  • Welcome back to another edition of TETV Morning News. Today is Friday, January 5.
  • The Lady Cougars hit the hardwood for the first time after the holiday break and they did not disappoint. Taking on the Ellington Wildcats in a CRAL border war, the Lady Cougars were up to the challenge.  TE jumped out to an early lead after Madison Carpenter and Shea Brochu each hit a three early in the quarter.  16 points in the quarter seemed like the Lady Cougars had things in hand, but the Wildcats were right in the game with 13 of their own. Maria Puniello was focused from the start and helped the Lady Cougars build their lead with 4 points early in the half.  The game was back and forth early on, though TE held a 26-21 lead going into halftime.  TE put their foot on the gas and stretched their lead to 11 in the third as Olivia Dzubin hit a big three to stretch the lead.  Puniello, with a career high, and Brochu led the team with 8 points each, while Elise Glunt rebounded everything and attacked the rim for 6 points of her own.  Carpenter finished with 5 points, Mia Haynes chipped in four, while Alex Gogic and Emmi Tushe had 2 points each. The final score was 41-37 but the game was never really in question. Great job ladies and good luck today against JFK.
  • The boys basketball team beat Ellington Middle School 55-24 yesterday improving their record to 2-1.   Led by a balanced scoring attack and a stifling defense, the Cougars cruised to a victory.  The Cougars play today at home against Enfield.

You will help plan school wide activities, participate in community projects, and generate new ideas.  Each homeroom will select a representative for the student council. Your homeroom teacher will be giving you access to a Google form. Interested students should fill out the form to enter into the election. In the form, you will answer the questions: Why do you want to be a student council representative? What makes you different from other candidates? Students who are interested in being their homeroom’s representative must fill out the Google Form to answer these questions by the end of the school day on Friday January 6th .  On Thursday January 12th, your homeroom will read each candidate’s answers to those questions and vote! If you have any questions please email Ms. Sullivan or Ms. Bouquot or see them in the Lime hallway for more information.

  • Last night, the Timothy Edwards girls basketball team traveled to Enfield to take on JFK. The Lady Cougars came away with a 40–30 victory as Morgan Bridgeforth paved the way with 14 points. Steady ballhandling and seven points from Shea Brochu helped the Lady Cougars seal the win. Kai grate chipped in 10 points and Kyla Wood made a three pointer at the end of the first quarter to give the cougars a 13 to 7 lead. Teagan Purcell had two points as did Kiera Dietelbaum.  The final two points of the game were made by Emmi Touché, as she stepped to the free throw line for Shea Brochu who sustained a small head injury. Tushe was called to the line with 3.7 seconds to go and buried both shots off the bench. The Lady Cougars travel to Ellington today after school to take on the reigning champions of the CRAL. It should be a good battle especially since both teams are undefeated on the season thus far. Congrats girls!
