• Welcome back to another edition of TETV Morning News. Today is Monday, November 13.

• Do you have an idea for music to  play at the end of the news? Well now TETV News is accepting music requests. Students and staff can click through this link https://forms.gle/iUEYVKjLzxqgk6ZS7 to submit ideas for music to play at the end of the news. All submissions must include a YouTube link and be school appropriate. We look forward to your ideas.

• According to the American Diabetes Association, about 244,000 children under the age of 20 are diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. Please wear blue or gray in honor of World Diabetes Day on tomorrow, November 14th because we will be providing blue ribbons for a donation of 1 dollar and blue bracelets for a donation of 5 dollars from the week of November 13th through the 17th. You can get these during your lunch wave. This money will go to children with type 1 diabetes in the Connecticut Children’s Medical Center.
  

• Attention all TEMS Band members;  Mr. Marci's instrumental lessons are cancelled for today.  Please remain in your regular encore class.  All band members should bring a Chromebook and headphones with them to band class today. 
  

• On Monday, November 13^th TEMS will recognize World Kindness day. During arrivals on Friday and Monday please stop by the lobby to complete kindness shout outs where you can recognize a friend or teacher for kindness that they showed. Like every day, let’s continue to represent TEMS values by showing kindness, compassion, and acceptance of everyone.
  

• Students and families are all invited to attend the first ever TEMS Gratitude evening scheduled for Tomorrow November 14^th from 6:30-8:00. There will be student presentations, gratitude activities and snacks. Bring the whole family!
  

• Start collecting your loose change, Cougars! From today to Friday, November 17th CougarTHON is hosting Penny Wars! Each homeroom will compete to see who can raise the most money, all of which will be donated to Connecticut Children’s — our local children’s hospital. The team that collects the most money will win a movie day! Get ready, because the competition is on!
  

• On Friday, November 17th, CougarTHON invites you to the Neon Dance! The dance will take place in the cafe, where snacks, drinks, face painting, and glow sticks will be available for purchase. Tickets are on sale now through Friday November 17th, in the main lobby before school, for $10. You can reserve your ticket using the QR code on the TEMS website. So be sure to bust out your brightest colors and get ready for a night of fun! Any questions, please contact Mrs. Klosowski in room 232.
  

• Attention winter sport athletes...registration for cheerleading and boys and girls Basketball is open!  Your parents must register you on the parent portal and an updated physician statement dated after June 1st, 2023 is required.  Please check the athletics website for more information.  The deadline to register is November 27th.

• Purple Week - Grade 6/Day1 - Grade 7&8/Day 4

• It's time to announce some VIRTUAL STEAM Olympics Winners.

 Paper Boat Challenge: coming in 3rd place was David Sweeney. Placing 2nd was Ryan Sweeney. And the first place Paper Boat Challenge Champ was Pranav Srijit. 

G.O.S.H (Greater Outdoor Scavenger Hunt): The top team was the Zoya Goyal and Taruni Pendyala with a dominating submission of photos and data!! Thanks to the many other G.O.S.H. teams for their submissions. ** In addition, congratulations to the SOLO hunters for their participation but unfortunately all the solo participants did not meet the requirements and rules for this event! 

STEAM Science Kahoot: 3rd place participant Linnea Bennett, 2nd place participant Jeremiah Pancras  and the STEAM Science Kahoot King is Cole Murphy!!!!!!!!!!! 

Fall Photo Challenge:Third place photographer is Disha Hosamani, Second place photographer is Mihika Joshi and the Fall Photo Winner is Aahana Roy. 

Environmental Art Challenge: The Sweetheart Award goes to Rithika Rajasedaran, the Emoji Award goes to Ryan Sweeney, the Celestial Award goes to Aahana Roy, the Landscape Award goes to David Sweeney, the Mandala Award goes to Eshaa Sreeji, the Textual Arrangement Award goes to Jane Carty.

• Attention future Entertainers: You have until Saturday to sign up for this year's production of Entertainers School House Rock Live, Jr. If you haven't already, join the Entertainers Google Classroom with join code a3uwofm. Complete the Google Form and upload your audition video by this Saturday, November 14. We will post the cast list before Thanksgiving. The first rehearsal will be held on Monday, November 30 via Google Meet. Details about the rehearsal schedule will be provided at that time. Thanks and good luck!
