 7 & 8. 
  • The Teen Center is open! They are open from 2:00-4:00 pm on Tuesdays and Fridays, following the same cohort as the schools. Due to limited space, please call to reserve a spot.  Come enjoy snacks, interactive games and fun crafts.
  • TEMS Winter Matinee will be offering after school activities beginning on February 1st! The sessions will run for eight weeks.  Sessions are FREE! Students are responsible for providing materials for the selected activity. All activities will be online and require both Wi-Fi and a device. Please review the Winter Matinee Catalog to view the available sessions and details of the program.  You must also sign up  for your activity online.  Links and details are available on the school website, and all our social media accounts. As the number or participants for each activity is limited, sign-ups are on a first come, first served basis. If selected, students will be contacted with more information once the activity sessions have been formed.
