  • The Lady Cougars were in action on Friday, as they took on the Lady Wildcats of Ellington in a CRAL showdown.  The game was up and down all night though the Lady Cougars were victorious 54-47.  Leading at the half, TE felt secure in how they were playing to that point, however, Ellington didn't back down at the start of the second half.  Ellington pressured TE causing turn-over after turn-over.  And TE wasn't ready for their pressure.  At the end of the third quarter, the Lady Cougars were now down by eight points.  Ellington had scored 20 points in the third quarter making the outcome look bleak for TE.  The start of the fourth quarter meant the Lady Cougars had to press to get back into the game, and get back into the game they did. Olivia Dzubin sank two three pointers and Shea Brochu added another.  Maria Puniello was four of six from the free throw line, twelve points on the night, and Mia Haynes had a career night scoring twelve points as well, with six coming in the second half.  Brochu led all scorers with a career high 22 points as the Lady Cougars turned a 10 point deficit into an eight point victory.  "Every player contributed tonight," Coach Chandler said. "It was amazing to see how the girls responded after going down by ten points.  And respond they did," he added.  The Lady Cougars next play away to East Hartford on Tuesday night.  Good luck ladies and keep it going!
